I don't know why the SANDF makes use of private contractors/companies in the maintenance of their military equipments, it makes no sense to me

Just imagine the SANDF is in war with a competent opponent with good air capabilities I just don't see how this private companies with civilian workers can render any services in such time

Take a look at the Nigerian armed forces for example, we have aircraft engineers for the Air Force, Marin engineers/Navy engineers for the Navy, repair and maintenance/army engineering command and many more which are charged with the responsibility of maintenance and repair and the availability of military equipments.

The Nigerian Air Force has aircraft serviceability of 75% which is the highest in Africa this tells you how good the Air Force engineers are and mind you this engineers are given military training and they can operate in the most difficult conditions/environments

The South African Air Force entire fighter fleet is currently in bad condition and I'm currently reading about the South African Navy's fleet has been reduced to just one operable ship available for military exercise due to over reliance on private companies and also lack of funds

I came across this

Czech Republic Flies Upgraded Albatros Aircraft to Nigeria

Czech-based company Aero Vodochody has delivered three L-39ZA Albatros aircraft after a two-year overhaul to Kano, Nigeria.

Ordered by the Nigerian Army, the upgrade involves an Electronic Flight Instrument System to display flight data in the aircraft’s cockpit.

The planes will assist operators in training with a fully-digital capability before flying the army’s JF-17 Thunder combat fleet.

Nigeria is the fifth customer to opt for the complete repair and update of aging L-39 Albatros planes.

So you think I sent you data of undocumented immigrants? Bro, you have no idea, half of Zimbabwe is in South Africa illegally, even Nigerians who came to "watch the world cup" in 2010 are still here dodging the law.

... Just to summarise immigration for you, i know no African who migrated to Nigeria, I know a 1000 who came to South Africa.
You are so childish, you live in South Africa or Nigeria? how will you know those that migrated to Nigeria

[ I know a 1000 who came to South Africa.]

You are proudly foolish

Bruh all fighters cruise at subsonic speeds, around the same speed as a private jet. However they are not transport aircraft that are rated by cruise speeds. Going from place to place is not the primary job of a fighter. They are usually known by top speed and not cruise speed.
Thank you for this point

You pick up figures from Wikipedia and post on this thread.

You claimed the F-35 is slow, so I'm asking you an aircraft that's flies nearly 2 times the speed of sound, would you consider that aircraft slow ?

"The F-35, while not technically a “supercruising” aircraft, can maintain Mach 1.2 for a dash of 242km without using fuel-gulping afterburners."

The other aircrafts you mentioned need afterburners to fly supersonic.

So which aircraft is faster?
You always want to win arguments even when you have no reasonable point to make

Please watch attentively maybe you will understand what's his trying to say

In 2015, Nigeria spent N4.9bn importing military gears and uniforms from Turkiye and elsewhere. In 2019,President Muhammadu Buhari invited the Turkish company to build a factory here in collaboration with DICON in Kaduna to produce 1.2m military gears annually. Here’s the result.

Before this new factory was built in Kaduna, existing military factories were revived to boost production locally in line with Executive Order 03 by President Muhammadu Buhari.

That's why I said "Here we go again".

Negotiating with an invasion? How will that work?

BTW Why is Kenya so obsessed with fighting wars that are frankly not their business? I get the goodwill part but still find that quite absurd. This was the same way they entered Somalia and consequently imported terrorism into their own country. Air and logistic support should be all at most. F*ck EAC whatever, I don't see why Kenyan infantry should be on the frontline in a charity war. Maybe their generals just enjoy wars. Kenya has no business in that FARDC-M23/ Rwanda shit show.

Please correct me if am wrong but out of all those EAC countries, I believe Kenya is the newcomer in that conflict, yet they seem to have donated the largest troops and are apparently leading the charge.
The answer to your questions is simple, Kenya wants to be a regional Power and you can't blame them for having such aspirations

Every country must aspire to be important and to be influencial to it's neighbors and in it's region.

In Africa to achieve this aspirations the country must act as a stabilizing force and contribute meaningfully to UN peace missions and also lead's it's own peace missions in the region.

Besides Nigeria did this same thing in the 80s and 90s by bringing stability to the west African subregion and Africa at large in a way it received praises from the US and the world at large. To have influence in your region you need two things, first you need to prove your military superiority over the region and secondly you need a stable political atmosphere with a good economy to achieve influence.

