hello guys, which course is related to petroleum engineering on the SOL List?

If you come in as a temporary resident you can drive with your license until the day you leave but if you decide to convert your foreign license it can only be done after you have lived in Australia for 6 months and more. If you come in as a permanent resident you have 3months to convert your license.

If you don have your foreign license on you mean you have to start from the scratch (get a learner's license) that also mean you must have someone with an Australian full license to be with you in the car before you drive. To cut the long story short, it will be ideal for you to start the processing and arrange for the license to be sent to you ones it's out. Otherwise you have UpTo 3years to get an Australian full license if you decide to start from the beginning.

Please, I am moving to Perth and I had wanted to get a driver's license before I leave Ghana. But I have such a short time and the process is still time consuming even if you 'pay'. Can I get a WA licence whiles I get there as a student?

What is your advice please?

Yeah, I am in Perth and have lived here for about 5 months now, and I think it's time to give back to this forum that helped me when i was in Naija.

If you have any question regarding life in Perth, feel free to ask me, and to my guys in naija planning is key, I advise you to plan yourself well especially (financially) to do some certification course like aged care, so you can be able to cope with expenses here in Australia.

Check SOL list before choosing a course for masters.

If your plan is to hustle, your best bet is join TAFE, forget masters (Nursing is the best Tafe COURSE)

And finally never give up on God, hand over your plan to Him and his directions.

When you printed out yout My Heath Declaration Form. There was a bar code on the top right whi h also contained your HAP ID. U will be asked when completing the student Visa application to input that HAP ID if you have already done the medical.

I learnt it is way faster if you finish your medicals before your application than when you're requested by the embassy. It's even stated on their website.

Check your mail after u submitted ur application. It's a biometric document. I think it starts with IMMI s... Check your mail and read all the pdf's they sent. You will see what I'm talking about. Add your passport too.

You have to know that petroleum Engineering is not im the sol list, but in the csol list.. Meaning it has been removed from the main list but its still in the sponsored list. State Sponsorship takes a long time so you have to consider whether doing the masters will be worth it if you are going for pr. Take sometime to understand the PR process before embarking on a regretful journey.

I have an offer to start a 2yr MEng programe in Petroleum Engineering in Perth. WA sponsors petroleum engineers and its available on their csol list. I am planning to submit my application to EA for assessment even before I get there.

But I only did my National Service and dnt hav much experience, graduated in 2014. I dnt really knw hw to go about the Career Episodes and employment experiences.

Wow, I just checked the processing times and Ghana is now 10 weeks from 9weeks last week. My class has already started and my application ia open but medical passsed on 1st September. I did upfront medical, submitted my passport upfront as well but was asked to get another passport since the old one would expire next year.

Do a new one. Renewal takes longer.
You dont need to send both but you need an affidavit to buttress that both Passport belongs to you and then have the affidavit sent it with your new passport.
Thats what a friend did who lost his passport application and call for passport and he got the visa.

I'm not sure you will get the damaged one back from Nigerian immigration when you're issued a new one. But my question is, what sort of damage is that? Do you have any travel history/visas on the damaged passport?

The picture on the biographical page is damaged. These Canadians are very strict when it comes to passport conditions. Not much..just have had some trips to Naija and back. I'm a Ghanaian.

I just realized my passport has been seriously damaged. To cut long stories short I don't think I can use it anymore. It was the same passport I used for my Visa Application. Can I go in for a renewed one and send both when my passport is requested? Please, help needed.

Tell them you are a freelance teacher or writer. You don't need an employment letter because you're freelance and self- employed. Hope it helps

I was delayed earlier on the basis of not having insufficient funds to cater for my tuition and living expenses. I used my uncle's bank statement which had a little more than enough and an affidavit.

For my second try..
I am using the statement of my mum, her investment papers, lands of property and affidavit. I am also adding my new sponsor's statement of more than enough (he's my Uncle), his business licenses and affidavit, biographical page of his passport thou he and my mum have different sir names and an impressive letter of sponsorship.

Is there anything else you think I shld add to these documents? Response needed asap. Thank you.

He's your uncle. However, you can further explain that he's your uncle by marriage to your aunt. But seriously he's your uncle.

He should also explain this too in his letter of sponsorship.

Although he has proviced me with his confidential job licenses and other cofidential docs to confirm.

Write the amount he/she has declared to support you with.

If you have your own fund. Add the amount he/she has declared plus your own fund. That will be your available funds.

Basically available funds is just the fund that is liquidated and readily available for your stay and tuition fee in Canada.
