FamilyMinding Your Own Business: by marvelck(op): 8:28am On Jun 07, 2011

"Minding Your Own Business",
by Marvel Eke on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 12:38pm

"Minding Your Own Business", this reminds me of the incident that happened the other day, when an innocent woman was tongue lashed and almost beaten up by some ladies clad in suggestive attires, for voicing her displeasure and also daring to correct and advise them on how to dress decently in public. They even went as far as threatening to strip her unclothed and teach her the lesson of her life for questioning their way of dressing in this "modern time and age" You can imagine how the woman must have felt afterwards, simply because she was only trying to say what is right and what is wrong. Had it been she knew, she'd have just minded her business and looked the other way, just like the way most people in this part of the world, normally do whenever they see others doing bad things (minding their own business, I suppose). And that's why so many things are going wrong in our nation today, when vices are being promoted, appreciated and rewarded in some cases, more than virtues. as more and more people are getting corrupt and going scot- free or treated with kid gloves whenever they are apprehended, when perpetrators of evil, walk the streets free, daring you and I to point them out or apprehend them, and with our politicians, law makers and Government officials feeding fat on our treasury, while the masses wallop in object poverty. Simply because, nobody is doing anything to stop this rot and do the right thing. when bad things are allowed to continue, it will definitely become a normal thing, Please lets speak out and stop the rot in our society, before we all are consumed by it!

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: The End Of Hitv - Multichoice/dstv Wins Back Epl Coverage Rights In Nigeria by marvelck: 4:46pm On Jul 27, 2010
The reasons Hitv lost the rights to showcase premiership matcehs to DSTV, is not far fetched. Dstv was able to nick the deal due to the superlative coverage of the FIFA 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Just check out the way Supersport covered all the matches at the world cup. Tell me, who wont want to do business with them. Hitv should just go back to the drawing board to restrategies and improve on their content and think of better ways of retaining their subscribers, winning back old customers and luring new ones to their side as well. The world is competitive.

TOO LATE TO SHINE,

It's our time to shine,
as our African skies are lite up with stars,
Celebrating the love of the game,
and the coming together of nations,
who bask in the euphoria of a vivacious crowd,
and surrounded by the deafening but exciting sound
of the vuvuzelas,
blown from dusk to dawn,
as teams battle among themselves,
for the coveted trophy.
and as the world cup enters it's crucial stages,
there've been so much struggles, surprises and upsets,
even fears and tears,
from an aged and spineless Italian side,
a crisis-prone and colourless French team,
and an highly rated but fearful "Three Lions",
who had so much, but gave so little.
and not to forget our own
ever woeful Nigerian Eagles,
and a disappointing Ivorien and Camerounian teams,
who failed to seize the opportunity
of a tired and wobbling European contigent,
to shine.
like the South Americans,
led by Argentina and Brazil,
who have shone like a million stars,
leaving many dazed and stunned,
with their sublime skills and determination,
to excel and be counted among the best.
This could have been our time,
on our own motherland,
to make "HISTORY"
if not for our emissaries,
who ended up misery,
and made mockery of us,
before our adversaries,
unable to do what,
even a "5 year old"
could have done so easily.
but for Ghana and South Africa,
who gave us a few to flaunt,
our story would have become history.
And as the contest get tougher,
the "real" contenders can only get stronger,
like true champions,
and with enough passion to aim higher,
and become like heroes,
and not zeroes,
like our own Eagles,
with over-bloated egos,
but with less laurels and Euros,
compares to other Eto's.
and as the rest wave their flags,
it's definitely too late to shine for the likes of Yakubus, Martins, Osazes and the Kaitas,

Written below is my answer to IBB's ambition to rule Nigeria again. Happy reading.

