The American financial crisis of 2007–2008, is considered by many economists to have been the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression of the 1930s. The Obama Administration poured $27 Trillion USD on a host of different economic programs, both short, mid and long term. You can read more about this on economy.com and learn how the US government mandated the Commercial Banks to Provide Loans at the interest rates of 2.5% for manufacturers, SME's and even individuals. The Obama Administration never once blamed the Bush Administration, or was Obama flying all over the world, abusing Americans. Instead, they worked a deal with China and the World Bank to fix this, the POTUS fought terrorism tactically by cutting the head off the snake (Killing Osama Bin Laden), thereby completely crippling Al-Qaeda, and within two and half years, the recession was down by 69%. Please, note that Obama while fixing the economy and fighting terrorism was also faced with residues of war in Afghanistan, Iraq, the possibility of another 9/11; Osama bin Laden was also alive, Qaddafi was also in Libya, and the Egyptian brotherhood was threatening Israel, and so was the issue with the volatile middle east. Obama took care of these issues by employing the best teams, and he worked with both his oppositions, while "Bailing Out" the dying Automotive companies, and many financial institution amidst serious protests and opposition. He didnt jail Republicans, there was no attack on ex-first ladies, the United State wasn't divided, and he went ahead to convincingly win a second term.
What is Buhari doing? He's going after past regimes, blaming all and sundry, unleashing the EFCC after every dick and harry, and its so Amazing, now the EFCC goes after anyone building factories, or even doing businesses: Bureau the Exchanged are been raided by DSS on daily basis, and the banks are been bamboozled with different rules. Even those with savings in dollars are now been threatened (What a sad Man Buhari is). So its now a crime for me to have savings in Dollars. What kind of atrophied economical principle are these people applying? What manner of economic team works for the president? Well, I was not surprised, when the first lady raised an alarm that she doesn't recognize these new people. It's even glaring if these same set of people had campaigned for Buhari, he'd have woefully lost again GEJ. And so now, when I bring in dollars from the US to my country, some Aboki DSS and EFCC are going to ask me how I got the money once I lodged it into my bank account? Isn't it disturbing that the same people who voted for change are been short-changed, the same people are been termed criminals, and thieves by the president and his dogs? Isn't this the most self-destructive government in the entire Universe? When does fighting corruption becomes a rabid attacks on manufacturers, business men, banks, SMEs, while the senate daily pads the budget, and the whistle blower who informed us is been ignored by Buhari?
Anyways, I voted this man, and just like everyone who voted him before traveling down here, we all can't wait till 2019 to come and kick him out of Aso Rock. Buhari if he ever contests would be extremely shamed out of power - this is too glaring. And I dont pray he dies in a plane crash, a man who thinks impoverishing the people, stiffing the economy, and creating the greatest unemployment index in the history of our nation deserves a fate far worse. Plane crash it mercy for such a wicked and dark soul.

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed shock, sorrow and regret over yesterday’s train disaster in India which killed over 100 passengers near Pukhrayan.
In a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity Mallam Garba Shehu, the president said he received with sadness the news of the train derailment and heavy loss of lives.

President Buhari commiserated with Indian Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and the families of the victims.
“The loss of human life on whatever scale, and anywhere, is bad enough. The world becomes united in sorrow during such moments because our common humanity makes us a family,” he stated.
The president said that the government and people of Nigeria felt and shared the pains as well as the anguish of the families of the victims and all Indians.
President Buhari also prayed that God comfort the grieving Asian nation.

Thanks guys.. really appreciate the congratulations..

ehen, lemme begin.

Na speaking dey generally give headache during PTE, here are some tips I got while preparing and followed strictly.

1. Record yourself.. as in,, recoooord.. again and again, in different voices and accents, to see which one clear pass.. See me for example, i get one kind baritone voice... Just one recording showed me that this thing no go work ooo. na so I edit am.. I took the entire speaking section of the exam in a girly voice... grin simply because, as I dey practice, na that tone of voice clear pass for the recordings... Change your accent if you have to,, remember its not a human that is listening. Its a computer.

2. Pronunciation.. Chidike said he spoke in phonetics.... For this our default naija accent, we have the tendency to pronounce everything at the same volume.... nay nay.. no be so e dey work.. at least not according to the tips I read... dem say, you must put stress, raise volume, lower volume appropriately to show emphasis....

