I cann't even die for my own self let alone someone else. Human beings are so dubious, they cann't be predicted; the same person that tells you he/she loves you cos you are the only person in their live turns right beside you and says same to some other persons. As a matter of fact, I don't believe in true/real love between the opposite sex, how can it be for it's subjective? |
what do you want to do with record labels and studios? |
Eedris had his own time and is now out for his own company(Lacreem), another rumour is making the rounds that 2Face will soon be out. After 2Face is out of kennis music, who will be the next hot thing to come out of it? Not Tony Tettuila nor Rasquie I think, maybe Marvelous Benji or Azadus if you ask me. But in case you have a different opinion, air it. |
I heard his album 'Letter to Mr. President' is out. I haven't heard it though but, I've been informed by a friend he got tight beats in there. |
Advinchi you heard from where and what is the foreign based music company? You have to be sure about what you say |
I prefer Ruggedman, sixfootplus, pheroshuz and peacemaker(female) |
It's about 2years back, these guys came up with a debut album titled 'Danfo Driver'- each family or household in Nigeria had either a radio cassette, CD or VCD plate of the album as even the smallest child responded to 'suo' while the album played. These guys are out with a second album, if you have heard this new one, can we know if these guys were/are really good or mere opportunist. |
my most favorite Naija songs- Angelica by Age Beeka Iyese by Bravo D It won't end by Jerimiah Gyang Millenium Bugging by Sixfootplus |
d1twista, here is a point of correction- the guy Chibuzor Orji,is not face but Faze. He is very much around.
|
The members of the group Plantation boys; Blackface, Faze and 2 Face are definately some of the best in the country at present- though each has his own unique pattern of music, the fact still remains they all very good in their various fields-each has a solo debut album. To sing well is good while writting songs with better words, lyrics and concept is something else. If you have been opportuned to hear all the three now that they have all gone solo, who do you think has better lyrics? If you ask my opionion, I rather go for Blackface. |
It's the Kerewa guys, the Zule zoo with the Takuluku beats again, they came at first with Kerewa, followed it by Chin kpan and Chin kpan reloaded is next. I watched the vcd last night and I was like whaoooh, these guys are good; the dance steps, concept, beats, rythm, costumes, scenes etc will really get one screaming and never wanting to see the end. The vcd got tracks like 'jam jam', 'peace song', 'bad belle', ' sweet 16', 'I don't give a damn', 'chin kpan reloaded' etc. Have you watched it, lets know your opinion

While I still work on uploading the 'Age' album, you can feel Age Beeka's touch on Yelena's album 'Good things coming my way' as he is the brain behind almost all the tracks. Visit http://www.yelenasongs.com/music.htm

