Season long Drogba has been better than Messi. Messi has had a couple of great games, but Drogba was on fire since day one of the season. If we look through the eye of the last couple of weeks Messi is better. But if we look on how well they have been playing all season Drogba pips Messi. Essien - when not injured - was by far the best midfielder in the world. He may not be as prolific as Messi, but his role is different. In what he does he is as good if not better than Messi. |
I don't know how Lagerback will fare, but in all honesty Sweden has never had even 50% of the talent that Nigeria has, no one expects them to win the World Cup or the Euros, |
Nations Cup? Yoy must be talking about someone else. He never played at the Nations Cup. |
Femi Ajilore hits a double for Groningen (against NAC Breda). Guy is our best bet for AM at the moment, |
lol had a great game and gets injured, boy has no luck. |
Both having a good game. Scored in 19' (Anichebe) and 22' (Yakubu). Both looking fit and dnagerous. |
Eneramo scores a double for Esperance today which makes him top scorer of the league. Thats on a side note, |
Ghana - Bosnia - terrible field of play, which is a big advantage for Bosnia, as they are more used to it. |
Is the match over? |
In Ghana - Bosnia its 1:0. Muntari scores. |
Sani Emmanuel is a true U17 and an enormous talent. If Chelsea take him he will become one of the greatest footballers of his generation. I have no doubt in that regard. He can be at least as good as Tevez or Rooney. |
Yeah right, Roger Milla an age cheat, I suppose you are trying to convince me he was 60 when he scored in the USA in 1994? Really people, There are some players you can accuse of age cheating but accusing Roger Milla, the oldest guy ever to play (let alone score a goal) at a WOrld Cup of being an age cheat is hilarious. And if Cameroonians are such age cheat why is it that win trophies and awards at senior level, but have yet to ever have any results at youth level, |
FC Sochaux - Le Mans 3:0 Ideye Brown scores two of the goals in the 54' and 70'. He just joined from swiss club Neuchatel, where he was vicescorer of the league with 12 goals. The third goal came from a penalty after a foul on Ideye Brown. |
You guys do remember that Taiwo almost allowed Nigeria to score against Algeria through a free kick bullet, that he played out a ball to Kalu Uche in the EGypt game that should have made it 2:0 and that he was the only player actually trying (with some successes) to level up with Egypt in the second half? Without Taiwo Nigeria has no idea what to do with freekicks, Taiwo does not score a lot of goals, but all he needs to do is thrash it at the keeper and more often than not the keeper will spill and allow for a rebound. |
Taiwo a supersub? He is a first team regular and arguably the best LB in Ligue 1. CURRENTLY. Not in the past. |
Taye Taiwo. He gives so much more to his side. You just have to know how to use him. He is one of the few world class players Nigeria have at the moment. |
Well, hate to bring it to you, but Egypt were even more mediocre, at least in the final. Ghana was in defensive mode and they still had more goalscoring opportunities than Egypt, Ghana were probably expecting an onslaught, but Egypt had one good situation during 90 minutes! Shattered? You need a dictionary my friend. They won. Barely. |
I must say I agree with Amodu. Yakubu may be out of form, but its not his fault. |
What match were you watching? In what way is having one goal opportunity during the whole match (not to mention trying to score from offside with you hand) shattering Ghana Ghana had more scoring opportunities than Egypt. Egypt had one goalscoring opportunity and they took it. |
If Nigeria win with Zambia they meet a depleted Ghana or Angola, Great for Nigeria, who must actually be favourites to reach the final now. |
Zambia the weakest? Did you see them play? They were by far the best team in he group, save maybe Cameroon. They are by far stronger than Ghana (with this squad), Algieria and Angola. Zambia has no qualities that make you respect them? You must be joking. Their defence has significantly improved since 2008. Apart from that they have a very solid midfield and they play better attacking football than Cote d'Ivoire' They are the best attacking team at this tournament and were it not for terrible finishing they would have thrashed both Tunisia and Gabon with a several goal margin. No other team at this tournament has sliced through their opponents defence with such ease and with such consistency. They may be an underdog, but if you saw them play there is no way you can say they are the weakest. If anything they are a good bet to cause a big shock and reach the finals. |
Lukman Haruna got his big chance to start for Monaco with all the players lost in Angola, he made his presence felt. Monaco won 4:0, Lukman scored 2 and assisted 1 (the own goal), One scored from within the penalty box, one with a shot just outside. Unbelievable match by the youngster. Hopefully he gets to play more and gets a place in South Africa. |
One simple question: If Taiwo is allowed to go forward where were the DMs filling in for him when he goes forward? Ergo: Not Taiwo's fault. If Amodu let him venture up front he should have plugged the hole. |
Katsumoto: I saw him make several well placed tackles and no one can get past him in the French league. He has actually made a name for himself for being unpassable. That said they don't let him venture up front too often in Ligue 1. The problem is sometimes his passing and also the fact that he doesn't backtrack fast enough. That said normally when a left back goes forward then the DM should cover for him as well as the winger. I did not see that happening hence the holes in the defence. Taiwo was one of the few players that actually posed a threat in the second half. And Kalu really should have at least tested the keeper after Taiwo supplied him with the ball in the first half. |
A suspect defender? No one in France would agree, |
You people are clueless, He is faultless when he defends and provides a big threat going forward. None of yesterday's goals were his fault (blaming him for the deflection is silly). It is not the fullback's job to cover center strikers. And Amodu had two DMs to cover for Taiwo when he goes forward. Thats how ALL coaches deal with this. Where were they during the first goal? He never loses out when defending and saved Yobo's and Obinna's backside at least twice yesterday. Taiwo DOES NOT make NEEDLESS mistakes. Anyone with any Ligue 1 knowledge knows that. Only in Nigeria would the most classy defender be constantly attacked, |
Kalusha Bwalya never achieved much, but he is one of the best footballers from Africa. Awards aren't all that matter. |
next1: Osaze Odemwingie deserves to be in the best 100 and Taye Taiwo would at least be in the top 200. |
WHat is it with you people? Taiwo was the best defender on the field and you keep nagging on him? He's a left back! The offside trap being destroyed by Egypt was not his fault! |
Again: That's why Taiwo is in the first team. |
wtf? Mikel off, Kanu on? I understand Kanu, but Mikel should stay!!! take off i.e. Ayila |
that's why Taiwo should stay, you have no idea how many goals are scored from rebounds off Taiwo's shots in Ligue 1, |
had a great game and gets injured, boy has no luck.
Ghana had more scoring opportunities than Egypt. Egypt had one goalscoring opportunity and they took it.
