I am in a dilemma. I bought two plots of land recently, one already surveyed and the other not. My question now is, can I survey both of them as one and or I should just survey the other land.

I look forward to your recommendations. Thank you in advance!

Good morning, I have some inquiry to make about study route to Germany. I can be reached via joshuaokupevi5000@gmail.com. I will be expecting your message. Thank you

I haven't received a message from them and besides department defers. I will let you know as soon as I get an update from them.

I received a message yesterday that they currently don't have any Faculty member accepting additional advisees for fall 2024. They asked if I would want my application recoded (not recorded) for spring, 2025 and that they look forward to hearing from me.

As at January 15th and Feb 15th this year, I contacted my department and they confirmed they were still reviewing the applications.

Does this mean my application has been considered, but I'll need to wait till spring, 2025. I honestly don't understand this please.

Anybody with similar experience should please share!

The email came in as "Application Status"
Thanks.

Hello,

Life is fine. Cost of living has risen but that's a global problem. Weather on average isn't amazing but Summer and spring is glorious. Bureaucracy would drive you crazy sometimes but we can endure. Hardwork does pay especially if you understand the law of the land. And learning German improves your quality of life ten-folds. Salary here is low compared to the US & the taxes are higher here too. Though cost of living is lower in Germany and the health insurance system is awesome.

Getting jobs as an international student isn't hard. Depends on the type of job. inside a warehouse like Amazon etc. can be done within a short time but office jobs may be harder to get without German language skills. Unless you're in IT, there english can help you land nice office jobs. Internships are available as well. Sometimes, the faculty may pair with institutes and one can take advantage of those.

Germans are not the friendliest people; know this and know peace smiley . Their culture can be cold and direct. They're hard to crack into as friends but once you're in, they're amazing and will defend you to the core. In big cities like Hamburg, Koln, Berlin etc. you will find nearly all nationalities. SO you can make friends with anyone and find your tribe.

Housing can be tough depending on the city. In the bigger cities there is lots of competition for housing so folks may live an hour or more away from the center. some could get lucky and find something within the city in a nice area. depends on luck, networking etc. Also if you have a high budget, getting a house is quicker.

Wish you good luck!
Hi bro please message me via this email mayokun5000@gmail.com. I wish to discuss something with you. Thank you

If you are still in South Korea, message recruiting agencies in Tokyo to avail you of the employment opportunities in the industry. A major restraint is employing people from outside Japan who have less number of working experience, but by being in nearby South Korea, it should be easy to convince firms to process your COE. You really don't need to go through the English teaching route except the above suggestion did not work. That is, firms are hesitant to employing or interviewing you because of your location, which I seriously doubt. The major hurdle should be the language not the distance.
Thank you for the replied. I will work on it besides if you know any IT recruiting agency please do let me know.
Travel / Re: Japanese Visa And Travelling To Japan by martins2021: 9:56am On Oct 15, 2023
Thank you for the information. I hold a master's degree from a university in South Korea and I visited Fukuoka two months ago. Currently, I am still in Korea and intend to explore the website that Alakara mentioned in my previous quote.
Gerrard59:

Search for organisations that offer English lessons and apply. I have no idea of their recruitment process. The information is online. However, because it is English, you will find posts/comments by mostly Westerners complaining of long hours and low pay, none of which don't apply to you as a black African. With your degrees and hopefully knowledge of leetcode, you can change to a tech job while in Japan. Alternatively, search for recruiting firms if you have at least three years of experience to get tech jobs. Jobs are not the issue, but whether companies would be willing to sponsor someone from abroad or if the person speaks/understands Japanese is where the issue lies. The fastest route is the English teaching role.

Your educational qualifications are in order, as the minimum requirement for visa issuance for employment purposes by the immigration authority is a bachelor's degree.

Are there specific requirements for securing an English-speaking job in Japan? I hold a BSc in Computer Science and a Master's in Information Science. Do I meet the qualifications, and could you outline the application process?
Gerrard59:

That salary is the standard for fresh ALTs. No company is supposed to ask you for money before employing you. Yes, once you get the COE, the visa is approved, barring any unforeseen circumstances. That is the great thing about Japan's visa process - issuance of the COE means the embassy just to go through your application and approve it. Your friend should expect her visa within three days after the application. If she submits it on a Monday, she should get the visa by Thursday latest. The problem with the COE is that it takes almost three months to issue it. Although, the government wants to reduce it to a month for highly skilled workers.

