LiteratureGood Advice To Continue Writing In The Face Of Challenges by marenx(op):
"Don't  give up."
Even you, you won't like to publish crap writing to represent you or your business, will you?—though struggling for perfection kills....
If you're called to submit your writing to be published on the front page of, say, Vanguard or This Day—you can name them—do not be afraid.
Your quality of writing depends on the quality of writing you read.
Trust your writing first.
If you're still pessimistic, know that people are still—and still—making it in writing.
To make it too, don't rush to publish your writing. Instead, let it rest for sometime, nomatter how it looks. You'll love it.
I know even if the best editors on earth edit your writing, you may still see it's not how you want it to be—only because you're too close to it. Give it, say, 3 or 4 years, you'll thank your editors.
After writing, make all necessary corrections, print it out—but I usually have another copy in my hand writing—and save it in your distant place. Swear you won't read it until after sometime.

LiteratureIf You Find It Difficult To Write Better, One Of These May Be The Reason by marenx(op): 9:52am On Sep 18, 2017
If you find it difficult to write better, one of these may be the reason

I've ever said most successful, Nigerian digital writers don't make friends with Nigerian writers—they work with whites.

The reason could be:

First, they don't want to write for local audience alone: now the world is a global village.

Secondly, you can't write a good story if you're not reading one. This means, the quality of your writing depends on the quality of the writing you read.

Writing is like song. If you always listen to bad songs, you'll love them and take them as your favorite. If you love modern, local music, for example, you won't believe they're of low standard—though not all of them.

To write better I don't only read Nigerian writers like Chimamanda Ngozi Edichie, JP Clerk, Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka; I read European, American, Ghanaian and South African writers as well. These are apart from dozens of blogs I read about writing.

Thirdly, if you have a Twitter account, if you search for #writing, the result may be: whites appearance talking about writing are 98%.

Where are Nigerians?

Because—with oral tradition dominating everywhere—many Nigerians are still yet to love writing, you'll discover you've to make friends with whites to get the kind of recognition you deserve.

I'm not an exception. Almost all my friends on Twitter are white writers and publishers.

The fact is if you follow Nigerian writers on Twitter, sooner or latter you'll realise one is not consistent. Today he's a writer. Tomorrow he's a sport enthusiast. Next he's a political commentator. Assuming you follow him for updates about his writing journey—as white writers usually do—he's now no more important.

The final point is, local audience discourage aspiring writers because they too don't understand the difference between good and bad writing. If a blind man leads a blind man, you know, the result is...both will fall.

Kelvin, thanks for the goodnews. I always love to be with writers, whether aspiring or not, but most Nigerian writers make friends only with whites or overseas. I will check there in no time.

“Use Nairaland.com or any other online forum to your own advantage.”

sure.

Everyone can say what he wants. We’re in democracy.

Or even in dictatorship some people said what they wanted.

If you’re a writer—or an aspiring writer—perhaps you know a writer wants people to read his work from the start to finish and share. If he achieves that, he writes happily, doesn’t he?

I’ve never got reasonable likes and shares eventhough I am still a happy writer.

If you’re an observer in writing field online, I suppose you know most bloggers pay to have their writings on the front page. In other words, they buy likes and shares.

Even if you write like expert, no matter how strong is your voice, if only few see your writing…we’re not in the age of manna from above.

To help aspiring writers, like me and you, Nairaland.com offer audience free of charge (but to take advantage of them depends on how you write your h1 (title).

Though, through your post, Nairaland.com may get more visitors, you own the power to make the visitors dance the way you like. If you can do this well, remember, “If he achieves that, he writes happily, doesn’t he?”

Literature4 Words To Make You A Successful Writer by marenx(op):
"Let your writing rest."
If you proof-read your work day and night—day and night—it may become empty. It will wither away.
Go back, read your old Facebook or Twitter updates. Now you can know the best among them.
Writing, you don't need to go for too much corrections because you can miss the craft.
Patience win.
Creating relationship how-to I applied strict revision, numbering all the sentences and treating each individually. That day my 1500 words reduced to 800. After a week only 500 words. Some months later, 300. What if I let all rest? It wouldn't have withered away.
Let your writing rest if you love it, it will remain yours forever.
If you are with me for a long time--say a month or two--you know writing I love is simple and juicy. Nothing more. But nomatter what I write, I save it untouched for days.
Slowly I edited all my works—through this method.

Jokes EtcRe: In boarding school He Is Pepper To His Juniors And See What Happened To Him... by marenx(op): 11:20am On Aug 09, 2017
4.

As I became very angry, I began to think of what to do, then I remembered I had a new razor in my pocket. So I had to try something very important, but I had to fight these boys if not they would kill me. When the boy came to flock me again, I held the belt and drew it forcefully until he fell like a goat. And when others came to revenge, I held two of them and, as I clapped their heads together, they fell like cloths chased by the wind and all the rest bowed.

