GET THEM OFF ME
By Obiwon

(Y’know, I feel it’s about time I address all the people in my life putting me down
Snitchies saying Obi did this Obi did that. Shake that monkey off my back.
Now you too if you ever had such people in your life always putting you down…
then you need to join me in this. Come follow me. Case 1!)

Verse 1
Shortie calling me up telling me she know
how me and ma ex-girl be kicking when we partied
And the things we do freaked her head to foot
so she wondered what me and she could do
So I grant her secret wishes, did fine dishes
next she twist her freaky jelly moving up in my body
I play it cool following her every move
Two days later she brings her case and scandal on me

Refrain
(Get ‘em off, Get ‘em off, Get ‘em off, Get ‘em off )(8x)
(Why u wanna treat me like Kobe…
I didn’t ask for this…
Better mind your business now…
You brought this on me now…)

Hook
A kpana nwa agu aka, jide onwe aka
A zona nke mu, m ma zo nke gi
Ebe belu ugo belu nke julu aju ga-ada ya ebena m’oli
Okilikili bu ukwu ose ogaranya mmume mmume
Uwa ndoli ndoli, n tibe egwu mu o
E nyena m nsogbu,
Rapu ife talu n’anyasi k’obulu chinchi nwebe anuli

Oh ah oh ah (2x)

Verse 2
(Case 2!)
Girlie jealous bringing the raucous on
every number buzzing my celly every text from Dick and Harry
Please let me breathe, steady invading my privacy
won’t you trust or leave girl
Next I’m begging up in the club cos you say
me and your home girl was all dirty dancing well
If hanging with you is like prison with maximum security
I don’t need that romancing

(Case 3!)
These people telling me I ain’t keeping it real
what the deal cos I kick ma sh*t just how I feel well

Obi did the Hip, Obi do the Hop, Obi ripped it was bringing it non-stop well
Ever since Thoroughbreds, CCF, “Magnetic”
but it was R’n’B when the “Get ‘Em Up” single dropped
I’m flipping any style I’m older and bolder,
like Jay-Z I treat y’all just like dirt on my shoulder I…

Refrain
(Get ‘em off, Get ‘em off, Get ‘em off, Get ‘em off )(8x)
(Get you off me…
Gotta take this monkey off my back…
Well Well…
Get ‘Em Off Me…)

Hook
A kpana nwa agu aka, jide onwe aka

STREETS OF LAGOS
By Obiwon
Rap
Chics sell flesh just to get they “C.R.E.A.M”//
not the hustlers with the phone cards in the streets//
Pack bags in the heat, when the sun burns//
And the cops come then you get stopped in the streets//

Verse 1
It’s not like I was really born in these streets
But like these flyovers and bridges I gotta make my ends meet
5 early morning off to pursue my dreams
Weekday up in my crib I never seen no sun beam
I’m a hustlin’ man, up in this land, no time to front, I got big plans
It ain’t easy, gotta hit the streets, If I
want to feed or chill between the sheets

Refrain
So I, join the millions moving fast forward,
Lekki to Ikeja, Oshodi to Ojuelegba
when we, converge in the “go-slow”,
‘put down your window’
so we can relate,
start the business of the day
credit, gala, cd, buy what you may
and if we play a little game
don’t matter if you win or lose
cos your life or your money you may have to choose
(you may have to choose)
I guess you know the rules
(guess you know the rules)
better not be told, the streetz is cold
(the streetz is cold…and I’m)

Hook
Surviving the Streetz of Lagos
amidst the hustlers and haters and playas that I see…

Living everyday in the streetz of Lagos
Though I work the valley of shadow of death mercy me…

(still I work these streetz…)
(I still run these streetz…)

Verse 2
You slap or ride the water you’ll have to endure
So watch the flood and watch yours and watch me
Cos this might be my “area” boy
Ain’t got no mountain views but these refuse heaps
And these mosquitoes and flies serve for your birds and bees
So why you pull me over Mr. Police
You’re right, I’m wrong though my papers are all complete
So come with me and we can make more money
4-1-9 the richest road to your poverty
I’m a hustlin’ man, up in this land, no time to front, I got big plans
So so stress everywhere it seems, but I
Reject this defeat and so I…

Refrain2
join the millions moving fast forward,
Lekki to Ikeja, Oshodi to Ojuelegba
As we, converge in the “go-slow”,
‘put down your window’
One day I’m late
by Ozumba Mbadiwe
this Lagosian step to me for the business of the day
“Your watch, phone and money let’s play this game,
if you win or lose, it don’t matter
cos your life you may have to choose”
(who wants to choose!)
“Then you know the rules”
(Yes I know the rules!)
“Better not be told”
(I won’t be told, the streetz is cold…)

