Here are a few red flags that you may discover in the first few dates, or well into the relationship. Either way, don’t ignore them. Doing so can lead to a relationship that will never truly be what you want or deserve. He has no vision for his future. Proverbs 29:18 tells us, “where there is no vision, the people perish.” If your hope is to one day start a family with someone, that person needs to have a vision for themselves. If they don’t have a personal vision, how can they create a vision for your family? He’s way too clingy. In my humble opinion, there is nothing cute about being with a mate that is way too clingy. Clinginess is typically a sign of a man who is either a bit possessive or insecure. Either way, it’s a sign you shouldn’t ignore. He’s a little too private. There is nothing wrong with being a bit private when you first start dating someone, but if the person you are dating seems too private (like you know nothing about their family and you’ve never been to their home), you should be concerned. People who seem like they have something to hide usually have something to hide. He looks down to you. There really is no way around this one. If a man talks down to you and makes you feel like you don’t matter, run in the other direction. You feel isolated. You should never feel like a relationship is keeping you away from your friends and family. You should feel like your mate is adding to your life, not intentionally taking people away from it. He doesn’t respect your values. It’s never a good sign if you feel like the person you are dating is trying to convince you to do anything that isn’t in line with what you value. Your values are part of the deal, so if he has a problem with them, he should keep it moving. He doesn’t fight fair. It’s normal for couples to have disagreements and sometimes they can even turn into fights, but fighting dirty is never cool. If your mate always fights dirty, bringing up things you told him about your past, cursing you out, and intentionally trying to hurt you, he has serious communication issues and will probably always hit below the belt when you fight. He tells his mother everything. We all want a man who respects and loves his mother. What we don’t want is a “mama’s boy” that runs and tells his mother every intimate detail of his life. That is more drama than any woman should have to deal with. You have a strange gut feeling. Ladies, we have to stop ignoring our gut. When your gut tells you that the person you are with isn’t right for you, just listen. Your gut feeling is really God’s whisper. Don’t ignore it. Source: candidbelle.com |
Asari Dokubo, who is currently in Mecca to observe the hajj, shared some pics on his Facebook page of him stoning the “devil’s wall” in Mina, Saudi Arabia. Below is what he wrote alongside the photos “Stoning every satan in my life….in my well being …in my match leading to the total liberation and independence of my country from the shackles and satanic grasp of Nigeria….stoning and killing every satanic manipulation, plots, plans and incantations Oh Allah every Satan had been stoned…be they the hegemonic born to rule satans who strive to dispossess every body else of their freedom, liberty, possession and we’ll being….Every Boko Haram whether hidden or known….every fabricator of the Chibok scam….every lying Steve Davis. Oh Allah let this Jamaarat be a blessing in the totality of my life. Ameen.