ALTs run as the demand arises. I am currently an English teacher for a branded organisation and from the interview, the busiest periods are March, July, August, September and December. So, I believe it should almost be the same. The firm will help you both with finding an apartment, SIM registration and city taxes.

Welcome to Japan! cool

While some Vos, based on your presentation, can accept full funding with a monthly stipend as an acceptable proof of funds, others may not be as lenient as these scholarships, though available, is only accessible when you meet specific requirements. Temporary resident applications, such as a study permit, are based on the discretion of the visa officer handling an application. So, I recommend having a substantial amount and showing a reliable source of funds for the subsequent years. Suppose you don’t have additional funds or a sponsor, I strongly advise you to ask for a support letter from your Head of Department, or supervisor addressed to IRCC stating that they guarantee maximum financial support for tuition and living expenses and that you merit it. Furthermore, in your financial analysis, mention precisely what the scholarship cover, how much will be provided per period and when it will be disbursed.

All the best.

Thank you for the advice. I appreciate

My brother, it depends on how you presented your case. In anyway, you can try present an amount like 1000 CAD that will sustain you for the first month.
People will be giving you many ideas that you should present the flight fee, yen yen yen yen. The truth is that they don't care about such thing. If you like, you can trek to Canads, if you like, you can fly. Just show that you can sustain yourself for the first month before they start paying.

Secondly, you need to proof that you are an asset, and you've achieved alot with a very good career progress. Ensure you talk about your previous achievements so far. This will tell them that you don't need extra money outside the school funding, and you will meet up with the standard of the scholarship for the period of your program.

Furthermore, you must breakdown all the expenses you'll pay from the scholarship in your SOP. For example, lets say your funding is 20,000 CAD per year and your tuition with all other expenses is 8,000 CAD.
This means that you have all the expenses + 10k CAD required by the IRCC + 2,000 CAD miscellaneous.

You must convince the VO that you will maintain your academic standard to enjoy this funding for the duration of your program.

In summary, you only need to show that you can sustain yourself for the first month before they start paying your funding.

Note: I am not an expert, and I only answered this based on the information I've gathered.

Best of luck to you bro.

**please ignore my typos and OYINBO**

Thank you so much, you have done justice to my question. I appreciate

Who applied to Deakin University, PhD program?
Their own process is not easy to come by. We first submitted an expression of interest. It took like 1 and half months to be processed and assessed. Later the Expression of Interest passed, and invited is to apply for formal application. However, they said that the scholarship isn't guarantee, because every application is going to be compared.
Who has been in this shoe before? Till now, they've not said anything about the formal application.
Do you have publication and research experience? What about good score in your IELTS?

The question is complicated and what conplicates it is, the comparison between the potential schools in both countries.

For example if you have a scholarship to study deep learning in University of Toronto vs University of Tennessee, I will choose UoT.

That being said even though I live in Canada, I will generally recommend USA all things being equal.

Thank you for the replied. My fear is the immigration route to become citizenship which Canada gives such opportunity. I don't want to go back home after my studies. What do you think?

Everyone has friends who have done these things, but we are looking at the numbers. What he can control is better than the things he cannot. Many would have tried it if it were that easy to get NiW. That is the truth. Regarding elite institutions, my point is: if na so NiW easy, why have these folks with stellar qualifications and publications not done the same rather than crying on LinkedIn? The probability of getting US citizenship via NiW, Marriage and Work sponsorship compared to the Canadian route to citizenship is low. It is easier and faster to become a naturalised Canadian than an American. So the best bet is to accept the Canadian offer, play delayed gratification and move to the US. You win in the long run. He is even better than most of us who still admire the US but are in other countries with nothing like a TN visa. A Nigerian who has a British passport is treated the same as a Swiss. However, Canadian-Nigerian gets preferential treatment, especially in some sectors rife with startups that don't have time for H1B process. Even Indians are now encouraged to apply to Australian universities, get naturalised and apply for EB1 visa which gives Aussies preferential access to the American labour market.

Then a Nigerian should now let go of a fully funded offer from a Canadian university when there is a sure pathway to citizenship and preferential access to the US labour market?

Not all Nigerian students get naturalised via NiW (https://www.nairaland.com/7535720/nigerian-students-now-americans-how_, but literally all Nigerian students in Canada have a sure pathway to becoming naturalised citizens. Tumbo-tumbo is not good when there is a sure bet offer in hand.
What is the essence of EB1 if you can get Aussie citizenship? I think Australia pay more than USA in terms of wages.
