Popular Nigeria comedian, Bovi has jumped to the defence of President Buhari but asking Nigeria citizens to be patient with him. The current events in the country has had its citizens groaning; fuel scarcity, the fall of the naira in foreign exchange markets etc.

On an interview with comedian Bovi at the ongoing Nigerian Entertainment Conference where he asked for patience from Nigerians to allow government implement its plans and agenda for the country. He said:

“I think they need time. Every government has issues like this when they are just starting out. There are always strong and weak points of setting up government. There is no government we’ve had that people don’t complain in Nigeria so it is all part of democracy. I believe they really deserve to be given time. I don’t think anyone goes into government with the sole intention to make his people suffer.”

He also gave his opinion on the celebrity beefs that has rocked the entertainment scene since the beginning of 2016, the latest being the drama between Linda Ikeji and Wizkid.

The Osun State High Court has sentenced a monarch in Osun State, The Loja of Araromi Otokobo town in Ilesa, Moses Adeniyi to seven years imprisonment for rapping two teenagers who were students of St. Margaret School, Ilesa. After thorough prosecution by the state Ministry of Justice, the Ilesa Division of Osun State High court found the 70-year-old monarch guilty of the offence levelled against him.

The traditional ruler was arraigned in court on 28 of March 2011 on two charges of rape and indecent assault. The matter had since dragged on, until Thursday that the final judgement was delivered. The prosecuting counsel from Osun Ministry of Justice, Mr Tijani Adekilekun proved to the court that the accused committed offences, contrary to and punishable under Section 358 and 360 of Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol.11, Laws of Osun State.

The presiding judge, Justice Kudirat Akano in her judgement expressed disappointment in the accused and sentenced him to seven years imprisonment at Ilesa maximum prison without option of fine. The prosecutor told the court that sometime in May 2010; the accused threatened the girls with charms, forcefully deflowered the two girls, raped them together in a room and warned them not to inform anyone or else they would die.

According to the fact of the case, the accused gave the girls a ride in his car when they were returning from school. One of the girls was 13-years-old then while the other was 14-years-old. Instead of dropping the girls at their house, he tricked them and took them to a hotel where he deflowered them. The accused was said to have used a white handkerchief to wipe the blood from the vagina the girls when he deflowered them and warned them not to disclose to their parents.

The ongoing trial of the senate president took another turn yesterday as CCT Chairman near jailed one of the lawyers in Saraki's defence team. I would have jailed saraki's lawyer yesterday but for the intervention of other lawyers in court. Mr Danladi Umar, the Chairman of Code of Conduct Tribunal affirmed that he would have sent Raphael Oluyede, a lawyer in the defence team of Bukola Saraki, the President of Nigerian Senate who is standing trial on 13-count charge of false declaration of
assets to prison.

Kanu Agabi, the lead defence counsel was not in court when there was an exchange of words between the Tribunal Chairman and Oluyede on Thursday morning. The exchange of words was over an application filed by the lawyer. Oluyede had in the application asked Mr. Umar to disqualify himself from hearing the suit against Saraki over allegations that he is also being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC which is also leading the prosecution of the Senate President.

The exchange of words had degenerated into arguments during which Mr. Umar threatened to send the lawyer to prison for contempt. On arrival, Agabi had briefly interrupted proceedings to apologize for the behaviour of a member of his team. The Senior Advocate of Nigeria told Mr Umar that Oluyede was a member of his team and was announced among the defence counsels on Wednesday.

The Department of State Security (DSS) on Wednesday arraigned two artisans before an Isolo Magistrate Court for allegedly cloning the mobile line of Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode. The suspects – Rilwanu Jamiu and Balogun Stanley Oyewole who claimed to be a cocoa dealer, were said to have attempted to perfect a N50 million transfer with the said mobile line.

Prosecuting counsel from the DSS, Mr. Peter Okerinmodun told Chief Magistrate Adeola Adedayo that the suspects were arrested after using the cloned mobile line of the Governor to send a text message to the Accountant General of the State requesting for transfer of N50 million. He said the suspects conspired with others now at large to commit the crime on February 10, 2016 at about 10:02hours.

