Kog45: Sir if we want to base it on height then better to take Uzoho,Alampasu and Akpeyi to WC cos they are above six ft.
Pls have you asked yourself why 5ft 11 Enyeama was always picked ahead of Ejide.Truly Ejide was ahead of Dele in the eagles even in 2008 ahead of Enyeama.
Sir seen Ejide physically not even in goalposts showed a good keeper cos his height is intimidating and this gave him an edge over Enyeama in 2008 cos Vogts believe in his height but when we talk of rudiments of goalkeeping forget it Enyeama is a top notch and Dele is even better than Ejide.
I think Ejide and Dele stats are their for us to see since they left Africa shore for professional career in Europe and mind you tbaba1234 was even saying Ejide has been stagnant since 2014 and Dele keep on maintaining his form, hope you know that the same Ejide was clubless for almost two season.
Check it out, their Europe professional career, Ejide had 220 caps(2006-2018)still counting with Bastia,Hapoel takia, sherva and Hadera with no European cup experience while Dele Aiyenugba had 372 caps(2007-2018)still counting with Yehuda Bnei and Hapoel Ashkelon with Europa cup playoffs experience.
Presently Ejide play in Isreali second tier while Dele is in Isreali premier league.
Pls with this whom w you picked as likely solution to our goalkeeping problem though i want to see the two in camp to slug it out with other keepers Do you argue for the sake of argument, I have repeated it over and over that what am clamouring for is both keeper to be given a chance. i took time out to watch both of them on YouTube and I can tell you both still got it, Dele ain't so good with crosses but his reflex is wonderful, Ejide is physically imposing but seem to have drop some speed. Ejide playing in second tier Isreal league means nothing, you fail to point out that him and his club are doing well in the league and are likely to be promoted because they are second in the table while Dele team is on the verge of relegation. Obviously you have a preference which is cool but you are been biased with your analysis, Ejide have European Experience, he played for hapoel beer Sheva Europa league play off in 2014/2015 season. when you were calculating there club caps you fail to mention Ejide performance in Etoile, please we all need to be objective with our arguments sometimes |

Akpeyi has had his chances again and again. Maybe he doesn’t have much confidence because of where he plighs his trade.
At the end of the day, we’d have to choose the better devil. the past brings the future and Akpeyi plighing his trade in South Africa should be a plus for him and not a minus, he has psychological issues |

tbaba1234: Barthez depreciated and it has nothing to do with height. Have you watched petr Cech this season? His height has not saved him from being poor.
My point is that Ejide had already depreciated in 2014. I do not expect him to be much better in 2018. As it stands right now, i think Aiyenugba is a better keeper.
As regards penalties, Aiyenugba is a fantastic penalty stopper. Some keepers are good at stopping penalties, others are not.. Saving penalties is not a lottery. I would rather have Aiyenugba in goal for penalties than Petr Cech who has an awful penalty saving record.
Back to the issue of height, Cassilas is not much taller than Aiyenugba. Aiyenugba is 5 11... just 1 inch off 6 ft. Same height as Barthez. Enyeama at 6ft can not be said to be a tall keeper. Bros being a good penalty keeper is just a bonus and nothing more, why didn't Aiyenugba displace Enyeama all through his career with his penalty skills, there is so much involve in goal keeping, you really need to be very athletic and good to be a short and good keeper. If Ejide was finished since 2014 then I ask when last did you see Aiyenugba play?? |

Joebie: Ejide WAS. This is someone who could not get a club for almost a year and only managed to land in a second tier Israeli side. Let’s face the reality, today, Dele has had far more better tests and has been consistent in the Israeli top flight. We are not inviting the keepers of yesterday but today. Current form wise Dele is CLEARLY the better keeper. Our problem here is understanding, I'm clamouring for both of them to be called up and tested out and not just Aiyenugba, if you go by club activities then akpeyi should be number 1 straight up |

tbaba1234: Height does not automatically make a good keeper... Casillas, Barthez.... were not particularly tall.
My impression of Ejide in 2014 was that he had depreciated badly.. Some of the goals conceded were poor. This is 4 years later.
Aiyenugba would be my choice.. In fact, i will take Aiyenugba just in case we get to any penalty shoot out... You are sure that he will save a few. Best Penalty keeper, Nigeria has. Stop this unnecessary hype, Cassilas is 6ft 1 and for bathez we saw how calamitous he was at his later stage in his career, dele is not even up to 6ft. Ejide was always ahead of him through out their career in the GWG, at some some point Ejide was the number 1 and let me remind you, penalty is a lottery, I have seen Enyeama save up to 3 out 5 penalty and when they started they said he was poor in that area. To be fair Rohr need to invite them both and see them first hand and see if they still have it in them |

