My children are currently learning French. Mandarin will be up next. lintend for them to develop this over the next 10 years.

They can't speak Igbo (neither can ). Its okay. The world won't shake from its foundations.

I am proudly Igbo yet don't speak or hear lgbo. Does that make me less Igbo? I've been to lgbo land maybe 4 times in the last 10 years? Does that make me less lgbo? Many speak of fatherland.

I have never met my father. Does that free me of the obligations of my fathers Ihave lived and I think some would say managed in Nigeria for 9 years, No lgbo. No Yoruba, No Hausa. I don't even speak Pidgin.

But now Im a slave. My colonial masters have
brainwashed me. Okay. l accept. You are all right.
My kids don't know their English names. They are Obi, Kaego and Nnenna.

But they'l regret not learning lgbo? Do we even think anymore? I just wanted to see what the reaction was going to be. 40m+ people speak Igbo. The language is never going to die. Please calm down now.

From 13-17 I spent that time in Owerri. I attended Azara Egbelu Boys and Emmanuel College. Those Igbo brothers (and cousins) basically called me a bastard everyday.

Mercy Eke, Big Brother Naija 2019 (season 4) reality TV star, has declared that she would give her life to Christ and become a pastor someday.

The fair-skinned housemate stated this during a mutual interaction with her best friend in the house, Diane.

According to her, “When I dress, I dress for not the same occasions. I dress to slay, I’m a devise person; not slightly the lesser effects you spot here. I hold approved wears, dresses for church, and get-together outings. I don’t trouble about could you repeat that? somebody says about my dressing as I dress to be happy. Like, I can’t garments jeans nor a rigid jump-suit to church.

“I may be a pastor someday.” she continued.

“I feel I have a calling. When I was little, I use to see visions and my dreams did come to pass. At some points, I stopped telling my dreams and visions to people so that they don’t label me a witch. I’ll give my life to Christ,” she told Diane.

An elderly female Nigerian pilgrim from Sokoto State has died in Madinah, Saudi Arabia a few days to the commencement of 2019 Hajj rites.

Dr Hamidu Liman, president of remedial team, resident Hajj mission of Nigeria, NAHCON, finished the admission despite the fact that spoken language with journalists in Madinah on Tuesday

Liman, who did not identify the deceased, said she had an ailment before embarking on the trip. He said she was referred to Al Ansar hospital, Madinah, where she died, four days ago.

According to Liman, the deceased was buried in Madinah after her family was contacted.

The deceased developed an illness from Nigeria, we attended to her but when her condition did not improve, we referred her for special attention at Al Ansar hospital, Madinah.

We lost her in the hospital four days ago.

I would advise intending pilgrims to ascertain their health status before embarking on pilgrimage because it involves lots of energy-sapping activities.

They are urged to do physical exercise before embarking on pilgrimage, to ensure they are physically fit for the exercise,” he said.

Liman said that three other pilgrims had fracture; one with pathological fracture while two others accidentally fell on the floor due to slippery tiles and were treated.

He identified major health challenges confronting Nigerian pilgrims to include fatigue, headache, hypertension and asthma.

He assumed the appointment had reputable four health centres in a mixture of locations in Madinah to finger pilgrims’ inconsiderable ailments.

The head of the medical team said pilgrims with special medical cases were referred to tertiary hospital for further medical attention in agreement with Saudi Government to treat such cases free of charge.

The mother of former Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia, have reduced their demand from N70m to N50m as they negotiate the release of the 76 year-old, Sports Extra has reliably gathered.

Siasia’s mother was kidnapped by unidentified armed men on July 15, alongside 65-year-old Florence Donana and her 17-year-old granddaughter from her home in Odoni, Sagbama Local Government of Bayelsa State.

In a chat with Sports Extra, Samson Siasia praised the Nigeria Police Force for their efforts but pleaded that they intensified their efforts towards the release of his mother.

“They have made contact with us and they have told us what they want. They should know I retired long ago.

“I can’t match their fresh demands of N50m, I just urge them to be considerate. They have mothers as well.

“The Police and other security agencies are doing a great job but my mother is still out there.” Sports Extra gathered that Siasia’s family offered the kidnappers N500, 000 for the release of their mother but it was rebuffed.

A 32-year-old man, Festus Oluwaseun, was on Monday arraigned before an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court in Osun State for alleged theft of 250 bags of rice.

Prosecuting Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Idoko John told the court that the accused committed the offence on July 23 around 1:17pm at Baruwa, Osogbo.

He alleged that the accused stole 250 bags of rice worth about N3.3 million, owned by one Fashola.

Idoko said the offence contravened sections 419 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol.11 Laws of Osun 2002.

The accused pleaded not guilty.

Defense counsel Ola Ibrahim prayed the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal terms.

Magistrate Rofiat Olayemi granted the accused N1million bail with two sureties in the like sum.

She said the sureties must live within the court jurisdiction with evidence of tax payment and two passport photographs attached with an affidavit of means.

The case was adjourned till September 2.