Count one reads: “That you Rilwanu Jamiu (M) of No 10, Giwa Street, Oka Akoko Street, Lagos and Balogun Stanley Oyewole (M) of No 65, Unity Street, Ikotun, Lagos and others at large on 10th February, 2016 about 1002hours at Lagos within Lagos Magisterial District, conspired to commit felony to wit: obtaining by false pretence and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 312 (2) and (3) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State.”

Count two reads: “That you Rilwanu Jamiu, Balogun Stanley Oyewole of the above addresses, and others at large, on above date, time and place fraudulently cloned the Glo line of His Excellency, the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, with intent to induce him by false pretence and used the Glo line to send a text message for the transfer of a sum of fifty million Naira (N50m) and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 312 (2) and (3) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State.”

After the charges were read to the accused persons, they pleaded not guilty, while the prosecutor asked that they should be kept in protective custody pending the outcome of the legal advice of the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) in view of the fact that their lives could be endangered by other suspects who are on the run.

But Magistrate Adedayo overruled Okerinmodun, saying the DSS ought to have kept them in custody judging by the fact that their lives could be in danger. She said since the offence for which the accused persons were charged to court was bailable and the fact that the Magistrate Court is a court of summary trial, she was inclined to grant bail to the accused persons. She, therefore, admitted them to bail in the sum of N1 million each and two sureties in like sum. Magistrate Adedayo ruled that one of the sureties must be a religious or community leader within the jurisdiction of the court, and that the accused persons must provide five years tax clearance certificates.

She further ordered the accused persons to be remanded in Kirikiri Prison pending the perfection of the conditions attached to their bail, and adjourned the matter to May 10, 2016.

President Muhammadu Buhari speaking at the first National Executive Committee (NEC), meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja cleared the air that the fight against corruption have not yielded the expected result yet, as no money have been recovered by the administration.

Contrary to various President’s media releases and APC leadership and supporters claims that the US official gave them list of Nigerians that stashed $100billion in US banks, no since kobo have been recovered by this government. Last week, the APC leadership dropped another bombshell claiming that about 6 Nigerian ex-governors have being identified to have deposited about $200billion (N60trn) in Dubai.

The United Arab Emirate (UAE) have rebuffed this claim and described it frivolous and untrue, as the total deposit by non nationals is far less than $108bn. They clarified that majority of the properties in the Emirate are owned by Institutional Investors and Multi National Housing groups, and that individual property ownership by foreigners than corporate entities are grossly negligible.

President Buhari. according to Hope For Nigeria added that efforts are being made by his government to articulate a comprehensive list of recoveries of ill-gotten loot which he claimed would be published in due course when they are available.

On January 25, top Nigerian comedian Bovi lost his mother Mrs. Margaret Ugboma to an undisclosed illness. She was reported to have passed on to glory at the age of 58-years old and survived by children and grandchildren. Ever since the ace comedian has been on a low-key as he has been trying to morn his mother, as well as been traveled back home in order to make preparations so as to give his mother a befitting burial.

Amidst tears, Delta state Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, ace Nigerian comedians Ali Baba, Julius Agwu and wife, Basket mouth among others gathered to give Bovi’s mother a befitting burial on Saturday, March 12, in his home town. At 10am, the funeral service of late Mrs. Margaret Ugboma took place at St Paul’s Anglican Cathedral, Oleh and interment followed at No. 5 Agbara Layout, opposite Eboh Hotel, Oleh.

Also, Bovi treated his guests at Isoko Central School field, Oleh Delta state. On Sunday, March 13, there would be an Outing/Thanksgiving service in honor of his late mother at All Souls Anglican Church, Idheze Road, Irri.

Nicole Bennett from Mississippi lost her husband Deonata just two months before her due date. And she came up with a unique way to celebrate his life through her maternity shoot with their four year old son, Landen. The photos were shot by Sidney Conley, who then digitally add images of Deonata into the heartfelt portraits.

Nicole said the photos will help her grieve and also serve as a reminder to their children of the father they lost. "I wanted to do something special because he's been there for our son since day one," Nicole told ABC News. "It's memories for my son of his father and for my daughter who will never meet her father, it's memories for her as well."
