But Nigeria won't sack coach

Ppogbae:
During the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, Croatia lost to Iceland in the 1st round in exactly the same fashion as us (they conceded a 90' goal). They also lost to Turkey, fired their coach, but managed to edge Greece in the playoffs. The rest, as they say, was history.

Can the Super Eagles bounce back and continue their march to glory?

Aba to Ikot Ekpene us bad
Umuhia to Ikot Ekpene bad?
...
Is there any road leading to/from Abia state that is good?
What is it with Abia state? I saw pictures of Ariaria market when rain falls. It's a pity

How many competitions has Rohr taken the team to? And which one should he have surely won but messed up?

You guys need reminding that since his arrival in 2016 these are his stats:

World cup qualification:
Played 8
Won 6
Drawn 2
Lost 0

AFCON qualification:
Played 13
Won 9
Drawn 3
Lost 1

This stat is intimidating.

To all mathematicians/statisticians in the house:

Would two wins against Central African Republic in November be enough to secure 3rd round qualification (I.e. we advance with two games to spare)?

For the third time, we may qualify without calculator. This will be a new record. I feel our criticism of the coach is unwarranted. He's doing well.

Politics / Re: Highlights Of The Lagos State VAT Bill by mank1234(m): 9:35pm On Sep 09, 2021
just2endowed:

Explained

If you make transfer from your account, VAT is not on the amount you transfer but on the bank charges. The charges the bank charge you is the value added.

If you buy raw material to produce a product, the difference between the raw material with cost of converting to finished goods and selling price is the value added.
Value added = selling price - (cost of raw material + manufacturing cost). VAT is required percentage of this value

but wait, i brought in goods from port, paid tax to lagos. moved the goods to PHC and sold it in phc, and still pay VAT again....

on a look of things, wont this war bring in a very high in price of goods?

You are not paying tax on cost of goods but on value added.
Politics / Re: VAT Verdict: States Begin Consultation As Court Quashes FIRS Application by mank1234(m): 12:26am On Sep 08, 2021
Jaycee07:
Your argument defies basic economic logic. Regardless of where the final consumer lives, once a good or service is paid for, VAT Payment should automatically go to the state where that transaction was made. That explains why you have FIRS offices nationwide.
And for the records, yes Lagos state generates the most tax in Nigeria followed by Rivers State. Kano would have joined that rank, but for their religious hypocrisy.
My point is VAT paid at the point of purchase should naturally be credited to the state account regardless of who the end user is. If the end user feels aggrieved, let him stay back and purchase such good and service in his state location and pay same VAT to his state

Exactly.
Politics / Re: VAT Verdict: States Begin Consultation As Court Quashes FIRS Application by mank1234(m): 12:25am On Sep 08, 2021
VAT is paid at point of adding value and the value adder can decide (should actually) to pass the cost to the next person in the value chain.
Politics / Re: VAT Verdict: States Begin Consultation As Court Quashes FIRS Application by mank1234(m): 12:21am On Sep 08, 2021
So if I buy, something from an online shop in UK to be delivered to me in Nigeria I shouldn't pay VAT to UK because the item will be consumed in Nigeria?

Or are you saying that UK should share the VAT with Nigeria because final consumption is in Nigeria?

SarkinYarki:

It's actually a consumption Tax because it's ultimately borne by the final consumer of a good or service..the final consumer bears the entire brunt and not the first stage collection point ... When I buy a generator in Lagos to sell in Nassarawa state , what Value did Lagos add to the generator ? Abeg lets stop all this shallow analysis and look at the process critically ... The last stage of VAT is what matter and that where the final consumption happens and the entire brunt of the tax is borne . So if a guy in Nassarawa bears the final brunt of a tax collected in Lagos you don't want his state to have a share in it ....we need good minds to critically look at it and find a better way to share this this thing

Who cares about NFF in Africa.

fabyom:
Then CAF should take the game away from Cape Verde!
Football is not table tennis, you can't expect the players that have never played together before to beat a team like Cape Verde on astroturf in Cape Verde with just 3 days of training.
This is how we underestimated Angola away from home in 2005 and lost by a single goal which eventually cost us the 2006 world cup ticket.
The NFF needs to put pressure on CAF to take the game to a COVID-free country.
We will lose scandalously without our EPL boys!

You may be right that he's star and will bloom soonest but comparing to others in the manner you did is the error. You're assuming that because he did X in Y min, then he'll do 2X in 2Y min. You can't say because a player comes in, on his debut, at 80min and scores 2 goals that the player has better stats than Messi and Ronaldo?

For the records, Obafemi Martins first 120min was better - 3 goals. First against Ireland (unity Cup) in 2004 coming on as a sub and 2 more against Rwanda (world cup qualifier) in 2004. In both games he was outstanding and the darling of all fans not just me. Can same be said of your superstar?

TheLoneCitizen:

I appreciate your opinions, but let's see who's misleading who.

Let's use the case of Iheanacho.

In the early embers of June 2020, when Kelechi was languishing in the back benches of the Leicester squad,
I made the statistical interpretation that Iheanacho needed just more gametime to flourish as one of the league's best.
But just like you both, the great Sir komekn rubbished this as " delusional and convolated manipulation of statistics."

Now 14 months later, ask yourself: Is Iheanacho a convoluted manipulation of stats? Or was he a diamond in the rough waiting to bloom?

Now tally your response to Henry Onyekuru.

Most of those tech guys raised their seed funds in US. How many average Nigerians have access to raised funds there.
How much venture fund can you raise in Nigeria? Point me to one here.

fabyom:

I don’t think there is anywhere in my post that I mentioned your name.
Why are so triggered?
I posted a statement from one of the brightest brains in the world, analyzing investment opportunities in tech in Nigeria.
What idiots like you see as challenges, sound minds see it as an opportunity to invest.
Tech startups are making crazy money in Nigeria despite all the obstacles you listed.
Guys are learning Python, Javascript, Node JS, etc in the same Nigeria.
If indeed you are an entrepreneur as you claim, you suppose to see the post as an opportunity to consider investing in tech.
However, your statement shows exactly why you are losing a crazy amount of money every year in your so-called business.
How can you manage a business when you can't even write a clear and comprehensible statement?
It shows you are not organized!

Kids in Nigeria are the ones with more leanings towards corruption

In Nigeria, whenever you are honest with your feelings, you are labeled disrepectful, Kids are encouraged to be dishonest because being honest will hurt the feelings of the older.

When you restrain kids from saying what they are feeling and what they really want, you are subconsciously telling them that they are not respected and loved. This is the impression planted in the heart of a growing child. They are not shown love and respect, and they will grow into adults not knowing what love and respect is.

What else breeds corruption, if not dishonesty, lack of love and true respect for one another..

You have a point but our problem is much more than upbringing. We don't tackle problem from the root because we don't ask pertinent questions. We ask: how can we stop corruption instead of what causes corruption. You cannot solve what you don't know the cause.

Corruption is stealing. Opportunity and poor reward (punishment) system breeds it. Same people raised in Nigeria would move to other countries and would forget about corruption. There are dishonest people everywhere but in those other places, systems have been setup to block loopholes.

Kano 1st and 53pts @ home, 8th and 11pts away. As against:
Enyimba 10th and 43pts home, 1st a d 23pts away.
Akwa 3rd and 51pts home, 2nd and 20pts away.

Akwa and Enyimba deserve their champions league qualification.