3. Please and please dont repeat yourself .. Na this thing important pass.. for each repetition, your communicative skills dey drop.. your vocabulary dey drop, your oral fluency dey drop

3A. Abeg, in the name of God, dont CORRECT YOURSELF.. if you dey misyarn, dey misyarn smoothly go... Content is only one third of the scoring... as long as what youre saying is broadly related to the topic, no correct any mistake o.. na fluency dey drop so... lemme give you one example.. During my test, they asked, Which country in the united kingdom has the 3rd largest population... Na Wales. I know say na Wales. My brain dey think Wales.. my mouth yarn Scotland huh ... chei.. shocked shocked as I hear am, me sef shock... shocked but I no change am o... and as you can see, e no affect result... the exam is a test of English, not a test of knowledge... If at that point, I said, SCOTLAND, ah, no, sorry, WALES, ... the computer go reason am say, which kind sentence be that? and oral fluency go drop, communicative skills go drop, grammar go drop...

3B. which brings me to the next subtopic. Always complete your sentences.. lets assume you see a pie chart,, you wan describe, your mouth talk say, The BAR GRAPH....... ..... NO CHANGE AM O.... just continue. after that sentence finishes, you fit con dey call am Pie chart from the next sentence... This is because, the computer reads the pauses for commas, and the pause that ends a sentence. if you say, The BAR GRAPH, con correct yaself say, the PIE CHART, what the computer sees is, THE BAR GRAPH THE PIE CHART, blah blah blah..... now which kind sentence be that one? huh huh na scores e dey affect.

I dey run go somewhere.. I go continue once I get small free time..
Nice one

Hi all, i am glad to finally make this post. The migration journey for me just ended. God has been EXTREMELY gracious to me. landing in this country with a little less than 1000 dollars in February last year, i have successfully graduated in my masters program, obtained a professional job as an environmental consultant while still on bridging visa, and achieved what i couldn't achieve in Nigeria in 5 years all within a stretch of 20 months. i am grateful to the guidance of so many people on this thread. ie Zenkel who showed me how to arrive australia through malaysia on a shoe string budget of 150k, Boss jennakry who enlightened me on opportunities i never knew existed and others who helped and encouraged me on the journey. i will settle down and summarize some important key information yet to be shared on this forum that will help enable new arrivals find a professional job, and also 476 visa holders looking for extra 5 points on what to do to dodge the english bedrock while drilling through to permanent residence. i will also like to encourage others going through a lot of pain and doubting their decisions especially those who came via school route with their partners, it can only get better, don't loose hope. stay focused, the light awaits you at the end of the tunnel.

PoliticsRe: Jonathan Was Never Committed To Defeating Boko Haram – Osinbajo by malel1: 5:28am On Nov 01, 2016
agabusta:
The truth hurts, but VP Osinbajo seems to be right.

The way boko haram spiraled out of control under GEJ is mind boggling. Given that Yar'dua did not waste time in cutting them to size.

Another confirmation that GEJ purposely left them to fester was in the way the military was now about to record some victories against them 6 weeks to the election.

When GEJ realised that the boko haram issue was going to affect him at the polls as against being an advantage, it was then he gave a marching order to the military to push them back.

And to the surprise of many, the military that has been loosing countless battles against boko haram for the past 2 years was now able to record victories again boko haram in 6 weeks.

Something they have been unable to do in 2 years!

Anybody that does not agree that this is fishy needs to have his/her brain examined. And we have also heard and seen documents where the fighter jets and other weapons they claimed they bought was never bought, and in some cases grounded and cannibalised equipment was delivered while the Army and Air force chiefs smiled to the banks.

In many cases, the National Security Adviser used money meant to pursue a war to finance PDP election.

Does this show seriousness and a commitment to defeat boko haram??

GEJ does not know strategic planning. He got it all wrong. He thought boko haram will destabilise the major places PMB will gain votes from.

When it became obvious that the exact opposite is what was going to happen, that was when they panicked, postponed the elections and then properly mobilised the military to degrade the boko haram to an extent.
Obgeni don't forget is the weapons GEJ bought ur change government is using fools till date.