Being in a relationship means putting a whole lot of faith in someone who was, at one point, a total stranger to you. It’s all a bit terrifying when you really think about it. So can you ever really tell what someone’s thinking and feeling, or if they’re being truly honest with you? Basically, no, is what we’ve learnt. But there are some clues in someone’s behaviour as to how they really feel and whether they’re being honest. Here’s what to look out for… 1. Nil by mouth Any attempt to cover their mouth – however apparently subconscious – could well be a sign that they’re uncomfortable with what they’re saying or hiding something from you. 2. Jesus takes the wheel If your other half is suddenly spouting religious phrases like ‘I swear to Jesus’ or ‘God no’, then they may be trying to hard to cover something up. 3. The disappearing act Watch their hands. Are they trying to make them disappear, possibly into their pockets, behind their backs or under their legs? If yes, this could be a sign that they’re hiding more than just their palms. 4. The key is in the detail A common misconception about cheats and liars is that they can’t provide detail about their lie, but actually, they may go into too much detail. If they can’t stop talking and appear to be saying things as they occur to them, it might be that it’s all fabricated. 5. The eyes have it You know your partner best. Are they finding it more difficult than usual to maintain eye contact? Then they could be feeling guilty. And if they’ve fixed an unusually strong stare on your eyes, they could be doing so in an effort to try to control your opinion of them. 6. Timing is everything If there are noticeable pauses before they answer questions, they could be buying themselves time to think of a response. Equally, answering too soon and speaking quickly is an indication that they’re desperately trying to convince you of something. 7. Repetition, repetition, repetition f they repeat more than one of your questions, they’re probably using the time to think of a reasonable answer. 8. They’re suddenly really honest Are they suddenly being super honest but about something that you’re not actually asking them about? For example, you question who they had dinner with this evening and they’re more concerned with apologising for how much they spent on the dinner than discussing who they ate with. They’re trying to deflect attention by admitting to a lesser offence. 9. Pinocchio syndrome Very strange but true: when lying, some people’s nasal tissues engorge, causing their noses to itch. So an unexplained sniff could give away more than you think… 10. Examine the evidence And finally… take a step back and try to look at it objectively: ask yourself whether you’d believe their story if it was one of your friends’ partners. If it now sounds implausible, then it probably is. |
The Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers has warned against any attempt to subvert the mandate freely given by the people to the Governor-elect, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, in the June 21 governorship election. The traditional rulers, who made their position known after a meeting held in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday, warned that such attempts could further aggravate the already tensed situation in the state. The meeting, which reviewed the security situation in the state, also commiserated with the family of a former state chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers, Mr. Omolafe Aderiye, who was assassinated by unknown gunmen last Thursday. In a statement signed by its Chairman and the Onitaji of Itaji, Oba Adamo Babalola, and made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti, the council maintained that the people of the state had spoken through the ballot papers in the election. The Council said, “We condemn in its strongest terms the occurrences which led to destruction of life and property. We believe that Ekiti State is greater than any individual or group of persons. We should steer clear of any act that can set Ekiti ablaze. “We appeal to the gladiators to sheathe their swords and prevent further aggravation of the already bad situation. “We are of the view that the people of the state had spoken through the ballot on 21st June, 2014 and a mandate freely given. Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers therefore feels strongly that this mandate should be actualized as any attempt to truncate it may further aggravate the situation”. The council expressed implicit confidence in the ability of Ekiti judiciary to dispense justice on any matter judicially and impartially, urging that the body must continue to prove that it remained the hope of the common man. The traditional rulers also commended the security agencies for efforts to restore peace in the state in the wake of Aderiye’s murder. They also appealed to the people to shun violence to ensure speedy restoration of peace and to complement the efforts of the security agencies. |

At least 40 Boko Haram insurgents have been killed in Borno State in the last 72 hours when troops launched major offensives against them. Eleven soldiers are believed to have lost their lives in the battles with three others reported missing while 15 are currently receiving medical treatment. Military sources said the figures were arrived at after mopping up operations in Konduga, Damboa and Benisheik. Benishek lies to the west of Maiduguri along the Damaturu road. Terrorists have been trying to attack Maiduguri, the state capital through that part and the eastern flank of the city. Confirming the latest confrontations, a high ranking military source said splinter cells of the sect resorted to carrying out flash attacks on communities in the state. The source said troops succeeded in forcing the insurgents to beat a retreat in Konduga, Beneshiek and Damboa where they made a number of attempts between Thursday and Friday September 25-26, 2014. “A multi barrel T55 tank, nine rifles, two Machine Guns, two Rocket Propelled Grenade tubes, five boxes of ammunition and other weapons were captured from them while over 40 of the terrorists died in the encounters in the three locations”, the source said. “Troops also conducted a raid on terrorists’ enclave at Shindig. In all the operations a total of 11 soldiers died while 15 others are being treated for injuries sustained in the battles. Three are still missing. “The air and land operations are ongoing to clear the terrorists from other communities where their activities have become prevalent recently in the states under the state of emergency”.
