Just explain what u meant by the ego. It would help me to understand your post better.

God Religion and belief systems were necessary back in the days when mankind couldn't explain caused a vulcano to errupt or what caused a tornado or rain etc, but nowadays that the whole world is like a global village you could be living next door to someone with different faiths or beliefs to your own which can cause conflict. And with the technology we have now to explain vulcanos rain etc religion and god is no longer necessary.

Well Christians lets face the facts if everybody was an athiest there would've been no 9 11, there would be PEACE in the middle EAST no war Darfur or war in fomer Yugoslavia and the muslims and christians wouldn't be killing each other in Nigeria. The last time we had a long chat thru yoahoo messenger i told her {not for the 1st time} that i had put her story in nairaland she thought i was joking till she checked the link that i sent to her email box and saw the story herself. I even put our yahoo conversation there and her number. She vexed after people kept calling her and promised that she'll never disturb me for money again if i help her with the 12'500 naira she requested for.

And i get the feeling that she won't bother me. She used to waste plenty money calling me. Sometimes i just waste her credit by not talking when i answer the call. Or just listen to her sob stories till she tired of wasting her credit. She sef know i don tire. Thats why i put the story in nairaland.

welcome to nairaland As for me i don't believe in god or any god for that matter. Religion is the opium of the masses especially for us africans. The masses think they can prayer, fast or speak in tongues their way out of poverty while they give their precious hard earned money to thier pastors who are experts at taking advantage of the situation.

Well mine is a true story. Back in the days in the 1970s my dad used to export morris minor car spare parts to nigeria from london. So since he needed a wife they decided to export one from his village to him in london

I think its coz they grew up in lagos. So as they grow up they're bound to be influenced by the christians who grew up with them. I even know a yoruba babe too who is now practicing christianity instead of Islam.
