How much would it cost to have a self hosted website that people have to put themselves at the mercy of blogger or wordpress. With 5,000 you can have a self hosted website up and running. I believe it's the fear of the unknown that makes people stick with what they currently know. iamdsam: Linda Ikeji has been around in the blogging world blogger to be precise for a while now and she hasn't had any problem of any sort like that with blogger. I believe there's more to what made blogger to deactivate or scramble his site. He might not want to reveal the whole truth. |

Thanks for the post... I agree that lots of people still find it difficult to "risk" their money by making online payments... Nigerians prefer Cash on Delivery |
Let's wait and see what happens... |

Blind fools.. anonimi: Business must be getting bad for Adeboye, really. Why are you people so envious? When this man was suffering no one came to Nairaland to make mention of that. Now God has blessed him and all tongues are set wagging... The path of the just will keep shining brighter and brighter unto the perfect day (Prov 4:18). |

Microsoft have this "old" tag on them. They need something revolutionary to change that outlook. Let's see if Windows 8 would change that... |
But seriously, WordPress should come with your webhosting account and from there onwards it should cost nothing to maintain. Besides there are loads of free plugins that would make your blogging easier. I use it on my blog and I know it has so many benefits, |
Hi Everyone, I've gone through a couple of websites I found here and I've discovered that most if not all are HTML-based, My question now is: Is it that people are ignorant about Wordpress powered blogs or they are just not comfortable with it? My blog is WordPress-powered and I can't seem to explain the benefits enough. So I'm kind of surprised that people still pay high prices for static web pages. I would love to know your take on this, Thanks! |

You're quite right xposure. There are still a lot of mistakes that can be made while blogging but I've got limited time here. Nice short tips you've given here xposure. |
Hello Nairalanders, I just want to know what you people think about schooling. People all over the place refer to schooling as education but in my humble opinion, I think it is actually a form of education. It gets me turned off when I overhear people emphasizing on going to school as the most important yardstick for success- the next being luck. I am not downplaying the importance of schooling to education as a whole, but it kills me to see people getting trained not to make mistakes but in the real sense of it, failure(in most aspects of one's life) is a better teacher than success. John Updike said: "The founding fathers in their wisdom decided that children were an unnatural strain on their parents. So they provided jails called school, equipped with tortures called education" and H.L Mencken said: "School days, I believe are the unhappiest in the whole span of human existence. They are full of dull, unintelligible tasks, new and unpleasant ordinances, and brutal violations of common sense and common decency" and Galileo said: "You cannot teach a person anything; you can only help him find it within himself". I am not illiterate as you can see; I would be resuming as a freshman at O.A.U. at the end of the month to study Computer Science with Economics. I am not saying this out of pride but just to tell you how unhappy I am with the all the fuss about schooling as the main criteria for success in life and this is done at the expense of some important areas in life. I would really like to know how you feel b'cos it's all driving me nuts. |
Goldlink. This is a really nice post. You've outlined the xteristics needed to really become wealthy. Thumbs up. ![]() |
