Ok, you never knew during Jonathan's presidency they were the only ones willing to sell weapons to us.

You also do not know their defence contractors helped us to secure the north east so we could have elections in those places. The Nigerian military did not do that before the six weeks Jonathan postponed the election for.
Please don't be offended, how old are you? I want to know before I continue engaging with you

With Nigeria's many military hardwares, which I am not impressed with, by the way, we still haven't been able to put a stop to violence in within our country.

Stop attacking the South Africans. If they have only 6 military planes in operation, then maybe its because they are in a peaceful neighbourhood. I will trade Nigeria's turbulent neighbourhood for their peaceful one anytime anyday.

It is better to have a small military and a peaceful surrounding, than have a large military with a turbulent area.

I won't trade words with you. I clear things the very last time and won't be responding to you anymore.

I never disagreed with your trade points at all but only for suggesting that the MNNA is a facade (Which I bolded in my response). Military assistance has always been a US diplomatic tool for a long time and there's absolutely nothing wrong with accepting assistance/guarantees when you have security challenges to fill. There are many US allies that have developed economies but still use US military assistance because they understand the mutual benefits. Everything should not be pushed into a colonial narrative.

Israel still relies heavily on US military aid, Singapore as well, South Korea, Canada and so on. It is also economically wiser (In terms of PPC) to do so. These countries have the ability to pursue their own defense industry, but it is just economically unwise. A country that tries to do everything on its own will find little room for growth.

And besides this is primarily a military page not one for economics.
This is why this countries don't have defense industries, tell me why France refuses to buy American jets because the US will use it as an opportunity to kill your home grown defense industry by doing so it makes you over dependant on the US which makes you a good vasal

President Ruto of Kenya visits the US on a State visit. This is the first State visit of an African leader in 16 years since John Kufuor of Ghana in 2008.

President Biden will also designate Kenya a major non-NATO ally during the visit. Kenya will become the second country in Africa after Morocco to have such relationship with the US.
In 2018 President buhari of Nigeria had an official visit to the United States under the request of donald trump, so I don't understand the part where you said ( since 2008 ) and I took note of how happy you are while typing this nonsense

Air Vice Marshal Lubo, please allow me to stand on existing protocol, and thank you so much for having us here today.

Also, welcome and thank you to our distinguished guests from the U.S. Air Force and Army Corps of Engineers who have made the trip.

I would be remiss not to recognize an individual who is not here today: Ambassador Mary Beth Leonard, who departed Nigeria one month ago and entered retirement after 38 years of service to the U.S. government, including three Ambassadorships. Nobody did more than she in recent years to strengthen this relationship, and to support a stronger military-to-military partnership.

Good morning, everyone. It is an honor to represent the United States here in Kainji on such a significant occasion.

Well before my arrival in Nigeria last year, I was hearing about the A-29s. I have closely tracked the progress of the A-29 program because of what it represents in this new era of U.S.–Nigeria security partnership. Today, I am delighted to celebrate the fruits of that partnership and commitment. Nigeria’s A-29 program addresses critical Nigerian needs, is the largest U.S. foreign military sale in history to any country in sub-Saharan Africa, and is truly an example of Nigeria’s leadership and professionalism as reflected in the Air Force motto, “Willing – Able – Ready.”

A key enabler for the effective employment of the A-29s is the construction here at Kainji, which meets U.S. standards for munitions storage, safety, security, and quality. Without a proper and modern runway, hangar, training facility, or storage area, the A-29s would be grounded; with this construction, it can truly take flight. And we have already seen just how important this program is. The Nigerian Air Force has used the A-29s to great effect in the fight against terrorists, and the use of the latest targeting technologies and precision weapons minimizes civilian casualties. Just last October, the NAF demonstrated the effectiveness of the A-29s when the Nigerian military successfully repelled a terrorist attack on nearby Wawa Cantonment, just a few miles down the road.

The A-29s are a critical piece off the puzzle in Nigeria’s fight against insecurity and extremism but it’s not just about the machines or the facilities, it’s the people in and behind them.

Proper maintenance and ground support are critical to keeping the A-29s in the fight, and the A-29 Program Management Office at Nigerian Air Force Headquarters is a large part of that success. The Program Management Office is an internationally recognized best practice to support long-term sustainment, and we’re proud that the A-29 is the first NAF airframe with this support mechanism. I look forward to seeing U.S.-Nigerian collaboration lead to additional advancements through projects like the A-29.

