Don’t mind him.

Amaechi or Ogbonnaya Onu is APC candidate for 2023.

But I would even like APC to dare field a northerner so that their trashing can be bigger.

With a northern candidate, the Southwest, who is their only ally in the south, will vote against them in protest.

So also will the Southeast and Southsouth not vote them (they are already anathema down here).

If they however field a Yoruba man, PDP will field a northerner. And with northern votes and the vote of SS and SE, PDP will trash them.

So whichever way APC goes, it is f***ked!

The quality of healthcare will decline steadily, because, nobody will do slave work for free, and the basic job of taking history and bedside assessment will suffer. No one will complain if he doesn't bring that one time in 20 times. But surely people will complain if he doesn't bring in his second visit.

I sha have seen from this thread that this thing is about upbringing, but it may transcend into nonchalance if not checked. A guy who gets a free pass for not bringing gifts when visiting his future in-laws may end up not bothering to bring a gift at their wedding anniversary or celebration.
Honestly, U are on point

It's just common here on nairaland to see people insulting others for no good reason. Visiting an elderly woman for d first time empty handed is a no no. Their is a popular saying dat first impression matters a lot

We are Africans. Let us be honest with ourselves.

A man going alone to visit his would-be mother in-law empty handed is a red flag. Something to worry about.
What was the purpose of the visit?
Even as a female, it is still wrong to go visit the mother of the man you're going to marry empty handed.

Nairaland GeneralPoverty Mentality Some People Have About Life by Manty(op): 2:06pm On Mar 02, 2015
Many people today lacking in will and determination to succeed have negatively psyched themselves into believing desiring good things and a qualitative life is tantamount to lack of contentment and greed.
They have convinced themselves that poverty and lack are top line attributes of humility. Cheap things and low quality living are prime indicators of modesty and contentment. And being poor and experiencing difficulty financially make them more spiritual and naturally increases God’s love and mercy for them over the rich and prosperous.
Many financial strugglers believe they are better in character and morals than the rich and there is an awkward air of spiritual superiority they carry over the rich and blessed.

Hence they are quick to pray extensive and deep prayers for the rich anytime they need a helping hand. In fact many poor relatives of the rich believe God is blessing the rich amongst them primarily because of them and when at times the rich can’t do all they want for them, they take offence.
Many poor people see the rich as worldly, greedy and non-religious and generally believe the rich are responsible for all the ills in the land and are to be held responsible for the uneven distribution of wealth in the world.

They hold a dangerous opinion that rich people are bad and poor people are good and should the opportunity arise they will punish and deal with the rich ruthlessly. Hmmm.

Dear friend, you will be surprised at how popular and rife this opinion is among the not so rich people. It appears there is this non verbalised conspiracy amongst the poor and financial strugglers to hate the rich and punish the rich and betray the rich and hurt the rich when there is an opportunity to do so.

They feel very comfortable with this though and mind-set ignoring the truth that being good or bad has nothing to do with financial status.
They forget there are many mean and wicked broke people around them as well as mean and wicked rich people; they also wouldn’t accept the fact they have very good poor people and very good rich people around them. Being good or bad has nothing to do with money.

The frustration of their state of lack would not allow for objectivity because they can’t just stand it that what they find difficult to accomplish, other people seem to be accomplishing with ease. So they conclude all rich people must have stolen or a dubious and are cheats and deserve punishment. They keep believing the bases for every wealth is filthy.

So when they see a lovely car, a well-dressed person, a beautiful house, a quality life style, instead of been inspired and motivated, they judge and immediately begin to imagine negative things and wonder about the source rather than give credit to the achiever and the successful. Hmm.

Jealousy, strife and envy; having a blanket opinion that all rich people are thieves or criminals does not change you or improve your circumstance.
That believe does not pay your rent when it’s due, it does not pay your children’s school fees, it does not build you your own house, it does not pay your hospital bills when it arises, it does not protect you from financial embarrassment, it does not make you honourable in your family and your community, and does not earn you respect and dignity. Hating and criticizing the rich offers you no benefit what so ever.

Thinking poverty is a symbol of humility and holiness is the greatest delusion and self-deceit of all times.
Poverty makes you a victim of circumstances, victim of abuse, oppression, ridicule, scorn, rejection, disdain, disrespect, abuse, shame and unwarranted insult. Even God hates poverty.
My dear friend, you can be rich too you know. You see, people attribute fast and easy success to luck. When they meet young people who appear to have succeeded very early in life, they conclude it’s all about luck or further more – conclude they’ve been predestined by God for it.

You see, the almighty does not predestine our actions; if it were so, God will not hold any human being responsible or accountable for any action either good or bad because he made them do it in the first place, so he can’t judge, blame or reward anyone; he would be unfair.

You can’t make me do something and still blame me can you? God actually predestines the consequence of our actions and inactions, either good or bad, so when you act, you experience God’s pre-ordained result for your action, and when you don’t act you experience God’s pre-ordained result and consequence for your inaction.
That’s why and how the power to choose still resides with mankind. The power to choose is always ours, that’s why we are accountable and we can be judged.

You see, everything that happens in life is a consequence of a choice and a decision. Successful people are always taking action for success; large or small they take action quickly and frequently. They know alright they may either fail or succeed, they don’t let that stop them they still take action anyways thereby increasing their chances of success in pursuit of their dreams. They succeed because they make more frequent attempts than others.

