Tevez set to seal Man City switch Tevez scored five league goals in 29 matches last season Manchester City have agreed a deal to sign former West Ham and Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez. The 25-year-old Argentine forward, who left Old Trafford last month, will sign a five-year deal subject to a medical. "It's terrific news," City boss Mark Hughes said. "He is an international of the highest class who possesses all the attributes to help drive us forward. "This is yet another deal that shows the commitment of the owner to make this club the very best it can be." Tevez, who will wear the number 32 shirt at Eastlands, spent a season with West Ham before joining Manchester United on an extended loan deal in 2007. His move to Old Trafford ended a long-running saga following complications with West Ham's registration of the player. The Premier League has ratified all the paperwork regarding his move to Eastlands having been assured City have sole registration of the striker. PHIL MCNULTY'S BLOG Is he better than what City currently have? Can they afford him? Yes, and most emphatically yes. Tevez, the only player to win the South American player of the year award three seasons running, won the Olympic gold medal with Argentina in Athens in 2004. He was at Old Trafford as Sir Alex Ferguson's side lifted successive Premier League titles, becoming a crowd favourite as he scored 34 goals in 99 league and cup starts. Tevez will become one of a select band to have joined both Manchester clubs and he could re-visit his former club at the Old Trafford derby on 19 September. United said in June that they were willing to pay the £25.5m to turn the striker's two-year loan move into a permanent five-year deal but Tevez decided to move on. Speaking after Tevez's decision to leave Manchester United, the player's advisor Kia Joorabchian said: "He has to sign the next five years with a club he believes has got ambition to go forward in the Premier League, a club with history and one that really wants to achieve things." Argentine international Tevez scored 15 goals last season but was often on the bench for key games and was wary of not getting enough first-team football ahead of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Manchester City's summer spending so far has seen them sign striker Roque Santa Cruz from Blackburn for £18m and Aston Villa midfielder Gareth Barry for £12m. But a proposed bid for Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o fell through - even though reports suggested the club was willing to make the Cameroon international the highest-paid player in the world, earning £250,000 per week. There have also been rumours that Chelsea captain John Terry is on Manchester City's wish-list, although Stamford Bridge boss Carlo Ancelotti insists the England defender is not for sale at any price. Rumours also abound that Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor will be offered a lucrative five-year contract. |

The pastor must defend his brother weda he right or wrong. |
doubleh:well then religion is the main problem the masses would rather pray in the hope that mister nobody will come down from the sky and solve thier problems. They beleive that everything dey mister nobody's hands. But they can't understand that mister nobody don't exist that everything is in thier hands and they have to hold thier leaders to accountability. |
@doubleh religion is the reason why nigeria is not progressing the masses would rather wait for mister nobody to come down from the sky and solve their problems instead of holding their leaders to accountabiltiy like in iran |
Even one of my ex babes was telling me to speak funi in front of her school friends just to impress them |
tunnytox:My mother and many of my uncles and aunties have been in the U K for over 40 years and still haven't lost thier accent. Its mostly to do with the current generation they come back to nigeria trying to impress the babes and thier friends with thier yankee dressing, money and fake british or yankee accents which to me sounds irritating and annoying. |
Hi my name is frank i'm based in london and i'm asking this question on behalf of my girlfriends elder sister who are both based in bayelsa state nigeria. She had a fybroid operation in which 31 fybroids were removed from her body 3 weeks ago. Since then she has not been able to eat properly whatever she eats comes out and theres a lot of gas in her body. So she was put on drip since she can't dijest properly. Her lower abdomen is always paining her and she's always running temperture and always cold. Her condition is getting worse gradually and we fear the worst. Since she's in Nigeria and Nigerian Doctors and Hospitals are not Western standards is there anything that these Doctors here are missing that you can let me know? Your advice would be sincerely appreciated. Thanks. |
