Regarding this PCR test, my husband is on his way to Canada now and he's flying Egypt air. He didn't do Covid/PCR test but they asked for it at 3 different points. He said he just presented his vaccination card and the ArriveCan email, and that was it. I don't know if we can conclude that these 2 documents can suffice in place of the PCR test. Ketima: Hello Skull4eva,
As regards the bolded, are you referring to showing PCR test when boarding plane and which airline is that? Please kindly clarify cos people who travelled recently weren't asked.
Thanks |

Most applications from Nigeria are processed in Nairobi, so you can send it there. Profgordons: How do one know what country to choose for the processing? |

Congratulations! I'm so happy for you. The wait is finally over. shams040: Alhamdulillah, Verily there is surely light at the end of the tunnel.
After praising and thanking the LORD of the Universe, the creator of man from a clot of blood, I pray that everyone waiting would get a positive response soon.
My Story is so long but I would leave that for another day.
SOWP Submitted Oct 11th 2021 Biometric Oct 14th 2021 Medical upfont pass Oct 25th Applied for VV on Nov. 23rd, 2021, and it was rejected on Dec 7th, 2021. Beginning of my depression Applied for another VV on Feb 20th, 2022 and it was rejected 24th April 2022. Depression got deeper and I stopped going to the Lab (working from home but with low productivity). Finished my winter semester and my graduate coordinator, advisors and everyone around me felt so sad for me and I also felt sad for myself. At this point, I was already like I'm leaving Canada and I literarily got no positive view of Canada. I went to my MPs office and they are literarily doing nothing and just saying I need to wait till the processing time elapse. Eligibility Started June 14th. Then I started to fire email, and webform everyday. Yesterday I sent an email to all of the offices from my own email telling them how depressing I am. Here I attached my transcript enrolment letter, updated finance, and landed document to Abuja, Lagos, London, and Nairobi. I couldn't sleep overnight so one of my good brothers here that I pray that Allah grant his wife the PPR (today Bihitnillah) called me and we spoke and pray that we hear from IRCC soon. After some minutes I received an email from Abuja that I need to send a webform and I immediately responded to their email by saying I have done that 1000000 times. Well, after like 1 hr I stood up to see what webform they even asked me to send. As I sat on my chair like this I just saw the Golden email from on my wife's email (I have access to my wife's email) and it was at that time that I went on sujud (prostration) to Glory the Lord that created the earth and peg it with the rocks. BVL and PPR June 23rd 2021.
Alhamdulillah. |

Thank God it has ended in praise.
Its PPR for my husband's SOWP!!!
Application submitted: Oct 17, 2021 Upfront medical: Nov 30, 2021 Medicals Passed: March 7, 2022 BVL and PPR : June 18, 2022
I give God all the glory for this blessing. I got my study permit in August 2021 for the Fall 2021 session and I came into Canada with my second daughter in October 2021. My first daughter has been in Canada since 2017 studying, so we came to join her, while I also started my own program. My husband applied for his open work permit and the wait began....we never knew it would would be delayed this long. I was so hopeful that he would get his permit by December 2021 so we would all have a white Christmas. December came, nothing happened...came to the SOWP thread on nairaland and saw that people had been waiting for months...as far back as January 2021. This wasn't encouraging at all. We kept sending webforms and emails. I would send webforms on my husband's behalf, I also asked him to keep sending from his side. Gave him all the email addresses and the webform links I used during my study permit application (got them from the student visa thread). Meanwhile, my daughter's graduation was drawing near, June 14, 2022 precisely, so we decided to use that as an opportunity for IRCC to speed up my husband's application so he could attend our daughter's graduation. I asked my daughter to send a mail to the MP of the city where she resides while I also did to the MP of my own city. Her own MP responded, gave us the status of the application and said the application was in progress but might not be ready by her graduation. I got automated response from mine directing me to IRCC website. He hasn't really never been helpful, even when I contacted him during my study permit application. With the news from my daughter's MP, we were hopeful but not certain if anything would happen before graduation because he mentioned it in his response. But we kept sending mails to IRCC. About 1 week to our daughter's graduation, I changed the subject of the email to "URGENT PLEASE! MY DAUGHTER'S GRADUATION IS ONE WEEK AWAY!".....nothing about application update or enquiry...LOL, because I thought maybe they weren't even reading all the emails we had been sending, that once they see the subject, they just assume it's the usual enquiry email and they don't bother to read it....my thoughts though. Graduation came and went, no show. Then 4 days after graduation, he got the 2 emails from IRCC. Even though this came in much after our daughter's graduation, I am grateful to God for it has ended well to the glory of God.
I pray that everyone still waiting will receive their good news soon in Jesus name.
Note: Eligibility did not start on the portal till his PPR dropped. |