Hook

Rap2
The hustle goes on and you don’t stop, road blocks//
just to get the fortune stacks, brothers down round//
from the mainland down to V.I, just to get the B.I//
Walk the streets then sweat on your brow and its like wow//
gotta make a doe, cos we gotta blow, cos its grimy…//
(you know now)…you find them making moves//
Faking grooves if you get broke then that’s no go//
Streets up and down like ridges, even peeps under bridges//

The duo who broke into the Music Industry as winners of the 2002 Star Quest, KC Presh are back with a new album titled "No Time". The album is expected to be released sometime in the last quarter of this year. But the really interesting thing is that, it will not be released under the Kennis Music imprint. Why? The duo are reportedly starting up their own record label called KP Records. Is there beef with Kenny & D1? The answer is no! The duo claim that it was just time to move on. That's not all Kc Presh is up to, they also plan to unveil their own company called Sio Nkpo Entertainmnet. And have reportedly concluded arrangements with Cross River TV station (C.R.B.C) to kick off a music program dubbed: 'Trip With KC Presh'.

Dis Sisi (Ehen!) she like money (Ehen!)

Di thing wey she like , like dis dem no many

Scarcity, love for the cream

Make baby pursue money by any means

Change of title from "miss" to " Hajiya"

Mistaken identity- Ey yaa,

Verse II

For di love of money? Di root of evility? Di root of baddie?

But as night dey come, and day dey go

Night has it's secerts if you no know

Freaks come out at night better be warned

Man can't be trusted before dawn

Even in broad day light, we've seen Kasala

From village to city, big big wahala

In- between, we still find time to groove

Don't talk to strangers, dat na bad move

Some people, too like money

Di thing wey dem likelike dis dem no many

419 State OF Mind Part 2 by Modenine
Verse 1

Some call it 419 or advance fee fraud
I say it’s getting doe from greedy victims abroad
Without pulling a trigger contact or slashing with a sword
Lord go getters make their life better
By sending a letter breaking up the poverty fetter
It’s a pure con by a fax or an email
Proposing business that’s fake like a lee nail
It works mostly on the greedy now check the details
Book time to make sure your ass is on line
Choose a seat backing the wall so they can’t peep you from behind
If the coast is clear your ready for the 419
Type stuff like

"my name is Abdullahi Frank
The son of an army general, of very high rank
With thirty million dollars in a Nigerian bank
And I need your help to stash this large amount
I’ll Offer ½ of it, if you can keep it in your account
Cos the Government in my country is very unstable
And if a coup occurs I’m left with nothing on the Table"

It’s funny that some still fall for this fable
If your able forward this to many people
The greedy will reply to the root of all evil
When they do keep it formal organized a meeting
Borrow Ogaz office to impress those your cheating
Make it real from hand shake and smile when ya greeting
Verse 2

After the meeting the white man is rest assured
Goes back to the airport and flies back abroad
Meanwhile ya clothes were borrowed from or flashy cars hired
Uniforms borrowed from Army officers retired
Now back to the net to execute the final move
Tell the foreign businessman

"everything going smooth
But there's just one ini biti mini minor glitch
The CBN Director has to be bribed a bit
500 gram there about on the side of it
You can get that go head you won’t regret that
Don’t forget that your getting like 15 mill
500 gram ain’t nothing after this deal"

They send the doe and another problem got em sending more doe
Till they cash flow is on a low
“Reassure em” that its coming in tomorrow
Make dey proteck hollow at the end instead of getting fat
Now dey suicidal cos they didn’t smell a rat
When it was under they nose cos they greedy like that
No rewinding of the hands of time and no payback
Hey Jack you have bin out shined
By the scam referred to as 419
Now your cursing the day you went on line
Next time be weary of the internet deceit
If you see a strange email my guy
press delete!

Elbow Room by Modenine
Verse 1

My train of thought run you over when you on my track
Meaning I’m serving you off the court with what I spat
And I dare you not to put the beef back on the meat rack
Ya weak black roasting acting like you raw
You’re an Alby imposter cos you’re not Sure
While I’m on point like I’m sitting on the Score board
Swinging war swords, slashing up all you wack guys
Rap wise, I wear you out like running up a hill
Fatigue is not the issue you get tired by 4 wheels
I have no elastic limit I won’t yield
I got the game sealed controlling it ma foot on the peddle
Beefing show promoters who always try to meddle
Like floating particles in pure water we won’t settle
The lead’ll pierce flesh I executed the mind hit
Rewind it heads do that whenever I spit
Without there fingers in my toilet they feeling my shit

