We should just forget about this world cup.
The players are not ready. NFF is not serious.

Also, I think there's conspiracy against Nigeria.
Our matches came too soon.
Artificial turf was approved for Nigeria.
Lesotho and Zimbabwe would be playing their home matches in South Africa. That's more home matches for SA, a team in same group. Who does that?
NFF didn't notice or protest any of this. Algeria protested our last match in 2018 even when they were already out.

Instead for the coach to experiment with players during the friendly, he ended up using osimhen who should have been on the bench while he tries other players.
Now he's saying he missed osimhen.

This is someone who took his time to watch that game and especially observe our midfield setup.

Onyeka being positionally indisciplined wasn't going to sit as the CDM. He kept roaming. This is why Iwobi kept playing deeper. And how limiting it was.

Iwobi fell deeper as a DLP and long balls and switch of plays are not his thing. He's no midfield metronome or tempo controller. He is rather an attacking midfield pearl who can lay on the final ball from advanced areas or in the pockets between the defensive lines of the opponents.

Onyeka will bomb forward but doesn't have the technical nous to play against a deep block from advanced positions. Lacks the technical manipulation and skills in tight areas to turn and evade press.

This is not rocket science. It is football made easy when one takes the time to actually profile players right and observe who fits into what roles exactly.

The team's midfield needs Nwakali. But we also need more than Nwakali in the middle.
We need Alhassan's brain and energy as well. Ifeanyi Matthew's technical enforcing and also Onyedika's smooth CDM swagger.

These added to Iwobi's AM brain, Ndidi's midfield enforcer traits and Onyeka's BTL CM role (only when paired with a proper CDM with a holding MF profile or a genuine DLP) will see our middle game dynamics uplifted beyond compare on the continent.

Lastly Barryseal is partly right. I knock Peseiro coz he is crap but the players also deserve huge knocks for not winning against these minnows.

The players play like they don't have any fight in them. But this is also down to the atmosphere the coach brings to the team. So somehow, It is still a Peseiro thing. He is the disease and no wonder some of the players wants him to stay on. because he condones their unseriousness.

This man đŸ‘‡đŸœ gotta go.

Prefectly said. If I saw this post before my last post, i would not have posted it. You said it as it is. Westerholf, Keshi, Siasia won't condone this nonsense.

codemaniacs:

SE is playing with too many selfish strikers in the starting 11 and it is affecting the balance of the team because the strikers do not want to drop deep to help the midfield and defense. we need strikers that like to pass the ball and are selfless if SE is to continue with such setup which is a bad setup because the strikers are not scoring goals..

the other option is to start 4 midfielders and 2 strikers or 5 midfielders and 1 striker so that the midfielders will control the midfield and the game with their passing since the 4 strikers the SE is starting don't know how to control the game and midfield is too lean to control the midfield and so once SE loses possession there is usually space in the midfield for opponents to pass through the SE midfield which is why the SE concedes the first goal most of the time.

We conceded from set-pieces and not open play. And most of these have been as a result of bad goal keeping and poor defending. In as much as we are struggling to score, we should not also be letting in goals like basket.

Everything boils down to the coach. He promotes mediocrity. Bench is supposed to be for non performers but our coach prefers to reward mediocrity. While it's ok to defend your players publicly, JP should have benched Uzoho and any player that makes mistakes. That way you build seriousness and discipline.

Our shame is now a global brand.

Thank You Jose Peseiro, Amaju Pinnick and the current NFF Presido whose name I am glad to forget.

Courtesy: CBS sports

They forgot to add: the most valuable team in the continent.

I'm beginning to think that having players in the top 5 league is a disadvantage.
We are all to blame. The players, the coach, the fans.
Rhor started this conundrum of inviting the best. While this has resulted in good fortunes for the players, it has resulted in falling standard of play for the national team. No more competition in national colors. Once, you're doing well in your club you're guaranteed a spot in the national team. You don't need to do anything in the national team. No national team coach selects only the best but those who fits into his plan. If a national team coach keeps looking for the best in clubs, then he doesn't have a plan.

The players are made and care more about their legs and clubs. The players don't care about their performance in national team.

The coach ignores talents elsewhere and focus on the made ones. The fans urges them on with the slogan you must field your best. They forget about other parameters like talent, commitment and determination and focus only only on 'who do you play for'.

They forgot that in 1994, we had some unknown players benching well establish club players. They forgot that it took an npfl player to get us our third afcon trophy.

We are the Belgium of Africa, albeit a worse one. Belgium does beat minnows unlike us.

Mybettingtips:
Uzoho conceded from this distance. He had enough time to adjust himself for a dive. We really need to try other goalkeepers. Maduka made one error against Tunisia and we bin him since then. Uzoho has made more errors since he took over No 1 but our coaches just don't know when to bench him. How can you concede a free kick from here?

Wow! From that distance and people are claiming any keeper could have been beaten.

It's like nobody is blaming the keeper because if they didn't score, we would not have scored.

He has made the job difficult for the next coach.. Let's be realistic.. let's get a very good tactician and even if he fails to qualify us for the WC, let's accept the deed was already done with JP. we will need to be patient with the next coach.. but let's get it right this time, once and for all.. I don give up for AFCON and WC at this stage. If JP is not fired before AFCON, I'm done with football

No matter how good the next coach is, he will be blamed for not qualifying. That's the situation siasia had himself in.

If only Shuaibu Amodu were alive, we would have called him to the rescue again. He rescued us in situations like this twice only to get fired because of his style of play.

