The last time I checked Borno State like virtually every where else in the North lags behind in nearly every index for the measurement of human progress and is heavily dependent on the FG which in turn is heavily dependent on the oil producing states. And the Boko Haram insurgency has only intensified the normal poverty and wretchedness which is part of the Northern Nigerian identity.
