Politics › Re: Is Nigeria One Nigeria Or Nigeria Is Trying To Be One Nigeria? by mars123(m): 12:54pm On Mar 31, 2017 |
kingzizzy: Not possible. Have you seen where properity comes to a people fighting each other?
Nigeria has a unique situation of having the 3 largest ethnic groups in Africa, each of them over 40 million people. It is not possible to have 2 captains of a Ship let alone 3.
Do you know how embarrassed I feel as an Igbo man knowing that Im from a tribe of over 40 million but I dont have my own country? But Gambia that are less than 2 million are a country, sierra Leon is just 6 million but is a country, Togo is just 7 millon but is a country. The population of Gambia, Togo and Sierra Leon is not even up to half of Igbos but Igbos dont have their own country and are stuck in Nigeria answering to a colonial mantra called 'one Nigeria'.
Laughable im sorry i don't feel the same way you do. Its not only igbos that don't have a sense of entitlement. Every suffering Nigerian doesn't. Its no surprise that igbo political office holders don't speak in this manner because they have their own share of the national cake. And Nigerians are not alone in fighting each other. If you were exposed you would know that this world is not a perfect place. What this country needs my brother is a functional system of government working for ITS PEOPLE. only then too will having your own separate country as igbos be easily realizable. |

haven't heard that slogan for a while now. What does it even mean? People are beginning to realise its not by force. Coexisting peacefully is a more realistic target than becoming 'one'.
What matters is a level playing field for everyone. Our leaders are lazy asf though. |

It would have made more sense for president Buhari himself to lead this delegation but oga is not healthy enough for such trips. The irony is that he selfishly thinks he is fit enough to lead Nigeria well.
In the next election, if he runs, for him to get my vote, he will have to first successfully jug just 40metres of the Abuja national stadium. :-/ A task that he would fail woefully. So bubu just enjoy your remaining 2 years. |

Yes PYO is acting on the orders of Buhari. But Buhari himself knows he cannot do it like PYO that's why he sent him to do his job. How many chances did he have to visit the ND and he threw all away.
Prof Yemi Osibanjo to his credit is simply shining the light of God he has in him. He is not lacking in wisdom and knowledge even more than his boss. |

When my close friends mocked my decision making in voting Buhari, I told them that it was the personality of Prof Yemi Osinbajo that attracted me to his candidature. I thought he will be running the show exactly how Idiagbon was allowed to by Buhari.
It is obvious that PYO leading us as ag president today is the handwork of God Almighty to show Nigerians the kind of person we all should be looking to vote in 2019 as our president. knowledgeable, God-fearing and hardworking. |

I think no matter what we should give PYO the necessary support and encouragement to keep up the drive and passion to do his best for the country because we all know how hard it can be to preside over Nigeria. |
Business › Re: Naira Gains On Parallel Market For Four Consecutive Days, Now N480/$ by mars123(m): 8:29am On Feb 25, 2017 |
seunmsg: My initial post was to address some people who are erroneously attributing the success of the policy to the acting president.
And yes, CBN is flooding the market with dollars right now because they have the means. As at this time last year with foreign reserve at around $25billion and crude production at an all time low coupled with the price of crude then, they couldn't have rolled out this type of policy.
The simple summary is that, we are now earning more forex due to the sustained price of crude oil at over $50 and the steady rise in production due to ongoing peace negotiation. If these two variables decline sharply, we will be back to square one again. So, those who are concerned about the sustainability of this policy are not wrong because CBN does not control these two variables. You are saying people shouldn't attribute the success to the acting president and you're also saying peace negotiations in the ND is responsible for increase in oil production. But you're forgetting that the VP is the one currently leading peace talks over there. Can't you see how wrong you are when you say the vice president shouldn't get some well deserved credit. |

The man really needs to resign and attend to his health. He can never recover 100% obviously and Nigeria is a nation that needs a fully fit leader. I like the man because of his passion for the country which is rare nowadays but he is doing more harm than good right now.
If not that this country is filled with weaklings and crooks, people would have been protesting for his resignation. I mean we have a fit vp that should assume the leadership fully not just appearances. |