It is still Age

WHO SINGS ABOUT THE STATE OF THE NAIJA? For those of you that are keen listeners to music from Nigerian artists, most of our musicians now sing about the present state of Nigeria, our country, the land of our birth. Fela did it sometime back, the present generation is still doing it in a different style and pattern. I have observed fellow Nigerians love such songs and the artists more- this could be because such songs speak their mind; say some of the things affecting them which has been on their minds for long but cann't speak it. These artists are so many but, these I can remember for now: Eedris Abdulkareem in 'Nigeria jaga jaga' Blackface in almost all the songs in his debut solo album(Ghetto child) some of the tracks like 'hardlife', 'e the pain me', 'show me the way' etc African China in 'crisis', 'Mr. President', 'how long' etc. Mode nine in '419 state of mind I & II' Sixfootplus in 'Wahalife' Marvelous Benji in 'Situation' 2Face, Wyclef, Soundsultan and Faze in 'Proud to be African' These guys are so many, I just can remember these few for now so, incase you've heard any of such songs and it trips you, let us know about it, the artist and any other comment. |
There is nothing like true love between the opposite sex. It may be found between people of same sex like the case of David and Jonathan. What is true or real is not subjective to factors nor circumstances- love is: distance, time, communication, attimes money e.t.caffects the effect of this thing called love so, how true is it then. It is only developed when two minds give their time to it, self control is also very important in maintaining it. |
Yeah Bricklayer, I agree with you in total. These guys from Benue, Jos, Abj and Kaduna states are tight, they dominate the naija musical scene with good music- they've made Lagos what it is. If any one doubts, contact me and get a comprehensive list of the who -is -who in Nigerian music and you will be suprised. bricklayer: |
I heard Ja-Rule and Kelvin Little will soon be in Nigeria mid- December, courtesy of Nigerian Breweries. |
Also, here is one of my most favorite of Age's song 'Girl of my Dreams' Ayah, yah, yah,... In your walk, in your talk in your work, I'm stirred up In your smile, in your laughter, in your eyes, even anger When you say yes, when you say no, when you sit or when you stand. I'm captivated, I'm elevated, sometimes sedated, and I know I've found the girl of my dreams Girl of my dreams, girl of my ... the girl of my dreams She resides in my heart, she resided there all the while, all I needed was just to spot the one I had a perfect picture of what she looked like spiritual birth in the physical Then I see you, I feel you and I want to take your hand cos I'm captivated, I'm elevated, sometimes sedated, and I know I've found, the girl of my dreams Girl of my dreams, girl of my ... I'm bathing in the blue blessed streams of spring I'm excited , I feel like I can jump and touch the skies I'm bathing in the blue blessed streams of spring I'm excited , I feel like I can jump and touch the skies Baby say yes, please don't say no, in my world you are in hot demand Baby say yes, please don't say no, when you shake and when you dance I'm captivated, I'm elevated, sometimes sedated, and I know I've found, I'm captivated, I'm elevated, sometimes sedated, and I know i've found I know I've found, I know I've found, I know I've found I'm captivated, I'm elevatd, sometimes sedated, and I know I've found, the girl of my ... Dreams |
delarontus:Jerry Gyang is from Jos but Age is not, though he is based in Abuja(when in Nigeria) he is an indigene of Benue state. |
For those that have heard the 'Angelica' track from Age Beeka, here is the lyrics. I'm looking for the wings so we can fly away I'm coming cos I need you to know how much I need you For the skies drop the dew every time I see you Few have got what you've got, won't be wrong to say- non does And pondering where you come from came to me the revelation. Oh... she's an angel(she's an angel) Oh come from heaven, Oh angelica (angelica) She's an angel(she's an angel) My heart knows ease when I'm around your breeze (when I'm around your breeze) Cool pull that gets me full in a brand new boom Well, I'vecome to the end of searching for the one whose made to love forever? And to be loved with all and all Oh... she's an angel(she's an angel) Oh come from heaven, Oh angelica (angelica) she's an angel (she's an angel) Don't pass me by if you go I could die, don't want to be wondering about Put me in the light of your heart, of your life: in ministering spirits and flaming fire(s) Oh, oh, oh... Oh... be my angel, (be my angel) oh, come from heaven Oh angelica (angelica) be my angel (be my angel) Come from heaven, come from heaven, come from heaven, come from heaven I'm looking for the wings so we can fly away. |
I got the 'Age' cd in my house, I listen to it daily cos I love it. I really want to share it with others but, how to upload the songs to this forum, I don't know if any one has the idea, pass it to me and you'll hear 'Age' well. That guy is tight, he is the future of Nigerian, African and World music- he's good. 'girl of my dream', 'angelica', 'bottled up'- these tracks are so very good ![]() |
All over the world, before a musical artist releases his/her work(album), demo or promotional tracks are given out to the public to creat awareness to the coming of such art, recently released albums or songs are also played most on radio and TV stations. Nigeria is certaintly not an exception so, where you are, which Nigerian song(s) 1s/are enjoying air play on radio and TV stations; what is really hot and fresh in your area? Tell NIgerians about the music you're currently enjoying. |
With a soft voice, sentimental flows and wonderful lyrics. Plays the guiter with great dexterity as he performs life on stage. Has a debut album 'Age' to his credit and presently, I'v heard is working on something new. The debut album was more of rock, rythm and blues with tracks like 'growing younger', bottled up', 'scars', 'Angelica', 'everyday ', 'girl of my dreams', 'now' ...... Produced by Jerry Gyang and Age himself for Uptime music. For those that have heard any of his songs, you'll know what I'm talking about; so while we wait for his second album produced by G-linx, let's know what you know and feel about Age.