Then I wanted to reach the other end of the large intestine but I couldn't walk. So I crawled and, when I reached there, I thought of how I could tear this large intestine with a razor because the wall looked rough and hard, but when I fixed the razor to try, it was as softer as a fur. I made a large window and, through it, saw 4 dinosaurs coming to swallow the lion with us inside and the lion was running and crying because of the wound inflicted on his body so I did not attempt to leave.

I regretted but, when we reached close to the river, I jumped out and fell inside the water. And when the dinosaurs came, they stopped very close to me and roared before they left.

Gradually, the river turned to a large body of water while I was not out and all this while I did not know where I was. As I made a move to go out, a large creature carried me with its teeth which looked like an exaggerated disposition of skyscrapers and swallowed me, and it took me about 48 hours to reach its large intestine. On my way, over 50 dinosaurs, flying like eagles, hunted me, but each time they neared me, they ran away as if I was not smelling good because, you know, I came from the lion stomach.

7.

Reaching down, I saw nothing but water which the creature drank before swallowing me, so I sank deep until I reached the end. Then slowly I began to come up, and when I came, I saw a large ship slowly passing by. It could be dangerous but when I thought It was the creature that swallowed it, I thought maybe it was good people inside and so began to swim toward it. When I reached the rim I saw a ladder and accessed it to the top but someone was evacuating water with electric pump and thanks he did not see me. I saw a staircase and followed it down to the last floor up. As I saw someone in a nursing cloth, I hid and she walked in the corridor with an alarm clock. Perhaps there were casualties of the great fall, but that was none of my business.

8.

When she entered room 5, I wanted to walk in the corridor toward the end but I was damp, soaked with thick blood I got from wounding the lion, and I looked odious and, perhaps, scaring in compound wears. So I decided to remain there, but later I thought I rather looked for help and I started walking in the corridor, walking as if my left leg was poor.

Reaching the next window, I saw 10 starved dogs barking in chain, tongues out like shoe landings and their eyes were like that of humans. When I heard "Hey!", I fell on the floor and pretended I fainted and after some seconds someone carried me on a stretcher to the casualty room 2 because I heard him said casualty room 1 was full. I prayed may God prevent them from injecting me because I was not feeling sick and my eyes were closed.

9.

When a nurse ordered the stretcher man to put me to bed, the man said he felt I was strong and advised her to wake me up. Ofcourse, she woke me up, but I refused to open my eyes well until after a few minutes. They told me to come down and I did. The gave me cloth and showed me a room to go and bathe and wear it and I did. They gave me slippers and told me to wear them and follow them and we entered casualty room 1, and to my surprise I saw Kanu on a sick bed with a bandage covering his belly.

Jokes EtcIn boarding school He Is Pepper To His Juniors And See What Happened To Him... by marenx(op):
1.

I had to show my juniors all the punishments they underwent through me were to shape their lives for better Nigeria and the best thing I did will forever remain in their hearts even in their graves.

I knew it was not funny or a joke when I left the better parts of me with them although I heard a frightful eternity of criticisms from SSS2 students but it was only because they were jealous they were not my beneficiaries. And they were lucky I graduated, if not I would have given each of them indomie noodles of 20 strucks of electric wire on his buttocks.

So from the day I was given a liberty or this mandate that there was no any student above me and any student under me was my subject, I began to show my juniors that I was giving them good training so at the end of my SSS3 they would have something to show the world and at the end I was and I am glad I did.

The following is what I left for them and I believe they have shown the world.

1. 3 razor cuts behind their necks, a sign I gave them so that when they finally become teachers or lecturers, you will see them with them when they are writing on the board.

2. A piece of broom I used to flock those who refused to wash my boxers with their soap. I flocked them on their joysticks.

3. An electric wire I always used to flock them with as part of the training.

So with all of the above, I hoped my juniors can form a mini museum of their time with me in that government college and tell people the exact things that transpired.

2.

The hand work I taught them was easy and our hostel was close to the heart of the city, so shipping was not a problem. My seniors taught me and I have started the business when I was in SSS1 and the success was surprisingly high since I could miss lunch and dinner without any complain.

I know this is something you should know because it can produce million of jobs for the teeming youth that is why I am saying it here but we were making use of hostel resources ranging from electric switches, power points, installation wires as well as fire extinguishers and getting the buyers was as easier as crossing the government school fence.

Here is how I taught them. After new wires, switches and power points were reinstalled and I had turned round and noted things were normal, I gathered them and informed them about the task at hand and thanks none of them tried to reject the idea (afraid of flock) and we shipped together for the first time through the fence.

3.

With all what I was doing, making my juniors better citizens of Nigeria, one boy Kanu was not satisfied and tried all means to stop my breath.

