How much would it cost to have a self hosted website that people have to put themselves at the mercy of blogger or wordpress. With 5,000 you can have a self hosted website up and running.
I believe it's the fear of the unknown that makes people stick with what they currently know.

iamdsam: Linda Ikeji has been around in the blogging world blogger to be precise for a while now and she hasn't had any problem of any sort like that with blogger. I believe there's more to what made blogger to deactivate or scramble his site. He might not want to reveal the whole truth.

Like Buyam.com.ng and Fb Likes : 10, 347 (Growing) and Mystore.com.ng (Provide Both Services Sell as well to Buy online) (Fb Likes 26,178) their social popularity growing day by day .

Thanks

I agree that this list isn't comprehensive enough... There are many other sites growing in popularity by the day that have been left out from this list.

But still, this is a good start.
Thanks

I'll say choose the one that would take u closer to your goals in life. Don't just choose because of the financial gain offered. You should ask yourself "would it add value to my life?"

coolzeal: This is how they keep deceiving the poor masses from their hard earn money and some coward will defend them using that fictitious book called the bible to justify their actions.. Blind fools..
anonimi: Business must be getting bad for Adeboye, really.
How long ago was it he said no tithe, no wedding. That was after he CLAIMED to have driven 300kms (i.e. Lagos-Ilorin distance approx.) without fuel in his car.

Somebody shout Hallelujah.

Why are you people so envious? When this man was suffering no one came to Nairaland to make mention of that. Now God has blessed him and all tongues are set wagging... The path of the just will keep shining brighter and brighter unto the perfect day (Prov 4:18).

@OP God judges... If you have any grievance against Ps Adeboye you shouldn't resort to bad mouthing (on Nairaland to do that). You are getting things very wrong and you need to repent real quick... Some people's judgement catch up with them sooner than they think. Repent OP, I repeat REPENT!!!

Business / Why Doesn't Your Website Run On Wordpress? by Manuelcrc(m): 12:47am On Nov 25, 2011
Hi Everyone,

I've gone through a couple of websites I found here and I've discovered that most if not all are HTML-based,

My question now is: Is it that people are ignorant about Wordpress powered blogs or they are just not comfortable with it? My blog is WordPress-powered and I can't seem to explain the benefits enough.

So I'm kind of surprised that people still pay high prices for static web pages.

I would love to know your take on this,

Thanks!

Education / Misconception Between Schooling And Education by Manuelcrc(m): 3:14pm On Nov 20, 2008
Hello Nairalanders, I just want to know what you people think about schooling. People all over the place refer to schooling as education but in my humble opinion, I think it is actually a form of education. It gets me turned off when I overhear people emphasizing on going to school as the most important yardstick for success- the next being luck. I am not downplaying the importance of schooling to education as a whole, but it kills me to see people getting trained not to make mistakes but in the real sense of it, failure(in most aspects of one's life) is a better teacher than success.
John Updike said: "The founding fathers in their wisdom decided that children were an unnatural strain on their parents. So they provided jails called school, equipped with tortures called education" and H.L Mencken said: "School days, I believe are the unhappiest in the whole span of human existence. They are full of dull, unintelligible tasks, new and unpleasant ordinances, and brutal violations of common sense and common decency" and Galileo said: "You cannot teach a person anything; you can only help him find it within himself".
I am not illiterate as you can see; I would be resuming as a freshman at O.A.U. at the end of the month to study Computer Science with Economics. I am not saying this out of pride but just to tell you how unhappy I am with the all the fuss about schooling as the main criteria for success in life and this is done at the expense of some important areas in life. I would really like to know how you feel b'cos it's all driving me nuts.