And I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the Air-To-Ground Integration program or AGI. Six courses of students from all three military services have graduated from the program, and we look forward to working with the NAF to develop the AGI Schoolhouse. These programs deepen the U.S.-Nigerian partnership and help the Nigerian military become not just the premier fighting force in Africa, but a stabilizing force in the region.

We are cutting the ribbon at three different sites here in Kainji today, which is pretty impressive, but this is far from the end of the U.S. work at the base. We remain willing, able, and ready to support the A-29 equipment and construction warranties and to discuss requests for additional equipment. As the U.S. Air Force says, let’s “aim high” for the next iteration with the AH-1Z. Thank you.

Nigerian Navy Intercepts Hijacked Vessel, Rescues Crew Members

The Nigerian Navy has intercepted and rescued Motor Tanker (MT) MONJASA REFORMER off the Island of Principe.

MT MONJASA REFORMER with IMO number 9255878 was attacked and boarded by pirates on 25 March 2023 at about 2239 UTC in position 05:29.35 South – 009:34.00 East, around 144 nautical miles (nm) West-South-West of Pointe-Noire, Democratic Republic of Congo.

In a statement, the Director of Information Navy Commodore Adedotun Ayo- Vaughan said “At the time of the attack, the vessel was also about 95 nm off the Etame Terminal”.

According to him, the pirates using a skiff drew close up, forcefully boarded the vessel and held 16 crew hostage.

Commodore Vaughan noted that upon receipt of the incident which was conveyed to the Nigerian Navy by the West Africa Regional Maritime Security Centre (CRESMAO) in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, the Nigerian Navy swung into action.

He said that “the Nigerian Navy surveillance infrastructure was used to search, locate and track the vessel despite the fact that the pirates disabled the Automatic Identification System and communication set onboard”.

He added that it is imperative to state that the hijacked vessel is registered in Liberia but owned by Danish Monjasa Chartering III DMCC.

According to him, the vessel arrived the Gulf of Guinea (GoG) on 14 February 2023 following its departure from Amsterdam and had visited Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, Cameroon, the Republic of the Congo and Gabon for petroleum products-related trade before her hijack.

It was observed that the pirates navigated the vessel northwards of the GoG passing Gabon and Cameroon on 28 and 29 March 2023 before heading to and arriving at Sao Tome and Principe, off the Joint Development Zone on 30 March 2023.

Collaborative efforts
Commendably, the Nigerian Navy collaborated with the French Navy Ship, PREMIER-MAÎTRE L’HER, which was on patrol within the Gulf of Guinea (under the Coordinated Maritime Presence arrangement) and had sighted the hijacked vessel.

“As the vessel approached Nigeria’s maritime environment, the Nigerian Navy vectored her ship, Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) GONGOLA to intercept MT MONJASA REFORMER and rescue the crew members held hostage. Accordingly, NNS GONGOLA intercepted the hijacked Tanker, MONJASA REFORMER, adrift 76nm off the Island of Principe”, he said.

However, it was discovered that the pirates had disembarked with 6 crew members to an unknown destination while underway in the Sao Tome and Principe Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

Considering the need to secure the vessel and ensure her safe arrival to her destination, the Nigerian Navy deployed NNS KANO in the company of the French Offshore Patrol Vessel to escort the vessel to Lome, Togo.

MT MONJASA REFORMER arrived Lome, Togo, at about 1800 WAT on 1 April 2023. Efforts are being made by the Nigerian Navy, her strategic partners and other relevant agencies to track the pirates in order to ensure the safe release of the abductees.

I never claimed that this election didn't have it's on issues, I completely disagree that the election process was flawed, especially when compared to other past elections including 2015 when the APC claimed dogs and baboons would be soaked in blood.

It doesn't matter how some of you cry in this thread, it's comical and I quite enjoy the theatrics actually, but you will be better served going to court.

There are videos online of people in the South East forcefully thumb printing for Labour party candidates.

Are we supposed to believe that Labour party scored 98% of the vote on average in the South East.

We were told the naira redesign was because of Tinubu, Force deployment also because of Tinubu etc etc

All candidates should go to court with the evidence they have.

We have not seen the Tinubu presidency yet, we cannot start claiming doom and gloom. I get you don't like Tinubu, but let's not claim he did not win this election when nothing has been proven in court.
It seems you don't understand English or maybe you don't understand the argument, all this issue you and others are talking about makes the 2023 elections questionable,
In conclusion the 2023 elections was flawed
