abiolert: let me tell u guz a little story. Nigeria sucks no matter how anyone tries to paint it, that there is hope. They will say do business and be self employed, but the truth is were do you get money for the business, Without the bank asking you to bring your collateral which you don't even have? You are told that there is government jobs out there, if you apply sorry is your case if you don't know anyone. what about the private sector? the government will so milk them dry with tax payment that they can hardly survive and hence all their frustration is on the vulnerable nigerian massive unemployed youths. The answer to this rubbish is to leave this stupid country with this stupid set of leaders in all level pf governance to another country to start life afresh. 10000 likes |

Sheggy13: What's the entire population of Anambra state for it to have a city that house 10 million people? What's the rate of migration of other Nigerians and foreigners alike, which causes pressure on the infrastructure to a state like Anambra when compared with Lagos? Answer these questions with an open mind and you see the reason why those that came up with the bill considering Lagos only, in the first place did that. Even if it's 2million u don't grant one state in a country special status, meanwhile the resources used is not gotten from that state |

TheEastActivist: And this is awesome...
What this taught us is that selfish bills will always hit the bottom rock...
Lagos is not the only state in Nigeria so one wouldn't mind asking resilient questions why so? Why should it happen that way? For it to be accorded special status and getting the benefit all alone in the envy, discouragement and detriment of other peer states.
Now the same bill is rebranded and better and what it now means is that it will encourage states to be up and doing so as to attract development to unlock human resources by all means so as to tap into this blessing...
Congrats to the states that has already passed the first test which I also see most of the ss states being part of... Still hoping on the resource control bill that will nail the final coffin to rest.
Repping Anambra, the light of the nation... 100000 likes. Can u imagine some people asking why other states should be granted special status, really some people are just plan stupid in this country. |

UrennaNkoli: Stop saying nonsense. I spent more than a year in the phillipines where there are few blacks and I had some of the best moments of my life there. It depends on the county tho. Look at Nigeria where blacks are even racist to blacks (Nepotism in the ideal sense) . Its better for a white man or even something as low as Hispanic to be racist to me than for my fellow black fellow to be treating me anyhow. 1000 likes |

Politics › Buhari’s Rigid Leadership Style Makes Nigeria's Economic Problems Hard To Solve by malel1(op): 5:01pm On Nov 28, 2016 |
In an article titled "Nigeria's Economy needs Visionary Leadership", International business website, Bloomberg, said President Buhari’s rigid leadership style is making Nigeria's economic problems harder to solve. Read the article which was published today below. Africa and the world cannot afford a failing economy in the continent’s most populous nation. Yet that is exactly what Nigeria might be getting: Its economy is on track to shrink by1.7 percent this year, the official unemployment rate has more than doubled over the last two years, and inflation is at an 11-year high. One concrete step President Muhammadu Buhari could take to address the crisis would be to eliminate the country’s disastrous foreign exchange controls. Instead, Buhari has made no secret of his desire to defend Nigeria's currency. And the central bank has mostly gone along. Despite allowingthe devaluation of the naira in June, it is continuing to manipulate the exchange rate -- discouraging foreign investors, creating a crippling shortage of dollars for businesses that need to import, and feeding a currency black market. To keep down the street price of vanishing dollars, Buhari’s government hasarrested informal money-changers. More capital controls are in the works. Dismantling Nigeria’s foreign exchange controls will doubtless cause at least a short-term rise in inflation. Yet doing so will not only draw foreign investment and make the economy more productive and competitive, but also cut off a conduit for corruption. Buhari can cushion the blow for Nigeria’s poor through targeted cash payments -- an approach Nigeria has used in electronically delivering subsidies to poor farmers. That same mechanism could also shield the poor from the regressive impact of an increase in Nigeria’s value-added tax -- which is relatively low but a potentially valuable source of additional government revenue. There are other ways to stimulate the economy, of course. But Nigeria’s Senate rejected Buhari’s three-year spending blueprint and an ambitious campaign to borrow $30 billion abroad because they lacked details. Meanwhile, his reluctance to sell off state-owned assets has undermined other efforts to raise revenue. To be sure, Buhari faced ugly circumstances when he took office in May 2015. The plunge in oil prices had left the economy reeling and government coffers bare, and attacks by Boko Haram were ravaging the country. Yet while some progress has been made fighting both terrorism and corruption, Buhari’s rigid leadership style has made the country's economic problems harder to solve. Buhari’s election and pledges of good governance rightfully raised expectations across Africa. To fulfill those hopes, however, he will have to demonstrate more flexibility. http://www.lindaikejisblog.com/2016/11/buharis-rigid-leadership-style-is.html |

We all need to start heeding the call and quit hiding behind the false security of "Being abroad"!! Most folks at home are making it and are not intimidated or threatened by their folks in the diaspora. The tables are turning, and the sooner we secure our place at home, the better. "Being abroad" is not the end all,be all!! Certain folks at home who've never ventured outside the country are thriving, surviving and well established. Whi motherland is calling? Motherland that wants to kill everything about u, Motherland that has no record of u? Biko ShoProperties carry sit sitdown |

Did u travel via PR (permanent residence ) Bro if U travelled via any of those route I mentioned, there is no way u wont find somethin doing. Maybe u travelled via the Mediterranean sea |

ShoProperties: In South Africa only, there are 6+ millions europeans. France which is the biggest European country with African immigrants has 4.5 millions Africans (more than 70% are from North Africa: Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia).
In Zimbabwe only there are more than half a million British and other europeans, which is about 25% of the 2+ million African immigrants in UK coming in from 55 countries!
Also, did you know that there are more Arabs in Africa than in the Middle East. And, there are more Indians, Pakistanis and Bangladeshis in Africa than in UK and all Europeans countries combined.
Africans welcome all those people without ever committing a Genocide or racist crime on them. In contrary, most of those immigrants have very good positions and social status.
If Africa have to chase Europeans , Asians back home, like some are talking about Africans in Europe, those who will suffer the most are the Europeans ....how can we move forward when you can't fight for your country ,instead you travel out there where your existence is not noticed Is ur existence noticed in nigeria ur country? |

WestAfrican: I am pretty sure you have not set your feet abroad or lived there before. Africans do well as individuals and as you know most of us have hatred for one another and always believe in competition.
Policies of most countries make it difficult for Africans to break through. If you are referring to African American that is understood but again you see the stigma they are facing in America and how whites who kill African Americans get away with it.
Don't compare chinese with Africans or Nigerians. Compare other smaller nations that are striving or a 3rd world nation. The first chinatown was in the 1500(in the Philippines) where was Nigeria then?
Forget about Nigerians in diaspora and concentrate on getting the government to better our country. Some Nigerians are doctors in Australia and they earn $150-$250 per hour multiply that by 8hours? Multiply by 364days? Heaps of Nigerians are willing to return to invest but like i said ealier the government need to put things in place. For those who have decided not to return its there choice and should be respected.
Travel abroad, live there and come tell your story. Broda u don't need to explain, I used to be ignorant like the op and some people that comment on this topic, till I travelled outside the country early this year. No sensible human being wil advice his enemy to stay in nigeria |

CoolFreeday: Mark is a forgone issue. Buhari will do his second tenure and hand over to a Yoruba/ Igbo man, the reason Tinubu and co wouldn't want fresh candidate in 2019 because any new candidate will still want to run again after the first tenure. Fashola is one of the close pals of the President, your calculation that he will run as a VP for atiku is off it Wait u still want buhari to do second term after what's happening in nigeria? Biko next year were u dey make I start my PR application, this country is irreparable. |