ALONG COMES AN IBB…

Along comes an IBB,
Once the gap toothed,
Grand commander of the Nigerian polity.
Who held sway as the number one citizen,
Before being shaken and tactically pushed aside later,
To become a spectator,
To the drama and chaos,
That befell the Nation,
In the hands of a skirt loving goggled general,
A now carrying white beard smooth operator,
A farmer turned “Kampe” president,
And under the twin rulership of a vulnerable man
and his devious wife, popularly known for
her cockroach infested kitchen cabinet.
And out of the blues,
With his assailants no more in sight,
And on his tail,
He springs out,
Like a rabbit from his hole in Minna,
And with the sympathy of some.
Declaring his ambiguous ambition,
Under a “ashy” cloud and panic stricken world.
Sending shivers and quakes,
Across the nation and beyond.
He’s set to dazzle and mesmerize the polity once again,
With the support of his chameleon but loyal lieutenants,
And another set of IBB boys,
But now in civilian clothes,
And the head of senate.
Either to cool or heighten the already tensed field,
With his dramatic ingenuity.
Typical of a Maradona,
But now with the deft moves,
And artistry of a Lionel Messi,
Acquired over the years on the sideline.
All seems like a smooth sailing for the general,
Without a Beko, Gani or Fela,
To breathe down his neck,
And a Falana busy chasing shadows with EFCC.
Others could be swerved,
By creating another juicy parastatal or position,
To keep a volatile Soyinka in check,
Or making an Atiku head of the United Nation, I guess,
And putting a radical Buhari as chairman of NNPC,
Or another PTF.
While the nation is kept under siege again,
With many of the opposition “lock down”
Or sent on exile.
But this time,
To either neighbouring Ghana or Cotonou,
No thanks to the volcanic ash,
Which might not permit any “juicy” trip abroad,
For any runaway critic.
As the general strides along,
To that hilly, slippery, rocky domain.
Maybe in search of some hidden secrets,
Or treasure tucked under the bunker.
But not like the one shattered in dodan,
During that infamous
“Coup de grace”
Along comes an IBB,
To rewrite history,
Or to save the Nation?
When a Jonathan is in power,
With all the luck in the world,
And with the support both at home and abroad.
There’d definitely be enough drama,
In Aso Rock.
As the race for the “vacant” throne intensifies,
And with a turai lurking around,
Reluctant to let go.
Even at the risk of her man’s life,
All because of a “name” tag?
And some bags of aso rice…

NB: Leave IBB to GOD. Let him be overstretching his luck. GOD dey.

and like the adage that says "THERE IS NOWHERE THAT THEY DON'T COOK AT NIGHT, BUT IT IS DONE MORE IN SOME PLACES THAN THE REST" describes the case of Jos, when it comes immoralities. mind you, i'm not bias when it comes to issues like this. i like calling a spade a spade. and i thought over it well. good evening!

PoliticsRe: Jos Crisis Again by marvelck: 11:49am On Jan 25, 2010
the problem in Jos-Plateau, is not only political and religious, there's more to it. and this has to do with the rate of immoralities and level of wickedness in Jos-Plateau. you need to go there and see the kind of immoral lifestyle they live over there. from the top to the lowest man and woman in the street. and there's so much wickedness among the people there. and the majority of the christians there are not genuine christians (true believers). they go to church on sundays and commit immoralities from mondays till saturdays, and then go to church again on sunday. it's like a "vicious circle" in many house-holds, they have two to three teenage mothers. girls of about 14-16 years, becoming single mothers with no husbands or the "useless" men responsible for their conditions around. the guys there are fond of "chopping, impregnating and dumping these girls" and leave them to the mothers to cater for. while most of their women and girls (including married women) flirt and sleep around with men. one can go on and on with the terrible things that goes on in Jos-Plateau State. everybody is involved. the people there, need to come together and seek for forgiveness from GOD and depart from their sinful ways. the immoralities there is just too much.
PoliticsRe: Jos Crisis Again by marvelck: 11:34am On Jan 25, 2010
Everybody is just blaming the hausa muslims and politicians for all the crisis in Jos-Plateau State. Nobody is thinking why all of this is happening. Nobody is blaming it on the sins in the land. for Jos has become a land with so much immoralities. a land where virtually everybody is sleeping with everybody. where all the guys are sleeping with all the girls and vice-versa. and where women (even married women) sleeps around with men and vice-versa. and where there's so much wickedness in the land, and deception in churches and the increasing rate in the practice of money rituals by many.a land where people just go to church as part of tradition/normal sunday routine, and not for salvation.where majority of the churches are mere buildings full of deception and fake believers and not houses of GOD. Jos has become a land full of immoralities. everybody need to think. because everybody is involved.