Icon4s: Oga, before you crawl back into that your ghost mode let me talk to you.
If you really want to understand the dynamics of this thread deactivate your "ghost mode" and start making comments. That is when you will really understand why certain things are the way they are here. We have on countless occasions cautioned peeps here against names calling. Virtually every one here has been a victim of one name calling or the other. Me inclusive.
On people having favorite players here it is only natural. And virtually every one here consciously or unconsciously has a player or a group of players they are always fronting or defending. There are some that will always love and defend players like: Iheanacho, Awaziem, Ebuehi, Aina, Uzoho, Iwobi. There is one that the only players he has been consistent with on this thread are Ajagun, Aluko, Raheem Lawal, Solanke, Kayode, Martins etc. Another one the only players he rates are those born in England.
There are some of us that prefer old tested players while some others prefer young inexperienced players. Some don't even want to hear the word "experience"!
All these are all natural. And these differials in choices of players are the things that keep this thread going. It is not a negative trend as you put it. It makes the debates even more interesting and intense. The only thing we have always preached about is to know when to back out when the argument is beginning to go over the roof. And we have always preached against insults and more still insulting people's parents.
You think we arrived at over 3300 pages by just coming here to read news and agree and go away?
On safarigirl, there is no one here who did not agree she started the fight. But what I am particular about is the way the other party handled it. He went against the rule by hitting her below the belt. Safarigirl can worry, we know her very well and what she is capable of. I was even the first person she had misunderstanding with on this thread. Do you know I also received a ban?!
We have admonished her on countless occasions of which she is even better of now(if you have been long on this thread you will agree), but we continued to cope with her. Take it or leave it she is a favorite of most here which is why she received the type of protection she got. We are not promoting insults in any way. We condemned her actions also. This thread has moved to becoming a family.
Finally, I implore you to permanently crawl out from whereever you just crawled into and become an active member. Then you will better know how things go around here.
One love man. Sir this is just the reason why Nigeria is in this bad state....a crime should be a crime no matter who the culprit is, going by your ruling I can say fulani herdsmen dey worry and should be over looked because they are used to invading, destroying and killing people in there farmland With the way you guys are sounding this safari girl will feel she's untouchable and will get another victim banned with her insults and provocation, Andrew was so wrong for calling out her parents, I won't add dead because he never knew any of them were dead, but safari called out his generation too. Finally you made mention of andrew hit safari below the belt, the question is does the below the belt rule affect some people and not all?, now i believe the saying "all animal are equal but some animal are more equal that others" |

Yes her style of arguments often sound offensive but those of us that have been long here know her very well and also know how to handle her.
It is one of her wetnesses but let's also remember she is a lady. Been abusive in argument cannot be accepted by all, you are trying so hard to defend her when it should have been easy to call both out. Cases are not judge by who you know first, what if that was the Andrew style of replying insults at him? |

komekn: I have said this donkeys ago about early engagement and creating a relationship.
There are some I have talked too who have made it intrinsically clear that they want to play for Nigeria.
There are some who are more Nigerian than some of you Lekki children who can not speak one Nigerian language.
For instance I was talking to Bobby and I thought I could well floor him with my basic Yoruba. Well big mistake he wiped the floor with me.
Ovie understands the obligatory Warri pidgin for kid that was born here. I could mention others but you probably get the point.
My personal opinion is that because these boys do not understand the politics of NFF Egunje and are not desperate furthermore do not need the SE to boost thier careers. Will refuse to pay homage with gratuity this will be a problem for them. how many egunje did Idowu, Aina and Ebuehi pay |

Icon4s: Good evening house.
Sorry I haven't been so frequent here as before. It is due to my tight schedules.
I saw a few comments pages ago and noticed there has been a "fight" recently.
It is true that this is an open thread but that doesn't make it a place where people should come to insult other people's parents. No Matter what the other party posted, that does not in any way warrant insulting one's parents.
Safarigirl is one of the strong pillars of this thread. We know her very well and what she is capable of. But that is her. You cannot change that. But bringing in her parents for insults is cowardice to me. You cannot iron out issues with her but instead you prefer to insult her parents? That is totally unacceptable. And we condemn it out rightly.
