Stating that he is horrendous defensively is so far from the truth that it is ridiculous.

APAM: He may pick up a lot of cards, but is the most consistent defender Nigeria has. And one of the few consistently played for a good European club.

I scouted Odibe a couple days before Lagerback

I watched two matches with Odibe. He is tremendously good in comparison with our typical Naija defender.

Kaka has had a lot of terrific games, but he is nowhere near Essien, CR or Messi.

Kaka? I'm sorry, but Kaka is one of the most overrated players in history. Eto'o, Drogba and Essien are all way better players.

Taiwo scored a beautiful goal today. His left foot is one reason the team needs him. He is one of the few world class players Nigeria has and people really should start noticing that.

It's not like we have a large bench of proven defenders, Apam, Shittu seem good, Yobo is decent, so I say search.

Not connected, but in regards to defence there is this young guy in Serie A playing regularly for Siena called Michael Odibe. Wonder if Lagerback scouts him, he's doing a great job so far since moving in February.

You have not been watching Drogba play this season. He had a couple of worse weeks, but in the first half of the season he was number one. And a lot of people thought so. Thing is: Messi is quicker and has better dribbling, but everything else is Drogba: positioning, set pieces, tackling, heading, strength, finishing,  Naturally as far as heading is concerned it's no contest are Messi is just pathetic at heading,
