Where una dey buy tools ooo, I need assorted screw drivers and all various work tools for DIY. I bought a set a year ago from poundland and morrisons, their tips are already chipping off and getting blunt. Where do I get stronger ones please?

If you have a screwfix or wickes near you get it from there. The ones sold in the supermarket are not fit for purpose.

That’s basmati rice, you have got to wash it in cold water to get out all the starch and you steam it (very low heat and tiny water with a teaspoon of vegetable oil) when you master how to cook it properly, long grain rice will be a distant memory to you.

It's not paedophilia, it's Hebephilia. Stay updated.

terminology

Introduction
Get the facts
Understanding the terminology

Start now
Many people who have a sexual attraction to children also have a sexual interest in others, including people their own age or older. Terms such as ‘paedophilia’ are generally used in the media and society to refer to any sexual interest in children, but this is not always correct.

You may also encounter other terms, such as ‘paraphilia’, when looking up information on sexual disorders. The following information, while not intended to be used diagnostically, may be helpful in explaining some of the terms.

What is a ‘paraphilia’?

A paraphilia is a sexual arousal to something regarded as unusual. There appears to be no single commonly accepted definition and it is acknowledged that what is regarded as sexually ‘unusual’ varies across time, place and cultural norms. Paraphilia may be preferred as a term by some therapists as it can be seen as less judgmental than other terms, such as ‘sexual deviance’. However, there remains some debate about the terminology.

What is ‘paedophilia’?

The tenth edition of the International Classification of Mental and Behavioural Disorders (ICD-10) classifies paedophilia as a disorder of sexual preference. A disorder of sexual preference involves unusual sexual urges and fantasies that are strong and recurrent, and which lead the person to act out the urges or be distressed by them. To be classified as a disorder, the problem has to have been present for at least six months.

Paedophilia relates to a specific disorder where there is a preference for sexual activity with a prepubescent child or children. Therefore, it would not usually be the correct description for someone with a sexual preference for under-age teenagers (see hebephilia, below).

The term ‘paedophilia’ should not be used to describe young people under the age of 16 who have a sexual preference for younger children. ICD-10 criteria stipulate that the person with the disorder is at least 16 years old and at least five years older than the child or children who are the focus of their sexual preference.

Hebephilia and ephebophilia

Hebephilia is the term used to describe a preferential sexual interest in pubescent (i.e. early adolescent) individuals, rather than adult partners. As with paedophilia, it is not a term that would be applied to under-16s. A related term is ephebophilia, used to describe a preferential sexual interest in adolescent individuals (usually mid-late teens).

Hebephilia and ephebophilia are not formally defined as specific clinical disorders, but if the focus of the sexual preference leads to problematic behaviour and/or emotional distress, and if these problems are persistent (more than 6 months), they would likely meet ICD-10 criteria for disorders of sexual preference. This would need to be assessed by a professional.

Yes we can put up YouTube videos but we should avoid putting up false information (especially about Uk). The other day this same lady video was posted here and she was saying dependants needs to come to the uk 6 months before applying for PSW which is not true and she was saying it in confidence.

I am not advocating for false information, I don’t know about that video and I am talking generally about we blacks supporting each other like other races do, instead of knocking each other down. Of course, it’s wrong to put up videos with misleading information and such people need to be called out. In the process others who are working hard to put something out there, should not be belittled or made fun at. It’s not easy to do.

Every man and his dog now has a YouTube “shanel” undecided

It’s a good thing, let us try and encourage each other to have YouTube accounts if we can or have the time. The first videos are always going to be cringing but it will get better with time and experience. We should motivate each other to grow and be better at the things we are trying to do.
Other races are putting silly videos on YouTube and making loads of money, why shouldn’t we blacks do it? Yes, even cats and dogs are making money from YouTube. Nothing wrong with that.

I have a question about this credit card stuff.. I am about to apply for one but I don’t understand when they charge the apr. Is it when you default in payment or whenever you use the credit card?

If you pay your statement balance in full on or before the due date then you don’t have to pay any interest.

Thanks.

No, the council tax is residential, paid till march already sef.

Add that to your document proof. If they still refuse to place you on residential billings, report them to the energy ombudsman as a last resort.

Elders,

I got a new apartment, moved in on January 7th this year (Band C, 2bed). The apartment was previously a business property before it was bought and renovated by my Landlord but still reads a business address on Royal Mail, I contacted RM for an update and they referred me to the address and numbering dept at the local council for the update which is being worked on. My Landlord equally said he has made all documentation to effect the change.

I called the gas and energy (OPUS - they provide energy for only for businesses) provider immediately I moved in to inform them the address is now a residential address and no more commercial property so I can move to another provider, they promised to do the update anytime I called which made me feel at peace.

The problem came in today... I got the gas and energy bill for about 20 days and it is over 600 pounds!