Congratulations Residentourist! Residentourist: Join me in celebrating God's faithfulness because what he cannot do indeed does not exist!!! SOWP and study visa applications approved same day!!!
My husband's SOWP and my 11year old son study permit got approved after the 3rd attempt. First attempt 2016 we all applied as a family and were all bounced on purpose of visit and home ties. After I got my study permit approved in June 2021 we reapplied on 11 July 2021 - visitors visa for hubby and study permit for kids Refused 29th September
Reapplied October 29 before the GCMS notes came because it was delayed. Medical for my husband November 15 ( my son had done his medicals earlier) Medical passed November 22 GCMS notes finally came in late November- December 2021 (applied for hubby and the kids and they all came at different dates, one even came in the middle of December) GCMS notes showed the VO was concerned about the cost implications of running 2 homes and home ties. Luckily all those concerns had been adequately tackled in the SOP during reapplication. In the course of waiting a friend who had also applied for study permit for her kids decided to try out the new IRCC portal and got her kids visitor visa approved in 7days so we decided to give it a try too. Visitor visa application was done on the 19th of December 2021...then another round of waiting commenced. Eligibility 20/01/2022 (noticed my son's medical was passed on that date)
PPRs January 21, 2022!!!
Documents submitted All relevant IMM forms Bank statements Title Documents of properties Investment certificates Pension Documents Letter of employment and promotions Letter of introduction from employer Payslips Receipt of my school fees My study permit and my kids visitors records Int'l passports SOP Letter of introduction from me. We wrote to CIC twice and filled out webform once last week and most of the messages were not even delivered. Letter to MP has also not been acknowledged This can only be God!

Congratulations! Yeemmy: PPR ALERT
Application submitted: May 7 Biometrics completed: May 17 Request letter: May 14 Responded via webform: June 1 Responded via NSE platform: July 5 (uploaded Letter of Explanation with letter of English proficiency, and updated personal bank statement). Upfront medicals: June 1 Medicals passed: June 7 BVL: September 1 PPR: September 3
Documents submitted: CV Recommendation letter from my academic supervisors (1st and 2nd degree)—Both hammering on the need of my proposed PhD program and how it would greatly benefit Nigeria. Certificates and transcripts. Letter of support from my brother (He expressly noted the amount he transferred to my account, 2M). Letter of Attestation from my parents. Picture with my parents (recent). Land documents (Agreement).
POF: Funding Letter. Personal bank statement (4 months, with history of 3M). Brother’s bank statement (4 months, foreign account). Brother’s pay slip.
The wait was really daunting and exhausting. At some points, I was overwhelmed and doubting my application - It was after I submitted my application I join this thread, then, I began to raise webforms and SHOOTING EMAILS to Nairobi to further fine tune my application based on the recommendation and advice from the gurus here. More so, I PRAYED AND FASTED so that the VOs should overlook my mistakes
As at this time last year, I cant imagine that I could be at this level, in fact, I was about giving up on scholarship after receiving several love letters from Professors. Then, I give it another trial this year—I am heading to UBC for a PhD program with funding. (B.Tech 2014; MSc 2019).
To God be thy glory. Great is thy faithfulness.
To all PPR Hopefuls: You will get it very soon by the grace of God—Your labour will not be in vain. The mercy and the favour of God will envelope your application. God in His infinite mercies will cover your mistakes and color your efforts. The joy will go round. We all testify to the goodness of God and his name will be magnified. He will surely come through for everyone. He’s a faithful God: He thou has promised; he’s faithful and will make it happen very soon. It is well!
Thank you Everyone, God bless you WHAT GOD CANNOT DO DOES NOT EXIST!!! |

Congratulations to those that recently received PPR and to the hopefuls, may the Lord grant your heart desires. Stay hopeful and prayerful. Your PPR is on the way! It will surely end in praise for what God cannot do does not exist! Meanwhile, my daughter's (13 years old) PPR dropped this morning to the glory of God. I applied for study permit along with her on May 3, 2021 but forgot to include a consent letter from my husband for her to travel along with me. So when my PPR dropped on Aug 24 (I already shared all the details and timeline in the previous thread), hers didn't drop, but instead I got a request letter for the Non Accompanying Parent Authorization Letter to travel. I uploaded the letter on the 25th Aug and the wait began...I actually thought it wouldn't take more than a day or 2 because her eligibility started on that 24th Aug, so I believed it was just the authorization letter that was delaying the approval. I sent webforms and emails but received the usual auto responses. Yesterday, I sent an email to nairobi and I added "PRIORITY" to the subject of the email. (Note: I did this because I read on their contact page that they are currently focusing only on a list of priority enquiries one of which is my case - "You need to submit documents requested by one of our officers" . Please, I'm not advising this except your case is on the priority enquiries. As soon as I sent the email, I got the attached response...this isn't the usual response. When I saw "Missions abroad", I thought to myself, Mission ke...I hope I've not complicated things. I kept hoping and praying. Then her PPR dropped very early this morning. Thank you to everyone who contributed and are still contributing to this platform. You will surely be rewarded by the great rewarder himself. God bless you all!
