over a 100 grand a year in pounds sterling don't u think thats a bit much for a holy man? Even if he dose give back i bet its less than 10% of what he earns. Since the church is meant to be charity institution and he's not giving charity he should be taxed 40% of his earnings like other businessmen earning the same amont of money.

Before a recent world cup qualifying football game Iranian football players were photograped wearing green armbands to show thier support for thier people in Iran. Iranian supporters also held signs saying "where is my vote" Up to four hundred protestors living in the diaspora have protested everyday outside the Iranian embassy in Kensington also holding signs saying ''where is our vote'' and anti govt banners

Ahmadinejad has tried to stop protestors organising demonstrations by blocking Facebook, Youtube and Irans mobile phone network. Text messaging also is blocked. But the protestors still manage to organise demonstrations by using twitter and word of mouth.

Now the purpose of this thread is not discuss whether Ahmadinejad won the election fairly and squarely. The purpose is to discuss the masses. The millions in Iran are fed up and want change. Ahmadinejad may even end up defeating the protestors and staying in power but then at least they tried. They didn't just sit down at home and complain like what we nigerians do.

What will happen if the masses in Nigeria felt the election had been rigged? NOTHING Apart from the masses praying for change, making statements like ''only God can save this country'' {as if God is going to come down from the sky to save the country} Reading papers and debating the election results with friends or typing in Nairaland etc etc. We Nigerians can't do anything.

So my question is what is it with the Nigerian masses that makes them want to continue to suffer in poverty? Why can't they follow the example set by the masses in Iran?

If na western country where this thing happened there will be protests on the streets for days by the masses {look at iraq for example} but we nija all we sabe do is pray to god to help us coz we can't help ourselves.