And I think Kenya has all what it takes to achieve their objectives wink

What is this?

Did they tell you, you cannot incorporate radios in their armoured vehicles?
Incorporate radios in their armoured vehicles. can you just hear yourself? shocked

So if I'm a procurement officer in Nigeria for example I would advise the government to purchase 100 or 200 of this armoured vehicles just for us to find someone else to buy radios from and incorporate them into this vehicles.

I think you are being too patriotic by saying such words, so you would feel okay if Nigeria purchases 200 or 300 of such armoured vehicles with no radio or means of communication from Japan? grin grin grin

Proforce Defence exhibition stand at Indo defense 2022 in Indonesia
Proforce is not even ashamed of what they are doing, how can you be taking this armored vehicles with no radio system or means of communication to every defense exhibition taking place in any part of the world.

Proforce is too slow with it's R&grin and has totally ignored cooperations, for example Proforce can sign an agreement with one of those amazing South African military radio/communication company to be able to work together to produce APCs/ MRAPs with total radio coverage.

First you claim that the military is afraid of terrorists and that they are targeting civilians instead, later you claimed again that the military and the terrorists are working together to destroy the South East. Can you imagine how STUP1D you sound.

You also claim that President Buhari is the commander and leader of the terrorists. But it is still this same you that uploaded something on the president's convoy being ambushed by terrorists and that the military did not respond to that but rather they go after civilians in the South East. Can you imagine how F00LISH you sound.

Meanwhile are you aware that the old man (Nnamdi Kanu) whose course and agenda you want to die for created Ebube Agu, a terrorist organization known for enforcing "Sit at home order" on innocent Easterners, killing security operatives especially soldiers from the military on order of their evil founder and just recently they were reported to have kidnapped a Governorship candidate for Ebonyi state on the orders of the present Governor of Ebonyi. The Ebube Agu group claimed that it was an arrest they carried out and that the reason why he was in their custody was because he was suspected of dealing in hard drugs. Since when did Ebube Agu start arresting people for hard drugs? Who permitted them to do so?

That same old man gave Ebube Agu weapons without permission from the Federal govt and was responsible for the Orlu Crisis in South East Nigeria but he fled the country to UK, from UK to Kenya and left you NUMBSKULLS to face the consequence in the South East.

Nigga use your head and think. Concentrate on the future and stop trying to actualize an evil dream of the past.

TH cheif of air staff while delivering a speech at the Nigerian Air Force seminar said that the Air Force will be taking delivery of attack helicopters in December.

Amao, who made the disclosure on Thursday during the two-day Force operation seminar with the theme: ‘Harnessing Nigerian Air Force Combat Experience in Joint Military Operations for Doctrinal Development,’ held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital, said the aircrafts would boost the Nigerian air power employment and projection capabilities as well as air combat training.

He listed the new aircraft platforms being expected to include: two Agusta 109 Trekker multi-role helicopters, two Beechcraft King Air 360, four Diamond DA-62 surveillance aircraft, three Wing Loong II UCAVs and six T-129 ATAK helicopters.

Others include: two CASA-295 medium airlift/surveillance aircraft, 12 AH-1Z attack helicopters, and 24 M-346 attack aircraft.

According to the Chief of Air Staff, “Under Mr President’s able leadership, the Federal Government has, since 2015, acquired 38 new aircraft to boost training and combat readiness of the NAF.

Wetin you wan put inside the LHD? Guntrucks which an LST can comfortably carry? Abi na our pkangolo vickers and 7 VT 4 and ST1 angry Do you have plans to invade anyone that you need a floating command post?
So you are tell me that the US has more than 10 LHD because they are planning on invading another nation?
There is what we call multi-purpose equipments and the LHD is among the classes of such weapons, it allows navies to spend more time at sea ( months ).

It's can be use as a command and control post at sea.

Any nation that takes its security and the territory integrity of it's EEZ seriously must have such weapons.

I no gree.

We need to get our additional LST asap.

LHD are a big fat target.

What need to build our Tank fleet, including purchasing additional IFVs.
Are you in time of war? Then why did you call it a big fat target
What LHD offers every Navy in the world is it's ability to carry larg number of personals and some numbers of helicopters which makes it serves as a command post at sea