I gave him indomie noodles of 10 strucks of electric wire after he pooed and refused to flush the mess and he swore he would show me something.

After a night prep that day, I discussed with my girl friend at the senior staff parkinglot and forgot night was deepening. Or it was him who spiritually made me forget. And it was midnight when I began to run to the hostel.

In our hostel there was a place you must pass to get upstairs where I was located and that place was always quite even in the afternoon time as if something was going on there. No wonder, the white man who plan this school structure might be a cultist.

When I reach there that night, I felt weak and my heart told me to pray but I could only say "In Jesus Name" when I heard a slap that up to now I don't know if it was a hand that made it, so sound like thunder. Next, what I saw was the face of that boy with long teeth like eagle claws. And he was holding my hands.

First he laughed terribly, and I raised the other hand as a sign of surrendering but he didn't care. I prepared for the necessary thing to do which was running away, but that was when he transformed to a huge lion roaring to attack me.

Of course I was afraid but tried to prevent myself, but I couldn't overwhelm this kind of a huge creature and the result was that he swallowed me. Lion only tears your neck, sucks your blood and eat you, but this one swallowed me.

Fortunately, everything went well. In his stomach I met 10 junior students whom I flocked yesterday for failing to greet me, wailing with knashing of teeth inside hot rice and beans that he ate. One of them, the most greediest one I must tell, held a spoon and as if he was eating; but they didn't greet me eventhough they knew I was their senior. They were all angry.

I asked them what brought them there and one of them while wailing told me to be careful or else they would kill me. Of course they asked me to kneel down inside that rice and beans and I did because they were resolute to do what ever they meant. Their faces were terrible.

What made her ass chocolate? Is she naked? If so, if it is a video, can we see her ass while she sits?

Look at it once more, 'Her chocolate, firm ass was on the edge of the staircase that led down to the doorway.'

How can a clock become biological, eg: 'Her biological clock was ticking, as she loved to remind him. She was thirty going on fifty, in her head.'

The advice is: don't say everything. Remember what makes a good story is suspense, concision and what is believable.

Thanks you published it here. I also learned more through people's comments.

And look at the important sentences you made, and these are the type of sentences that make international standard stories: show, don't tell:

*.His girlfriend was visiting her friend in Abuja.

*.She was free to do what she wanted to.

*.They had spent five blissful days together skinny- dipping in the beach, shopping, and going to clubs.

*.Nkechi’s dress bunched up around her waist.

*.Now they were together again.

You are surprise that I chose these sentences as the best. Yes, they are. You don't know how sometimes it is difficult to get them. Making this type of sentences are the real secret.

All the others don't arrest the reader.

Sometimes, creativity is really difficult. That is why most creative people are celebrities.

Let's meet another time. We can exchange contacts to make good sentences to blow readers. I am now editing my short story. And I can spend a year making every sentence better like the ones above. Sometimes, I said, it is not easy. The point is let's be criticizing sentences instead of wasting time.

Thanks.

Story line: Nkechi, an unhappy married lady, is getting excited with her old boyfriend.

Adultery. Infidelity. They never thought what they were doing have something to do with any of these. They enjoyed themselves. It wasn’t a matter of their staff or partners not taking care of business, neglecting them, or failing to do the needed--they just were enjoying each other’s company.

She needed the time away from her husband. He needed the time away from his girlfriend, the lady who wished he took her to the altar. Her clock was ticking, as she loved to remind him. She was thirty going on fifty, in her head. To hell with what was right or wrong, to hell with the penalties.

As now they were together again, No more deceits, no more dishonesty. It was their time. As they bleeped on the steps of Tayo’s house everything came to a halt.

While his girlfriend visited her friend in Abuja, Nkechi had used the excuse of going to the island on business, one of her countless trips back into his arms. Someone once told her husband she had another lover, but he didn’t care.

If he did, at least he didn’t bother. She was free to do what she wanted. Not that they had an open marriage, but as long as she kept her affairs out of his face, everything was cool.

Nkechi had made another of her rare trips to see Tayo, and they were making up for lost time. They had spent five blissful days together skinny- dipping in the beach, shopping, and going to clubs. Oh yes, and then there was always fucking, which was what they were doing now.

Nkechi’s dress bunched up around her waist. Her ass was on the edge of the staircase that led down to the doorway. They supposed to go to the airport, so Nkechi could return home. She had told her husband the night before that her meetings were going well, and that she would arrive around nine the following night...

The time to give her good hope

February 5, 2016 by maren john mafuyai (Dating Expert)

Ah, hope!

It’s what keeps us patient and makes us happy at all time.

How do you give a girl good hope?

Knowing the right time to perform it is good. But performing it unfaillingly is better.

To get things easier, manage her as you manage your client for the same purpose (of a good relationship).

