It baffles me how how someone with conscience will wake up and decide to commit this kind of atrocity. 22-year-old pregnant housewife, Aisha Abdullahi, pictured above, was found raped and murdered at her home in Kano yesterday January 20th.

According to Sahara reporters, sources at the Kano state police command say the husband, Abdullahi Mohammed, came back from an outing and met his wife defiled and in a pool of her own blood. The state Police spokesperson, DSP Musa Magaji Majia, while confirming the incident, said a full scaled investigation has been launched by the police.

It will be recalled that two weeks ago two men were charged in a Kano Court for the murder of a housewife. Another case of a murdered housewife was reported in Ungogo Local Government Area (LGA) of Kano State in December of last year as well. The deceased, who was known to be pregnant, was found in a pool of blood when her husband returned home and discovered her body.

My dear, is not everybody that is as enlighten as u and i. I have an anti that nearly fail for the scam of Okonjo-Iweala before she told me about it and i know told her it is a scam. That my anti love to help people and she has an orphanage. One day Okonjo - Iweala contacted her in the vice to make her orphanage internationally reorganized.

She almost paid the purported Okonjo - Iweala the N4m she requested to get some papers done and all that and that was when she told me. Hmm no be small thing ooo. My anti didn't even believe me and even with her Phd, she couldn't figure a simple scam out. I now told her to ask the said Okojo - Iweala to send her account number; that she will see that she will ask her to pay to his accountant not her. And low and behold it was what the scammer said.

And the problem with this people that read upto Phd level is that they find it difficult to believe what others say. They think they know it all. I asked her a simple question, do you think real Okonjo-Iweala will ever have time to reply her facebook conversation every minute of the day considering how busy she is? she couldnt answer and she told me she spoke with her on phone self.

I laughed. well i saved her life and she doesn't play with again since then

This is total uncalled for and outrageous. A group of about 16 women bared their buttocks and stormed into the offices of the ANC (African National Congress) in Tshwane, SA on Monday Jan. 18th morning in protest.

According to Pretoria News, the women were protesting the outcome of an ANC branch general meeting held at Lebelo Primary School in Hammanskraal on Sunday.

They claimed that bouncers bearing pangas and firearms removed them from the voting process to elect a new branch committee. The bouncers had apparently slapped their bottoms and dragged them away before they could vote on the orders of ANC regional deputy secretary, George Matjila.

More 60 lives have been lost across the country, to the deadly Lassa Fever disease since the first occurrence was reported. Leadership Newspapers reports that a male patient who tested positive to the disease has escaped a Hospital in Ebonyi state. This might be a very dangerous situation regarding the fact that the disease can be transferred through contact and other means.

Speaking on the incident, the minister of health, Prof Isaac Adewole said the patient must have escaped with the help of the officials in the hospital. He also urged the state government to try their best to manage the disease.

Adewole said “He should be traced and taken back to the facility. He should be reassured that he will live if the treatment is done promptly as he could not have absconded on his own without the support of the health officers.” The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) recently declared the outbreak a national epidemic.

Government should do more in securing the lives of the uninfected ones in the society by keeping the infected ones quarantined.

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) to give relief materials seized from smugglers in it warehouses to Internally Displaced Persons, (IDPs). According to the para-military public relations officer, Wale Adeniyi, the comptroller general has set up a national committee that would coordinate and manage the movement and the transfer of seized relief items to give effect to the President’s directive.

“It is important to stress that these items are only those that have been condemned properly in the competent court of law and have been forfeited to the Federal Government of Nigeria. “They include food items like rice, vegetable oil, spaghetti and essential items like soap, used clothing materials, mosquito nets, beddings and others,’’ he said. Mr. Adeniyi said that members of the committee were drawn from Customs Service, Army, Air Force, Police, Immigration Service and the EFCC.

According to him, the customs boss also included some NGOs, civil society organisations and the media to give the committee a measure of transparency and credibility. However, he said that the distribution of relief items to the IDPs would slightly be different from the previous ones the service had done. “This time around, our targets are not the IDPs camps; our targets are the IDPs themselves who are in these camps.”