Verse 2

I emerge from the mist a lyricist with the urge
To start a movement so you real heads converge
So we can purge the Industry like we fed em laxative
Cash flow only real rappers will see Stacks of it
Relax a bit. I know ya feeling edgy cos you rime bite
You got the lemon and the torch I got the lime light
Read the sign rite before you battle M.O.D
Cos when I’m done I ma sign right on your P.O.P
I’m on T.O.P bite me en suffer indigestion
You are not objective like multiple
Choice questions you by ass Like ya patronizing hoes
I’m killing foes leave them bleeped up like free shows
Like ill Bliss en “em I’m a thorough bred breed
And theirs a need for you to take your leave like the
Neighborhood dope man selling wet weed stay like jodeci
And stand the risk of getting jet li’ed
Verse3

I don’t knock about or barge in so called me major interference
I come to make mc’s mum like one of my parents
My appearance at a show got ma foes darting
Cos they make me laugh hard like 30mins of Martin
I’m making more headlines than cornroles and partains
While you be puffing shit gas like greedy people farting
Most times when I’m done with it ya scared of starting
I put ma heart in the game blood plus my soul
Like a surgical transplant, my lyrics and my flow
Get me more hugs than skillful soccer players, scoring goals
I’m hungry like snoop in the deep cover of death row
So I eat rappers like they made of egg rolls
Keeping it real types always have to learn to let go
I keep it real for me not cos one young punk said so
My manifestos first line says I rock
im the head of state here to leave you in a state of shock.

Abuja Rocks! by Sixfootplus

Abuja Rocks!
We wrote the anthem…
Abuja rocks (4x)

Chorus

Abuja Rocks – you think say to rock na small thing?
Abuja Rocks – that's how we do it in the FCT
Abuja Rocks – if you feel the need come follow we
Abuja Rocks – Unh Unh !! Unh !!!

Verse 1

We're immigrants – came in from the four crannies
of the Republic, 2 and 2, the Mathematics
We're immigrants – gist has it that the original region owners
deserve more
We're immigrants – we came into town, bringing the sound,
holding It down believe it or not, we lock it down
We're immigrants – wanting to know who be di best, many test, but you
know we kill the contest
I scrape off the landscape for my recipe
made it shine, with XL the El D
got mad airplay many didn't know
that I was the one, Milli – Buggin' on their radio
Aso and Ray Power then, and then Rhythm
Then the Kapital and then the Cool FM
What there is to say about Abuja is much
Very much, can't tell it with the mic that I touch
Half the gist has never been told
And Salihu knows, I'm on the go like GO! GO!!
Gadget GO!
And since the aim of this city or town's to unify
To contribute our quota to this we're gonna try

(Repeat chorus 2wice)

Verse 2

Abuja is my city welcome to Rock haven
We metamorphosise like Robin into Raven
From immigrants to inhabitants we sharp points to hunt
I'll be steady rocking the joint
Democracy's here election's round the corner
(you're not gonna….?)
Oh yes I'm gonna …. Contest to be the Mayor
Call the media, posters everywhere
From post to post, Nyanya to Karimo
Make it known I'm holding it down so carry go
( Abuja Rocks!)
Aso Rocking in the place to be
Nicon Buffet, Dazzle us y – you na mean?
( Abuja Rocks!)
Surrounded by rocks we rock cradles
We're gonna find the formula, lay it on the table
From stables breeding the finest stock in the land,
When e hot, e hot, when it's dry it's harmattan
I, the Pied Piper leading mice outta town
You know the tale, it doesn't matter penny or pound
I got the sound, to make it jump – from city gate
To city gate, cutting across all states

(Repeat chorus)

Verse 3

We rock in Areas and Zones cool as Ice on cones
Garki the Area, Wuse be the Zones
Mama Cass cast a foody spell now we are hooked
‘cos every time we come to eat Mama heavily booked
And then there's Roses and Etta's and Afi's too
One man's delight is another man's chicken brew
What's your delight, Aso or Carribean?
Whether you're Ameri-African or European
When the winds are fair we rock there or at the Root
Puss in boots cat-walking never giving the hoots
I Spy Bars through Grand Mirages and Safaris
We close the shop, guaranteed to rock a party
An intricate web I weave call me Net Voyager
I'm in D'Mitrix, I'm in Dre's who be your manager?
Is it ACAC or Moca Club House?
An indie entity or a group straight from the rock house?
I leave you guessing all you see is my back
Rap- attacked, paid dues, now the dues pay me back
My name is Six Foot Plus call me Mr. Big Daddy
Fa shizzle ma nizzle I be the Pappy

Repeat Chorus and Fade Out

Tuface is naturally talented as musician no doubt, he'll still make waves but, I don't think as much as the debut solo album was. I heard from a reliable source he did a song in this new album with Sparkle. I wish him the best!

