Appreciate who you are don't envy people's wealth cos u don't know their source of wealth. I know Olofin it's just a pseudonym and those cars are small compare to two of his cars that were arrested by customs, A Ferrari & Aston Martin. In Nigeria the rich gets richer and the poor get poorer, the rich can not afford to sleep because the Poor are awake

Music/Radio / Where Is A.Y Naija First Indigenous Rapper. (eko Si London) by mamapidgin: 5:47pm On Aug 03, 2015
Few people would have heard of the name A.Y. I'm not talking about the ace comedian Ayo makun of the popular A.Y show. But I'm talking about the unsong hero of the Nigeria indigenous rap Industry. A.Y was the first Nigerian modern day artist to rap fluently in Yoruba language he is such a talented artist that does is music with no stress. though he sang most of his song from U.K but all his track had a touch of Nigeria life in it.

A.Y started yoruba rap music long even before the discovery of late Rap maestro Dagrin.. But Ay seam to have vanish into thing Air. A comprehensive search of A.Y music on the Internet does not yield any meaningful result except for a rough/unclear recording of his music video track Hard to survive which was uploaded by an anonymous on YouTube. Despite the poor quality of the music video which I believe the person that uploaded copied it from like several different source before uploading it online which gave it a poor visual. quality, the video has received more than 8000 views.

Anyone that knows where A.Y is or have a direct link to him should please help us tell him to come back, Nigeria music industry is now doing fine, he should put some of his previous songs on YouTube for us to see and appreciate his talent

Some A.Y lyrics that still hang in my head

Ati Ibadan si eko
Ati Eko si london
London si Yankee

won ma pemi ni jebejebe
tori moman jeba ti ko lobe
ma je bread ma je bota
stress to wa ni eko olé so awon sumo wrestlers di skeleton..
ati Eko si london A.y sign out lonan mefa.

PLS MODERATOR PUSH THIS TO FRONThe PAGE WE WANT A.Y TO COME BACK...

They are doing everything possible to witch hunt and blackmail saraki but they will not succeed, except if Tinubu himself is not corrupt.

doctokwus:
Even if she is doing it on the surface because of the affront on Tinubu, it must be stated clearly that mrs Tinubu's has always stood on the part of principle, even if she is emotional and guided by family bonds.
I doff my hat to her and Gbajamiala for their stance.
The party's position reigns supreme and you cannot win an election under a party and decide to hand power to the party you defeated.
If Saraki felt he was that strong,he should have contested under PDP.
Many are conveniently forgetting that some of the new APC members today won their elections because of the Buhari phenomenon and the APC onslaught.
Let's assume that at worse, kwara had been won by PDP with Saraki still in party,PDP would have got 52 and APC 57 senators. APC would still have had d majority and had produced the senate president and Saraki would have been an ordinary floor member. So Saraki 's just acted treacherous and mrs Tinubu has acted like a hard core pity woman, because without apc ,no sp for Saraki.
I just hope Saraki gets impeached.

your maths is poor

Don't forget that saraki left PDP for APC with 15 other Senators so you can do your maths again, it's a well calculated game. what I want the APC to do is to reunite it's senators and let bye gone be bye-gone cos if they don't do that the party is heading for self destruction.

safarigirl:
Lol.....when will black men stop equating success to recognition by their white masters?

Do Americans judge success based on awards gotten from blacks/Africans?

As far as I know, Fela is the most successful judging on the impact of his music. Followed by Lucky Dube. These are people who used their music to influence movements, to influence change and revolutions, to preach national unity and emancipation. People whose music still elicits euphoric feelings of freedom fights and successful movements.

And you don't need a Grammy to be that or some silly Yale award. Fela didn't need any of that and i'm sure if he was alive and they offered it to him he wouldn't take it.

Safarigirl is not about basing our judgement on what white man says or which award did white man gives out, but it's about appreciating a talented woman who overcame many challenges to get to where she is, considering her root and she has placed herself in the world map through her God given talent. If you've ever listen to Angelique Kidjo songs you will know that all the award given to her either by white people or black people are well deserving of her. We are talking about entertainment and raw talent.

In addition to that, Angelique is also an activist... Is not easy to gain international prominence and acceptance as an African, or as a African Lady talkless of comming from a tiny country like Benin you know.

Youssou N'Dour won same grammy award for Best contemporary word music album for his CD Egypt in 2005 ...

Youssou was awarded an Honourary Doctoral degree in music from same Yale University in 2011

Don't forget the official anthem of 1998 World cup track with Belgian singer, Axelle Red.

I still think you should take a look at the blog to read about her achievement and successes i dont want to copy and paste it on this page they are both good musician but Kidjo is far far ahead

Undoubtedly she's one of African's most successful musician, but Youssou N'Dour is miles ahead in every ramification.

I dont agree with you Maxymilliano, Youssou N'Dour is truly one of the best in Africa but in terms of achievement and success he is no near Angelique Kidjo
