The Nigerian government needs to start taking the mental health of its citizens seriously. Depression is an illness and can make people take their life. It’s not something to joke about.

Hi guys,
My husband works in another city and takes the train to work and he spends alot on that cos taking the bus is almost the same amount. We have tried to get a digital railcard but didn't see any one for his 30+ age category. Is there any other way to get a discount on train fare?

You can get the National railcard which is £30 annually. You don’t get discounts if you are travelling during peak periods. The only way to get around it is if , your husband can come to some kind of agreement with his employer and start his travel after 9.30am. Also if his job allows him to work from home then he can maybe travel in 2 days instead of 5 days. If you don’t ask you don’t get.

Good evening Ancestors on this street. I need your guidance here. We just relocated to Coventry from Naija and in the process of finding school for the kids. We wrote to the council and they scheduled a zoom meeting with us where they interviewed us alongside the kids. (6 and cool they told us that the nearest school of our choice has vacancy for the 6 year old in grade 2 while they do not have vacancy for the other kid who should be in grade 4. They said the option we have is to accept the nearest school for the grade 2 and the other farther school for the other one while we apeal to the council to see if they can reconsider and place both in same school

That is one. The next is that if they eventually place them and we want them fed, we would have to pay to the school for feeding. That one confuse me. I thought public schools in UK feed their pupils. Abi Coventry own dey different. How do I handle this feeding own.

I always thought that free school meals were for those kids whose parents receive benefits, please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.

The problem I have with Luton is lack of investment in social infrastructures, they keep maintaining outdated infrastructures and refused to modernise them. This is very common in many city councils outside London where you have majority ethnic minority running the council, running most of the businesses, owning houses. They award contracts to companies linked to friends and families. No maintenance culture. Identify politics etc.

The same problem in Bradford but look at Leeds which is just 20mins away, far better than Bradford’, properly managed.

The whole thing be come a mess when Eastern Europeans moved in especially gypsy Romanians . Crime and antisocial issues skyrocketed.

Almost like you’re describing the London borough of Tower hamlets same thing is happening there.

You have a point, and yes glasgow has an increasing drug rate over the years. I saw the documentary and have been following up with the news on that topic.

Yes, there’s gonna be increase crime rate in any city that houses people from different countries, origin and culture.

But one thing I think you may have gotten wrong is comparing the crime rate (not junkies) in Scotland to other parts of the UK (England to be precise in this discussion). The other types of crime that are very common in London are not as common here in Glasgow. Yes, it’s possible the crimes are here, but not as pronounced as with London.

Also you searched for the cities with high crime rate in Scotland, you obviously will have cities listed out. If I am to search for cities with high crime rate in Finland, New Zealand or Sweden (which happen to be the peaceful countries on earth), you will still find cities listed out.

What I think you should do is type top 10 cities with high crime rate in uk. Then check how many cities are from Scotland. If you still think it’s too small, then you can increase to top 20 and see how many Scottish cities will appear.

NB: I am still Johnny just come in some ways, but this is a topic I researched thoroughly before choosing Scotland as a place to school and live with my family.

The point I am trying to make is that all cities have got their good and bad areas some worst than others, drug problems is as bad as knife problems because it tears families apart and changes their lives forever. When the drug problem is taken out, it will reduce the other crimes.

If you want to live in a crime free area it’s better to live in a small village, with no train station or high street. With one c of England, one pub and one corner shop. And where everyone knows each other and know when a strange face comes into town.

London is big so not everywhere oooo. I don't see druggie or poo in my area. Even the train station area is quite neat . You have some good areas in West London.

Tell me the part of West London and I will tell you the bad areas. Even Kensington and Chelsea have bad areas.

Is either you haven’t seen your town centre on Saturday or Sunday morning or you are living in denial. I repeat thud again… no single city in the UK is free of this problem. They all have bad areas, drug dens, run down council houses.

You are right, most Uk cities with a train station and high street have these problems. Glasgow is the no one drug capital of Europe so Scotland is not exempted.

Scotland
When it comes to researching the most dangerous places to live and work in Scotland, a lot of different types of surveys would appear ranging from all of the crime rates that can occur in the area. Scotland is an independent country and though a lot of the research found was closely linked to other parts of the United Kingdom these are the top 6 places for high crime rate in just Scotland alone:
Glasgow City
Edinburgh City
Dundee City
West Dunbartonshire
North Lanarkshire
Aberdeen City

Luton is rough, I’m part of the people living here. Lots of drugs, gambling, burglaries. Everywhere is just rough, maybe because I’m comparing to Newcastle oo… but I had to adjust my walk and dressing to avoid talk. The number of Junkies that will walk up to you and ask for money or drugs or smoke sef go shock you. On new year na so ambulance full everywhere, apparently some people had over partied and overdosed. And it’s dirty, you’ll see different types of vomit, shit, broken glass as you’re walking around.

There are other cities to stay in UK, research can’t give you the full low down on a city/town before you move. You either see it yourself or hear from someone else.

It sounds like London only worse….

No offence meant but "ethnic cleansing " is a specialist term implying genocide. I think the word you want is probably gentrification which you have also used.

True, more social cleansing

If you can afford it...white,black,brown!

Look at all the Hong-Kong citizens buying up all these new builds as they relocate to the UK

Although the right word is “social cleansing “ because most of the individuals involved were of ethnic origins the word “ethnic cleansing” was adopted.

Lol.
Well, considering that so-called white Brits are less than half of London's population, the gentrification is not solely oyibo-driven.
i.e. ability to pay London's crazy house prices is not race-specific.

What’s another word for pushing out the working class out of a particular area. Especially when majority of the individuals are immigrants?Hammersmith and Fulham council was publicly accused of this and the word used was “ethnic/ social cleansing”.

"Reverse white flight" is the term you're looking for.
Oyibo coming back to the places they left for Asians.

There’s always a subtle way to state the obvious. Peckham is also an example. grin grin grin

Genocide is a strong word to confuse with ethnic cleansing. There are many types of ethnic cleansing. Genocide is on the extreme. Ethnic cleansing doesn’t always mean death of the individuals concerned.

Ethnic cleansing and gentrification are two different things. Although gentrification leads to ethnic cleansing in a way.

What part of London are we talking about here?

I won't near any of the top 5. They're even in red, as in danger lol...

The truth is most of the people that compile these list, don’t live in the real world. I will take it with a pinch of salt. Hackney, Brixton and Highbury and Inslington used to be on this list, until the towns were gentrified and ethnic cleansed and it’s now out of the reach of the common man. The same was done with Stratford.
What people don’t understand is that there is ethnic cleansing going on in London. The only affordable boroughs in London at the moment is Barking and Dagenham and maybe Croydon. Soon only the rich will be able to buy a place in London.

Bolton, Oldham and Leicester are definitely Asian.
Boston is virtually eastern Europe.
I wonder why Leeds, Plymouth and Southampton are on that list..
As for Barking, I would have thought it would be higher, lol.
and I didn't see Birmingham - by reputation alone, it should be there.

No Scottish location on the list, I see.

It looks like the list is for England. Birmingham or Wolverhampton didn’t make the top 50 this year. I’m sure they were on the previous years list.