I think if we're talking about a Nigerian artist that has retrogressed over the years, it will definately be Tony Tetuila. The new album is out but, who cares, who wants to waste his cash on something not worth listening to. It is time Tony realises the fact he's not talented as musician and find something better to do with his life.

Music/RadioModenine(the Lyricist)'s Lyrics by Manta(op): 7:49pm On Sep 06, 2006
Elbow Room

Music/RadioRe: Modenine on fire!!!!!!! by Manta(op): 7:29pm On Sep 06, 2006
Modenine has never for once being against commercial albums nor rapping in pidgin but, going wack to be commercial. For the fact he said he'll drop a commercial album does not mean he has compromised his set standard. He can still be commercial but still more real than ever; just the beats that gets one still bobbing with incredible lyrics and eloquent flows to get deeper into the hearts of Nigerians and the wide world, this will even bring better opportunity to sanitize the hiphop world.
Music/RadioRe: Who's Got Lyrics: Ruggedman Or Modenine? by Manta(m): 11:45am On Sep 01, 2006
Modenine in a recent radio interview said, 'even your grand mum will go for modenine's next album'- that is to show he really wants to go commercial as he promised in Spazmodic, and that he has being misunderstood by many who think he's against pidgin raps which he's not- only wackness.

Another interesting thing is that, Ruggedman's next album will be out before Mode's so, incase of any diss from Rugged as it's speculated, mode will definately reply. After all, in the same radio interview, he said 'I'm being silent because my name has not been mentioned yet'.

Hear Mode in a recent radio interview "even your grand mum will like to by mode's next album" and on the anticipated Rugged diss at him, he said "my name has not been mentioned yet, I'm waiting to hear it mentioned".

Modenine's Pentium IX(a fresh mixtape) with 21 tracks is out and hot. The production is basically done by Jonah the Monarch with songs like 'Pentium IX', 'Gentle Wind' and 'Pains'  featuring Amaka of the Thoroughbred, Pissing me off, King of the Jungle, Blimey, Underground King feat. Cashino, Spazmodic feat. Terry the Rapman etc.

Mode in spazmodic promise that  his next album soon to be out later this year will be 'commercial'.  who know if it got some club bangers going by the calibre of producer his is working with presently (Cobhams, Jonal the Monarch and Paul Play) on the much anticipated album titled “E pluribus unum” (one amongst many).

Music/RadioRe: Age Beeka: the man behind 'Angelica' by Manta(op): 1:02pm On Aug 07, 2006
Seun:
Can anyone supply the lyrics of 'Angelica' here? That will be so much appreciated.
I'm looking for the wings so we can fly away
I'm coming cos I need you to know how much I need you
For the skies drop the dew every time I see you
Few have got what you've got, won't be wrong to say- non does
And pondering where you come from
came to me the revelation.

Oh, she's an angel(she's an angel)
Oh come from heaven, Oh angelica (angelica)
She's an angel(she's an angel)

My heart knows ease when I'm around your breeze
(when I'm around your breeze)
Cool pull that gets me full in a brand new boom
Well, I'vecome to the end of searching for the one whose made to love forever?
And to be loved with all and all

Oh, she's an angel(she's an angel)
Oh come from heaven, Oh angelica (angelica)
she's an angel (she's an angel)

Don't pass me by if you go I could die,
don't want to be wondering about Put me in the light of your heart,
of your life: in ministering spirits and flaming fire(s)

Oh, oh, oh,

Oh, be my angel, (be my angel) oh, come from heaven
Oh angelica (angelica) be my angel (be my angel)
Come from heaven, come from heaven,
come from heaven, come from heaven

I'm looking for the wings so we can fly away.

I also tip Age Beeka ahead of the others, though very tight too. The 'Bottled up', 'Angelica', and 'Girl of my dreams' tracks are so tight.

I also heard he has got a new album out titled 'collecting flowers' any info?
Music/RadioRe: Rugged Man Or Modenine, Who's Tight And Who Is Tighter by Manta(m): 12:48pm On Jun 12, 2006
Both Ruggedman and Modenine are good in the game of rap. While Ruggedman produces joints mostly for the naija market though very tight, Modenine does his more general. I've heard Ruggedman is about bringing out 'ehen pt 2' aimed at dissing Modenine and thorough bred, I wonder how the lyricist Mode will take it though.

Blackface of the plantation boys, the guy behind 'hardlife' I know him so well and like his music too. But, I haven't heard of the nu joint 'ahead of the game'. I only know he as a member of the TRYBUNAL released an album titled 'what we are'- I'm so anxious to hear any thing new from him.
