Get their own place but struggle to pay tuition. That's the angle I am coming from. Do we have to let our family and friends suffer when we are in the position to help?

Edit: I just read your other posts and I see that you are speaking from the hurt of past experience(s). What strikes me from your stand on this issue is what I have come to see might be the problem with Nigerian hosts, such as mine (story for another day)

You complain on one hand about "entitled" guests and here you are with a reportedly well behaved one, but your reaction is that the person should move out, thus defeating the purpose of seeking accommodation with you in the first place. Meaning you are not in support of helping regardless of how the guest conduct themselves. Hian!

You got me wrong, please don’t misquote me. I never said said that well behaved guests should move out. What I meant is that If your guest is paying your rent, then what is the point of squatting with you? Such guest can afford to pay for their own place. There’s good and bad. I’ve got friends I will move the earth for, when they come to the UK I always put them up. They are more than well behaved and I won’t be happy if they stay in a hotel. There’s mutual respect in the relationship, I don’t expect any guest to pay for my bills.

My sister

I been a believer of as I am rising let me uplift others, but I noticed in Nigeria once you constantly help someone its becomes entitlement and ingratitude. Now I do one help and keep it moving..... a friend once worked in a transport business. She said nobody ate the owners money like his own relatives. The same people he trusted made sure they ran it to the ground because of the confident na their brother thing , he can't accuse or fire them

a lot of our people don't understand that love is two way

When you try to help this people their mentality is that there’s plenty more where that came from. It’s sickening to be honest

Isn’t this always the case with Nigerians, bribe their way out of everything.

Pop of India - 1.38b, Pop of Nigeria - 206m. We can't even begin to compete in terms of the sheer number of people they have to be employed in these places.

I do agree with you tho that the Asians (Indians, Pakistanis especially) will unite to lift themselves. I was chatting with a Nigerian friend about how all corner shops are owned by Indians who employ only Indians. They will live 3 families to one house and pay down the mortgage on that, then pool resources and buy for the next person then rinse and repeat. They will not only employ family members but sort visas etc. Our people no go gree to share house like that o

It's a lot harder for us to do so abroad even though we do it at back home. It's an interesting phenomenon!

Set up a business and employ Nigerian relative, they will run it into the ground for you and even bankrupt you in the process. The Asians truly care about each other and it’s a two way relationship. In Nigeria there is a sense of entitlement that is misplaced.

Until you walk in this shoe , is all I can say. Its not an easy waka taking in others, carrying your load and another person (even if na sibling) ..... but I give it to the Asians. Them dey try when it comes to lifting each other even of its a great inconvenience

What if you find one Nigerian from Nigeria who did NONE of these things? In fact the guest hates the heater because it gives them headache, guest buys groceries before their host does, chose a utility bill without being asked and paid consistently, cooked, cleaned etc, but when the host could not find any excuses, suddenly "just needs their space". Obodo oyinbo! Hian!

Not complaining o!

If the guest can do all these things then they can certainly get their own place and their dignity intact.

Hargreaves Lansdown. I have been with them for almost 10 years. I see a lot of dodgy brokers posted here. It's only when you want to withdraw your profits you know the genuine brokers from the dodgy ones. HL have never failed me.

Vanguard are also very good and their Brooker fees is very minimal.

I avoid crypto like a plague.

This is my current watchlist. If I had a spare £35,000 minimum I don't need right now and I could afford to lose it all, I would invest £5000 in each of these companies and leave it for 5 years. £35,000 should more than double to £70,000 minimum in 5 years time.

This is my style of investment too. Long term and watch your income grow. Choosing companies with high dividend yield also.

But he already works in the company and all he is doing is essentially inter company transfer but to a lower grade and similar salary. This effectively means a pay cut if given the lower cost of living and taxes in Nigeria. I suggest he stays and get a role equivalent to what he's at now before moving.

You are right, from that salary in Nigeria he will pay school fees, area security etc..

they are edible but hosts a dangerous parasite just as snails. so it is risky to eat them

If eaten raw. There are some parts of Nigeria where they are eaten but they are cooked.