“We expect that the exercise will take a period of about eight weeks and the trip will start very soon. “The exercise is going to be slightly different from what we have been doing before because we want these things to end up directly with the end users. “We are going to be working with state governments, community leaders and other relief agencies to ensure that these items get to the IDPs in a secure and transparent manner,” Mr. Adeniyi assured.

Two weeks after the formal introduction of the Treasury Single Accounting (TSA) system in Sokoto, the state government said it has uncovered the sum of N1.5b lying idle in 100 redundant accounts belonging to it in various commercial banks in the country. The state commissioner of finance, Alhaji Umar Saidu, who stated this in Sokoto Sunday while giving an update on the system's implementation, said government is determined to trace and close down all dormant and inactive accounts operated by it.

He said since the introduction of the TSA, there has been a massive improvement in the reconciliation of public finance figures between the government and commercial banks. This, according to him, has reduced risk of errors in reconciliation processes and has enhanced timeliness and quality of the fiscal figures from such accounts. The commissioner said the introduction of the TSA has now enabled government to regularly monitor public cash balances while at the same time ensuring higher quality cash analysis from all accounts hitherto operated by the state government and its agencies.

He added that more analysis are being undertaken efficiently and at regular intervals. He said the full benefit of the new accounting system would be felt when the implementation of the 2016 budget starts. The document is currently undergoing legislative action with state House of Assembly.

Celine Dion’s brother Daniel has died aged 59 after losing his battle with cancer, just two days after the singer’s husband also passed away. Daniel Dion died this morning, just a day after his family revealed that they believed he had just hours to live.

Celine’s husband René Angélil died from throat cancer aged 73 on Thursday. Daniel had been suffering from throat, brain and tongue cancer. He was in hospital in Celine’s native Montreal and surrounded by his family, including 88-year-old mother Therese. ‘They’re close, she’s close with all of her siblings,’ a source told the Montreal Gazette. ‘It’s hard.’

‘Céline is still in Vegas with her kids making plans for [her husband’s] funeral,’ a source told People following the difficult loss. ‘It’s a typical grieving process. There’s moments of shed tears, moments of memories and laughter.’ His funeral will take place at St-Simon-et-Jude de Charlemagne Church in Repentigny, Quebec, CBC reported. ‘His last days were in the wonderful care of the doctors and personnel at Maison Adhémar-Dion, a palliative care center in Terrebonne Québec,’ Daniel’s obituary read. ‘For those wishing to send flowers, a donation to that organization would be very much appreciated.’

It also read: ‘Battling cancer for a few years, it’s in the uttermost discretion and surrounded by his family that Daniel Dion, 59, died today, January 16. He was the eighth child of Thérèse and Adhémar Dion, brother of Céline.’

On Friday, Celine’s sister Claudette had told the Journal Of Montreal: ‘It’s very painful. It’s a matter of days or hours. It looks a lot like René, he had cancer of the throat, tongue and brain. Our family is very experienced.’ The star will resume performances on February 23, but she announced on Facebook on Friday that she will host a celebration of his life at the Las Vegas Colosseum on February 3.

René was Celine’s manager before they got together. They first met when she was 12 and he was 38, and began dating seven years later. Angélil’s funeral will take place on January 23 at Notre-Dame Basilica in his hometown of Montreal – the same cathedral where the couple wed in 1994. A public viewing will be held the day before.

Calls for Mr. President resignation championed by the opposition party PDP has been making linelight recently and following Buhari's outburst with the parents of the missing Chibok girls yesterday, that calls have been reinvigorated. The main cause for the calls for the impeachment of President Muhammadu Buhari though is the over Nigeria’s alleged missing 2016 budget, the All Progressives Congress (APC) have given the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) a venomous and resounding reply.

APC dismissed the call for the impeachment of President Buhari as “comical”, stressing that the whole propaganda was nothing but a cheap ploy to taint the image of the ruling party and to hamper the progress of the current administration.

PDP asked the National Assembly to impeach the president, and called for the resignation of the finance minister, Kemi Adeosun, and budget and national planning minister, Udo Udoma. The party also demanded the resignation of the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele. The PDP attacked the president Thursday, January 14, after the senate accused the presidency of altering the 2016 budget.