People who fail focus more on the probability of failure so they do nothing, people who succeed focus more on the probability of success and even when they fail, they take responsibility, learn from it and try again, doing it better this time till they succeed.
People who are not successful hardly attempt anything, blaming people and circumstances for their refusal to take chances.
You are not broke or poor because you are designed that way, unlucky, religious or humble, you are broke because your attitude to risk is low, your attempt rate is low and you lack the will and determination to work hard enough, learn hard enough, come up with enough ideas to change your situation.

You’re probably still broke today because you’re mind-lazy, laid back and too timid to try and change your situation.
The ultimate success principle is to come up with results and solutions people are willing to pay good money for. It’s not just coming up with an idea, a product or service, nooo. It’s coming up with it in a most appealing and attractive way to get customers switching from existing products and paying good money for the alternative you’re offering. Don’t just come up with anything, come up with something powerful and sellable; if you know what I mean.
Your attempts determine your success rate, try nothing you get nothing.

Get up today and do something, stop grumbling, complaining and crying over the rich that cheated or the corrupt. You, decide to become rich without cheating or corruption. After all it’s your life and the gains or pains will be exclusively yours eventually, do what is right, everyone has a reward. Attempt something great today.

Enjoy your day.
Romance6(six) Practical Way To Woo A Lady by Manty(op): 10:33am On Mar 02, 2015
6 Ways to woo a Lady
Are you tired of chasing the opposite sex? Do you want to turn the tables and have them chasing you instead? With a little practice, it's easy to master the skill of seduction. A little confidence and playfulness may be all it takes.

Steps

1. Stop being needy. Neediness and seduction are mutually exclusive. The more desperate you are, the less attracted they will be. The very last thing you want to do is make the person feel pressured. If you want to seduce someone who's quite independent, you may also benefit from learning how to tame a free spirit.
Even if you feel neediness coming on, don't give in. Think of it this way: Your needs will be met at some point down the line, but maybe not now. Delayed gratification.
Get a devil-may-care attitude when you're seducing that special someone. Be, within reason, a little bit reckless: Do something a little risque or unexpected to keep them guessing. Maybe go out to the beach in the middle of the night. Maybe go on an unannounced trip for a couple of days. Try to cultivate a little bit of mystery.

2. Be playful. Smile. Flirt. Touch. Tease. Don't be too serious, people enjoy having a good time. Have fun with this person. Enjoy the game.
Studies have found that a playful attitude makes people more attractive.[2] Playfulness in males signals non-aggression, while in females it signals youth and fertility.
Humor, too, is another crucial aspect of your personality that plays a role in attractiveness. A study has found that women are more likely to give their phone number to men who use humor[3], while men too perceive humor as being an attractive trait in women.[4]
Be able to make fun of yourself. People generally don't like other people who can't take a joke or get offended when anything bad about them gets said. Don't be that person. Be able to take criticism in stride. Hey, if you dish it out to other people (and you should; playfulness is attractive) you should also be able to take it.

3. Don't be always available. People enjoy being with other people who have exciting and interesting things going on in their lives, because they feel happy at the prospect of someone like that sharing their precious time with them. So what will you achieve if you are trying to meet with them or talk to them every moment? Nothing. It's best not to overwhelm the other person with your time, and let the relationship unfold at a more measured pace.
On some occasions, if a person asks you for a date, don't immediately agree. Say you'll check your calendar first, and then agree. Even if you have nothing going on, play it cool. That way, your social appearance will be enhanced by a simple trick.
That being said, fill your calendar with real events and real people. There's no substitute for the real thing. You'll actually be happier and feel more fulfilled if you're out and about than if you're sitting at home twiddling your thumbs.

4. Make an effective use of body language. Move confidently. Most people are not attracted to wallflowers, but to people who are sure of themselves. Don't forget to smile and, if possible, make body contact when appropriate and not intrusive.

Use your body language to flirt. If you're not Shakespeare-skilled with words, don't fret. You can send subtle signals to people you want to attract, depending on the social situation. Don't be afraid to touch someone's arm or shoulder lightly when you're talking to them. Physical contact by men actually increases the temperature of women, sometimes by a whole degree Celsius.
Use eye contact to flirt. Eyes are incredibly powerful tools, so use them wisely. Lock eyes with your date when you're talking; there's nothing that screams confidence like a good look into someone's eyes. If you're using eye contact to flirt, however, don't scan the room staring at every person. People want to feel special, so learn to locate a few candidates and shower them with your eye-attention.

Use suggestive messages. If you're sending notes, texts, or email back and forth, learn to communicate calmness along with a little bit of intrigue. Instead of saying "Hey, wanna grab coffee later on?" try something a bit more suggestive: "Having some cravings, and they may have to do with you. I'm in the mood for coffee, you in?"

5. Don't be a completely open book. Leave something to the imagination. You should not share everything about you with the other person: mystery is always attractive. It makes people realize they don't know the whole you, and this secrecy will give off a seductive aura.
Resist the urge to tell this person about your entire life story, and especially your parents. Not that parents aren't great; they're just not very seductive!
If you're being forced into telling a little bit about yourself, stick to vague bits, not specific details. You can explain where you came from, how you grew up, and what your plans were to save the world, but put it in conversation form instead of a big, long essay.

6. Be patient. Wait for their desire for you to catch up with your desire for them. Believe that it's only a matter of time, that they just need to discover how awesome you really are. If you don't believe that, then you can't seduce anyone. But the fact is that we naturally become attracted to anyone who we feel comfortable with, makes us laugh, and is slightly out of reach (because of the thrill of the unknown). It's human nature.

Good Luck