It's a reflection of the mood in the nation.
Players, fans, nff lackadaisical. Nothing matters anymore.
In addition, no TV station televised the match. Relied on Facebook to watch it live.

Barryseal:
I think we need to talk about how the passion for Super Eagles have died out in our lifetime. I've been active in a social circle in the last few days and not one person mentioned anything about Super Eagles.
Down the years it wasn't like this. You will know the result after the game just by watching the countance on the faces of newscasters after a game. If not for this thread I wouldn't have known we were playing world cup qualifiers.
What could have informed this apathy? Is it the economic hardship? cry
This apathy may have been responsible for the lack of seriousness on the players. Their attitude is not giving of a team desperate to have a meaningful impact at the global stage.

If same players are scoring in Europe but not scoring here. I'll think it's the system and not the players. The team is not balanced. Football is about goals but there's what needs to be done to get the goals. We need midfielders. How come it's only the coach that doesn't know this.

One of them has arrived. Calling white, black.

IWanLook:
The team's overall performance was commendable, but it's evident that luck wasn't on our side for this match. It's unrealistic to expect a complete domination against Lesotho, . The current lineup includes defenders from the English Championship and midfielders who often warm the bench in the Premier League, making their impact questionable. Notably, players like Boniface and Awoniyi have been struggling to score consistently.

In comparison, Lesotho seems to have better-prepared players who have experience in top South African leagues. While some may argue that the South African league may not be considered top-tier, the match demonstrated their skills and preparedness. It's crucial to acknowledge that football is unpredictable, as seen in Italy's loss to Macedonia. We should abandon the notion of superiority and recognize that every team, regardless of their status, poses a challenge in an eleven-versus-eleven scenario.

Unfortunately, economic woes is making Africa loose its best on a daily basis.

Whites don't read more than blacks. So many are ignorant. Until you engage them you won't know.

The only reason the white man is ahead is simply because they allow the smartest people to do what they know how to do best!

The system have successfully evolved such that bright minds and potentials are utilized. For example, putting a man that loves agriculture and with a massive entrepreneurial spirit can boost the agriculture sector of a state.

However ,in Nigeria and Africa at large; we are so short-termed,so short-visioned that we don't see the need to put people who knows their job in place.

Growth is naturally stifled sadly.

I will argue that if the west stop brain-sucking Africa.....stop resource-sucking Africa! Then you will truly see the growth!

Summarily, don't belittle yourself so much! We are fighting a serious battle so whatever growth we see we take! Nothing like Africans don't read!

It’s same with all Nigerian National Teams, They don’t protest on pitches for fouls being committed against them to earn the opposition cards, and they tend to play on like it’s nothing. When your teammate get fouled in the opposition box you won’t protest to atleast make the ref fear small and review. You just carry on. This thing dey vex me. The EPL is the best league in the world 🌎 but it's also the most diverse, its an international league with players from all over the world.

How many English players do you have in the EPL , look at the top teams, Manchester City can Field a team without a single English player.

So England not winning the world cup has no bearing on the quality of the league.

How many Brazilian, Argentine, Dutch, French players play in thier domestic leagues.

You are misguided with lack of knowledge.

Custodian of knowledge, you have a track record of worshiping anything EPL.

Your post implies the following:
1) English players are trash and hence cannot be found in top teams like Man City. But this is not true.
2) Being the best league in the world does not mean that some players in other league are not better than some in the EPL. Alluding to the contrary is error in reasoning - because EPL is best league therefore every player in EPL is better than others in other league.
2) that the league is diverse mean some players may not b so good but found themselves there. But the post I responded to said once you play in EPL that you're better than any other player in another league.
3) Of course England not winning means there are other things asides just assembling stars.

I've not seen a world cup winning team predominantly made of EPL players but I've seen one from the other top leagues - Spain, Germany and Italy. This is not to say that they are better than EPL but to show you somethines the best are not in EPL. Messi, CR7, Iniesta etc played outside EPL at their peak.

I don't really understand what is wrong with some of you in here, and who are these 20 olodos that pressed the "like" button to this biased post?

How could you draw up such a formation that would have Victor Boniface in the starting eleven ahead of a player that plays in the most competitive league of the world?

Don't come to me with that "system that works and who is best suited" crap of a talk because to me what matters most is the league a player plays in. Boniface has no right being above Awoniyi in the pecking order because Boniface plays in the Bundesliga while Awoniyi plays in the EPL, so it should be Awoniyi in the starting eleven, not Boniface. 😡

And England with 99% players in EPL are yet to taste world cup final since. Is everything about football about England? By this your logic, Sunday MBA should not have been close to the national team that year. And Enyeama should not have been our keeper while still at Akwa United.

The depth of my well is within the same range as yours. I use 1.5HP. You might consider that as well if you don't use it for commercial purposes.

I had a similar problem with the old pump of same 1.5HP capacity. My cable is 2.5mm. It is not ideal but marginally better than yours, but the old pump was consuming about 2.3KWatts. I use a 5kw inverter too.

When the pump died, the new one (Astral) is significantly more energy efficient. It consumes about 1.6KW or so. Also, the power draw is stable.

When the old pump (I don't remember the brand) was in use, its power draw fluctuated (as seen on the inverter and BMS) a lot, ranging from 2000 to 2300 Watts. So I guess the excess power draw may come from your pump as well. That said, you also need to increase your wire cable size.

For that distance voltage drop is more than 5% using 2.5mm2.