I contacted the energy company and they said I have been billed as a commercial property because they could not update my address due to the fact that Royal Mail still states the address as a commercial property.

The meter readings are accurate.

I carried my Landlord along all through.

What can I do? Ki ni kin se?

Thank you.

Write them a letter by post and email, with your tenancy agreement to show that there’s no business activity going on at least the best they can do is to reduce the vat from 20% to 5%. Tell them you are disputing the bill, that way you can’t incur any additional charges. Is the council tax business rate as well?

Nigerians are actually very bad at english especially the new generation. Just read articles on Nairaland. A good example is the common use of the word "staffs" instead of "staff"

I have noticed that Ghanaians and south African countries Zambia, Tanzania etc have a better grasp of English than Nigerians

Even the journalist and their reports are riddled with bad English.

The truth is bitter and you are going to get attacked for your post because Nigerians find it so difficult to accept the simple truth. They just dance around it and make excuses.

I am not happy here, after putting in all my best in job interview for a PA role in one of the big four accounting firm, i was successful in the first stage I did in Nigeria, the final interview was in uk , I was asked the same questions which I knew I did well, just for me to receive a regret mail that I was unsuccessful, I keep asking my self what went wrong, is it because I don't have UK experience? I put in my best and have years of experience in the role. What went wrong ( feeling so sad). I need advice please.

What can I do to get adminstrative jobs in the UK, honestly I have been applying. I know the job that I can easily get is care work, but I don't really like it. Please I need advice to stand my feet in this UK what best to start doing.

Just need advice to be strong in this UK.

Please if there is anybody living in Northampton kindly let me know, I am really feeling alone here.

Many thanks

PA role in the UK is very subjective depending on who your boss is.
The PA knows everything about the boss even stuff his wife doesn’t know, they book all his flights, business meetings, has access to his credit cards and accounts in some cases. Even books his family holidays, etc

That’s what I meant by being subjective and it also depends on the organisation.

Keep trying don’t give up , you can also try for a lower position just to get your feet in the door, then once you have brushed up and acclimatised to the British culture then you can then go for the big role.

Thank you very much, this is an eye opener. My apartment has dehumidifier but I didn't know the value. I remember my landlord telling me when I came to put it on when I wash clothes I just said ok. After reading this post, I read the manual and put it on, you need to see the quantity of water it has collected in my enclosed room. Many part of my walls that were wet are now dry.

Humidity level was 90% when I put it on, it is now 68% at the time of this typing. 40% is my target.

Knowledge is power. I hope your problem will be sorted out soon. It’s really good to talk. smiley

You need to tackle the source of mold. In the meantime, buy a dehumidifier to take out the excess moisture in your house. Brand new ones are about £200 or you could pick up a fairly used one from Facebook.

Instead of buying, you can hire one.

Wow ...what a terrible landlord. So the landlord could not provide white goods for rental. Na wah

Never heard a tenant providing fridge, washing machine... I get unfurnished but unfurnished should come with white goods .

I am thinking the same too. The landlord always provides white goods except the tenant declines.

Had my driving test today (first time), and I failed. Feeling really bad right now. The sun decided to come out today of all days, and the reflection on the wet grounds made me lose track of my lane while crossing the roundabout, thus causing brief obstruction for the car behind. That momentary lapse in concentration cost me the test. I'm sure my instructor must think I'm dumb cos she knows I'm very familiar with the roundabout. Had other 3 minors, manoeuvres and parking were good. Feeling sad cry cry cry . End of rants. Anyone mind sharing their driving test experience and maybe any tip to pass the next one.

Don’t be too hard on yourself, you know where you made mistakes just concentrate on them for next time . Be sun ready, cool cool Good luck.

Family / Re: My Wife Is Not Interested In Relocating Abroad! by marylandcakes: 1:28pm On Jan 17, 2022
Realchairmann:
This is kinda confusing to me. I've been married to my beloveth wife for 11 years and counting. God has blessed us with three kids of ten, four and a year old. We are having a wonderful Union and time of our lifes.

For sometime now, I've been nurturing the idea of relocating abroad. My wife has BSc and MSc in Microbiology but has been jobless since she concluded her NYSC the year we got married. I'm ready to sponsor her for PHD to any country of her choice to pave way for I and the kids to follow later.

However, she has turned me down whenever I brought up the issue. Her response is always tied around the bond we share and that she can't just leave her kids and travel abroad.

I have a good paying job but I really want her to explore her potentials too. She's a very good wife and an excellent mother but I'm confused why she's skeptical about leaving this Country.

Or am I the one taking too much risk?

This is more of your dream than hers, you’re living fine and both of you are happy. No amount of money can buy what you have. Instead use that money to encourage her to start something in Nigeria, since she has no interest in relocating abroad. If you relocate and things do go as planned, there might be too much resentment in your marriage. “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it”
