PoliticsRe: Nigeria: A Country Where Nothing Works by mars123(m): 8:29am On Jun 22, 2017
When Nigerians choose to get better, Nigeria will be better. It really is as simple or as hard as that. The politicians truthfully, are mere pawns played by God.

The evil that goes on in this nation, to your fellow man, if you're conscious about it, is beyond heartbreaking but somehow, we are used to it.

How then can you stupidly be expecting progress when you are surrounded by people, far and near, who do not have a progressive mindset, who cannot even be fair and just in this Nigeria as currently constituted.

No be lie. Just this week 5 suicide bombers killed 17 people in the north. And everyone now takes it as a normal thing.

If the north should make mistake and go its own way, sorry! Somalia will finally see a country it is better than.

I can tell you have not given any thought to what you have typed yourself.

You have not analysed what federalism means neither have you considered how synergy and resource control works.

People have just been using this federal character as yardstick and are all in a bangarang trying to put the cart before the horse.

The main flaw in Nigeria is the societal decay , lack of equity and justice and moral character. Because the leaders are selected from a society with low ethical standards their actions in governing the masses is reflected in where they come from , who they represent and what is expected not them (where a senator is expected to pay the medical bills, school fees, personal expenses and distribute largesse to his constituents it's inevitable that is the key he'll seek for re-election)

A reform of the electoral process and the Constitution of the Nigerian republic is a good place to start

The confab was a good with some noble ideas within which are already being passed , the devaluation of power from federal to local governments would be great too so people can seek their LGA chairman and councillors for immediate issues concerning governance
Yes, that too.

But this one you're saying now shows you are in agreement with me rather than in disagreement.

I just know overall, that we don't get honest, fair and quality representation from the three forms of government at the federal level.

If the resources where going from bottom to the top, they will stop wasting so much of their resources on frivolity at the federal level.

But as it is, coming from top to bottom (FG to LG), and it get stuck like it always do, LG has no resources to grow and develop hence the masses always lack.

Moral decadence, lack of fairness and equity are just manifestations of a dysfunctional system.

Go check when America started practicing true federalism as we know it today and its correlation with their growth and development. Immense.

PoliticsRe: Shehu Sani Lists 10 Factors Blocking Nigeria’s Progress, Unity by mars123(m): 3:54pm On Jun 19, 2017
All these ones join but mostly, failure to practice true federalism and control of individual resources. It would go a long way to fast track our development.

Who then like can use his IGR to import grass from the moon to feed cows or fly pilgrims to mecca or give everything to militants. That time, it won't concern anybody.

Overall, we just need to amend our archaic constitution.
PoliticsRe: The Evil Called Quota System As Perpetrated By The Northern Elite Class! by mars123(m): 12:24pm On Jun 19, 2017
It is complete nonsense. Not in this century. Any society that wants to reach the promise land must place MERIT above everything.

An employee in an Israeli government establishment once asked his employer ''why are you my boss and the reverse not the case?''

This attitude to credentials, qualifications, merit, shows why Israel is one of the most advanced nations in the world.

This bullish needs to stop. If we are one nation, show it in the constitution. I recommend a massive constitution amendment

PoliticsRe: Buhari's Anti-corruption Panel Lambasts Presidency, Judiciary by mars123(m): 6:28pm On Jun 18, 2017
The anti corruption war need serious review. I believe if the FG is really serious about it, it can get it right by learning from mistakes.

Corruption is not something you fight with kids gloves knowing how deep this thing has eaten into our system.

On the realest note though, this government is so useless and likely to achieve nothing in four years.

Blessed are those who create opportunities for themselves where there seems to be none.

Yes I dislike Saraki but they didn't write SP or DSP on anybody's head. Anyone can aspire to any post in this country as long as one is qualified.

I think Nigerian youths have a lot to learn from that episode. Stop sitting, waiting for some godfather to give you what you can achieve with your own consistent work.

The last time I checked, paying tax wasn't a voluntary obligation anywhere in this world.

The FIRS should be more serious with its responsibilities. They seem to be more interested in having their palms greased.

PoliticsRe: NOI Poll Reveals Nigerians’ Choice For Middle-aged Candidates In 2019. by mars123(m): 6:18pm On Jun 17, 2017
Most of our leaders in the military era were around 30-40. I would really love to see this age range as leaders in the 4th republic.

How old was Jonathan when he became president anyway? He was quite young and vibrant. Didn't stop him from being a clueless dunce.

Age right now is a diversion. We need a president who has enviable qualifications and is really ready for the very tasking job.

Is it a crime as a candidate to already have some of your ministers stating their plans during campaigns?? It shows preparedness which is a very outstanding quality in this sort of thing.

Nigeria is not working and its not why Igbos want out, those selfish pricks can gerrarahere for all i care. They too want to partake in the macabre dance of Aso Rock foolery.

Nigeria isn't working as currently structured where a certificateless cattle rearer can be president leading a complex 21st century developing nation its laughable.

Nigeria isn't working because everybody is running to Abuja for their selfish interests. The presidency has a lot of powers that needs to be devolved to states to develop at their own pace. No more one Nigerian slogans instead forward Anambra, ahead Lagos, united Kano, prosperous Rivers, etc.

Yes they are very right! Africa will never ever develop! This is because most countries in africa were created by the whites. The whites created these countries without minding wheter the indigenes of these lands were compatible. No, the Europeans never cared. What they wanted was to be in control of everywhere(this is how "Britain" became "Great Britain"wink. Most African countries today are not meant to be. Look at Nigeria for example, Yorubas, Igbos, and Hausa are meant to live apart. But what does a black man know? He is mentally lazy! He does not like to think at all, but will rather spend his time praying to god to solve his problems. If a country like nigeria had existed in Europe or Asia, she would have been balkanized, so that they will develop at their own pace....which will also bring peace not just to these ethnic groups, but the their continent and race.
effort not compatibility is all that is needed. We were created equal by God. whites and black. If whites and black can coexist in some countries why not blacks?

I'm afraid it may truly get to that. If the federal govt does not act decisively before October 1, especially concerning the northern threat, it may signal the end of Nigeria.
end of Nigeria indeed. Some of you don't even know the country you're in. Since i knew this country the citizens have never had their say for once. Its what the FG want to happen, will happen. Nigeria's unity is by force and this is a bitter lesson you will learn for the second time.

people should learn from HISTORY because it has a funny way of repeating itself. People will die for NOTHING again the second time.

But Igbos sef shey una no join every other tribe to steal, loot, kill, kidnap, scam, in this same naija? Its human nature in a lawless environment. The only good point about Biafra, is you will have an Emeka as president and Chukwudi as VP but you we still be killing each other cheesy