In business you maintain your client to continue gaining patronage. In a relationship you do the same to consistently attract her attention, making her feel without you she’s incomplete. And she’s right.

How do you do this?

Simply know the time to give her good hope and the time to remain quiet as if nothing is going on.

What’s the right time then to give her good hope?

During your earlier meeting.

Begin to keep her in suspense from the beginning of the story and you’ll get her attention.

In business giving a client hope in the beginning is done through success story. In a relationship, however, turn the success story to the following:

*. Tell her about your successful parents and siblings.

*. Tell her about your successful relationship with friends.

*. Tell her about your successful moments in life.

Tell her all in story form in the way she won’t code your trick.

Something like the following sentences help a lot if you say at the right time.

*. I often think I don’t know why I am always successful in all I aim, though I never aimed what’s impossible.

*. In our family my sister is the first to travel abroad.

*. God had put me in a fore front in any competition I participated.

*. My former boss needs me again after realising I’m the person he can trust.

*. I thank God every where I live I start small. But after a few years, I live like a king.

When is the right time to remain quiet?

When she talks.

Give her maximum attention.

At some point, nod or say “Aha” or “Huh”
CrimeMan Rapes Two Daughters by marenx(op): 9:42am On Jun 26, 2016
A HARARE man has appeared in court charged with raping his two juvenile daughters over a period of five years, reportedly telling them it was a father’s duty to teach his children how to have sex.

The 44-year-old man, who cannot be named for to protect the identities of the victims, appeared before magistrate Tendai Mahwe who did not ask him to plead.

He was remanded to June 28 for his trial.

The case was reported to the police by an anonymous person after the girls’ mother approached her church elders for help over the matter.

According to prosecutors, the father started abusing his children in 2011 when the younger one was 7. The elder daughter is now 21.

Court heard that he would allegedly rape her younger daughter nearly every Wednesday when his wife would have gone to women’s prayer sessions at her church.

The abuse would also take place every time the man was alone at home with the girl.

According to prosecutors, the man would tell the victims that it was every father’s duty “to teach his daughter how to have sexual intercourse”.

The abuse came to light in May this year when the younger girl told her mother about the attacks.
Court heard the mother then sat her two daughters down to learn exactly what had been going on.

That was when the other older girl revealed that the father had also raped her on several occasions.
Art, Graphics & VideoEditing: Creative Writer Or Sculptor by marenx(op):
Observing a sculptor when caving his work, I mind how he was careful not to spoil it and count how he observed it time to time.

While this is his editing process and I am glad I take note, I can't tell whether it is difficult like editing a book or essay, but here are three things I consider:

*.From the beginning, a sculptor knew the part he should shape.
*.If it is a goat, he knew a goat very well.
*.His materials are there and he knew his limit.

These observations shows that what makes writing similar to caving are outlines and detailings, and they are amazing.

Editing both writing and sculpture is not easy although writing is more confusing.

'Sometimes you can make grammar or structural mistakes even if you take the utmost care to avoid such mistakes,' said Gary Ron Meuller an Expert Author of EzineArticles.com.

Nomatter how professional you are in writing it is almost impossible to edit your work perfectly yourself and this is calling for proofreading services.

While a writer edits and proofreads his work and each activity is a profession itself which needs a professional, I find no reason why writing is not complex than caving.

Gary maintains that proofreading services can make you successful in your business since it can give your website a professional look, adding that care is needed in hiring a proofreader, eventhough there are crafty ways to fish out the best.

Gary went further to suggest one of the best ways to get the best proofreader it is to ask writers who have bought a proofreading service before because they knew someone who can give them the best.
CrimeMan Burns 'cheating’ Wife's Privates With Burning Log by marenx(op): 7:00pm On Jun 24, 2016
A MVUMA man went into a rage and allegedly burnt his wife’s privates after “discovering” that she was having an affair with his brother.

Morgan Kombani, 37, appeared before Mvuma magistrate Vimbai Makora charged with domestic violence and theft.

Besides physically abusing wife, Moline Mwanza, Kombani is said to have killed two beasts belonging to his brother, Michael Kazomba, as punishment for sleeping with his wife.

The court heard that on March 15 this year, Kombani, upon discovering the illicit relationship, assaulted Mwanza all over the body before burning her privates with a log on fire.

On June 6, he then went to his brother`s homestead where he allegedly took two beasts and drove them to his own homestead and slaughtered them.

He was however, seen by his brother`s wife, who notified Kazomba, and the matter was reported to the police.

The cops conducted investigations and discovered two carcasses at Komboni`s mother`s homestead. The two beasts were valued at $1,200.

Appearing in court, Komboni pleaded guilty to the domestic violence charge.

He however denied stock theft, arguing that it was a family decision for him to take his brother`s beasts as compensation for sleeping with his wife.

The trial continues Friday (June 24).