Why not? Reuggedman has nothing against 2face, he honoured 2face's invitation for his birth day- it was even at 2face's birthday celebration KK asked Ruggedman what he has done to him to deserve such insult. They can do a collabo when they both feel it's time. |
The zule zoo have wonderful dance steps, energetic and creative. They try to promote the culture of the Tiv tribe from Benue state- with the traditional attires, most of the dance steps, the pipe organ in the music and the traditional setting in the video. Infact, for those of us that love Nigerian music, the Kerewa track is good to be watched. I heard they are to visit France for performance tour, I wonder what the white man will understand by 'Kerewa' ![]() |
With the official commissioning of La-cream records, the former member of the Remedies, controvertial nigerian rap artist and the man behind 'Nigeria jaga jaga' Eedris Abdulkareem is out of Kennis music and now on his personal label with 20 artist signed from different parts of Nigeria at the moment. While every one is anxious to hear what comes next after the popular and much loved 'jaga jaga', Eedris' giant step at doing his own thing with his new label has kept him going with 3 tracks on his promotional CD; 'letter to Mr. President', 'the 50 seconds show' and 'flash unu lighter'. Where will this decision by Eedris and his cohorts lead to, will La-cream succed without the hype and promo of 'big bros'? Nigerians, what do you think, know or have to say about La-cream records?

In the 80's and even 90's, we were made to listen to any kind of music made from Nigeria and since there was little or no competition at all, we considered some junks as been ok and good. Naija musicians have now grown and it's time the wheat is being seperated from the chaff assuch, some of those opportunists of 'those days' that know very well they are not talented musically are begining to bow down and out quietly as we no longer feel their noice. If you know any of such musicians, why not share with fellow Nigerians as I go back to compile a comprehensive list? |
See Bravo D crowned in the picture as the King he truely is- THE PACHANGA KING with friends and fans at the Benue State University Makurdi after one of his performances
|
He is from Benue State, does afrohiphop and dresses mostly in Tiv traditional attires on stage. Some things that distinguishes him from other Nigerian artists is his own invented dance steps or pattern refered to as 'Pachanga', sings so well both in his mother tongue and the English language with his baritone voice, and occasionaly spices up his tracts with some raggae raps. Has one album to his credit with tracts like 'talk talk world', 'thank God', 'fellow Nigerians', 'mama mzamber we' etc. and presently working on something new The 2 demo tracts from the new work 'I love Nigeria' and 'Iyese' meaning scorpion in his mother tongue are both enjoying air play on radio stations basically in Benue and the FCT. Have you ever heard any of his songs, watched his video or watched him performed live, how do you see him? |
Really, the group Psquare is good. Thier music, the dance steps, the video(get squared and bizzy body)..... But one of my best tracks from the 'get squared' album is 'oga police'. check out these lines oga police ooh wetin be this ooh? you just the stress me the vex me na which kind yawa be this ooh? why you doing this ooh? ooh lord see wetin I the miss... You can get their their Pic, music, lyrics and news at www.psquareworld.com |
It was my second semester in my second year during Tiv day celebration in school when Bravo D- this Nigeria artist with a self invented dance step called Pachanga had to perform and I was opportuned to meet him life. He spoke niece with his baritone voice, clothed in the Tiv traditional attires and accepted to each snap shot as there were many requests. |
Ruggedrecords again! One of Naija's rap wizards Ruggedman and Naija R n B sensation C-mion are into a 12 tracks collabo album to hit the streets very soon. Incase you cann't figure out quickly who C-mion is- that R. Kelly flavored voice that did the chorus in Ruggedman's 'Kokos song' hear him; I hear the chicks in the club they're calling for me ...... What do you expect of the album? |
