Christianity EtcRe: Akudaya:myth Or Reality? by masqot(m): 7:34am On Nov 16, 2014
I'll not believe the existence of these Akudaya in the real sense of it. One, report about sighting them is usually a third, fourth or even fifth party report ( i.e the person that actually witnessed it is usually nowhere to be found).
Then, according to several reports heard, the story always end in " he/she disappeared into thin air". Why?
My belief is this;
The dead person is dead. I doubt if those that sighted Akudaya actually sighted one ( maybe, they just saw a look-alike and by the time they got back to confirm it with other people, they discover It's by no means the person).
Lastly, why do Akudayas disappear? They've got something to hide. Evil intention aimed at causing confusion. This make me believe a contributor who said, Akudayas are Jinn - the evil ones, that want to deceive the gullible.
EducationRe: Nigerian Girl Commits Suicide In New York by masqot(m): 10:44pm On Nov 15, 2014
It's a pity she's gone. People who commit suicide usually have prior attempt(s). First the parents did not make the girl understand she's got to be responsible for her action or she's got emotional "issues". Moreover, the school didn't handle her case well.

RomanceRe: Dating Your Cousin: Is It Ethical? by masqot(m): 9:42pm On Nov 13, 2014
Stop it if you've started it. Of all the women/men in this world? Infatuation of the highest degree. Ethic has to do with moral, value and belief in your domain. It's a NO for me and many culture I've come across.
Art, Graphics & VideoRe: Who Dies In This Picture? by masqot(m): 10:05pm On Nov 02, 2014
Nobody.
2 things are always involved.
1. While D hides in that hollow, the cut ball rolled by E hanged in the hollow.
2. The weight of the ball rolled by E is not sufficient to catapult the full-size ball on the level. Thereby, leaving B, C & D hale and hearty

HealthRe: 5 Things You Should Expect When Visiting A Public Hospital by masqot(m): 8:15am On Oct 29, 2014
When I saw this thread, I knew it would contain negative perception of the topic. I'm not disappointed and I don't have to read to tell you 5 POSITIVE THINGS ABOUT PUBLIC HOSPITALS
1) They can boast of, virtually, all branches medical personnel
2) That's where Medical experts are majorly produced
3) It's still very affordable for the common man. Don't forget free medical service for infants and the aged above 60
4) They offer services for a good number of the private hospitals
5) You don't pay for free services like immunizations in public hospitals.
These are not just contrary opinions but facts as well.

Nairaland GeneralOmonigho Abraham - The Boy Attacked By Fierce Dogs At Igando, Lagos Is Alive by masqot(op): 7:52pm On Oct 24, 2014
I came across these pictures and I feel like sharing it because I was moved when I read the story few weeks ago. I'm delighted to see that the boy Omo is alive and responding to treatment. I would have shared this on the thread where I read it but could not find it. What the boy experienced was "hell" going by these pictures. Please wish the boy well.

FamilyRe: BEATING YOUR KIDS; Discipline Or Abuse? by masqot(m):
Beating a child should be done cautiously, with corrective motive and not with anger or else it turns to abuse. I beat my children and also threaten to deprive them of certain enjoyment if they don't comply. I discovered that even at mere mention of cane they comply and immediately I achieve the compliance I show love to them.
For me, it's not an abuse if well-managed.
*Never beat when angered
*Don't shout at your kids. It only proves you're out of control
*Before beating, make the child realize his mistake
*If he apologizes, why not forgive
*Never, beat your child with your bare hand or kick.
Goodluck!
EducationRe: Court Upholds Ban On Use Of Hijab In Lagos Public Schools by masqot(m): 10:49pm On Oct 18, 2014
BetaThings:
So why do we have
"So help me God" in the National Pledge?
Or is CRK not taught in public schools?

Why is it that Muslims never object to whatever Christians want while
Christians get agitated whenever Muslims want anything

Let me see how objective you are
Can we have?
Workdays as Mondays to Fridays 1st half of the year and
Sundays to Thursdays - 2nd half of the year
OR
Workdays as Mondays to Fridays odd number years
Sundays to Thursdays - even number years
Not dragging issues here. I don't comment on religious matters but maybe because I got 14 likes (maybe the highest since I got on NL).
Yeah I don't know now but in the early 80s when I was in elementary schools, Christians and Muslem pupils had different classes for their religious subjects.
Secondly, I know parents that send their children to schools at a far distance from their home for religion reasons.
People go to work on Saturdays and Sundays; it's a matter of choice. If you need the job, you take it.
While organisations observe not less than 2 hrs break on Friday for Muslim brethren to pray, they as well allow Christians to hold their fellowship as well. Nobody can deprive a man of his belief.
If we look at this issue critically, we've got no issue about living together peacefully if we could realize we're first human being, made alike. In short, that we met religion on earth and we'll leave it right here. We've been highly religious tolerant set of people until foreign influences set in. This is true from the days of Moses, the days of Jihad to this dispensation when we lord religion over one another and mix religion with every other issues including politics.

People help when they have something to gain. Only few are selfless without any string attached. The moment you know this, park them and keep doing ur thing. Before you know it, they'll be wondering how you're doing it. Sam, if you fall, pick ursef back up
EducationRe: Court Upholds Ban On Use Of Hijab In Lagos Public Schools by masqot(m):
Putting religious sentiment above common sense has been our greatest flaw in this country. Our constitution tolerates several believes and non should be forced on people. If a parents wants Biblical or Quranic education, they should be well-informed on where to get such and they should send their wards their without making news out of it.

Though I'm not her fan, it's just bullsh** that even Google could just shut a money-spinning blog down just like that. Would they pay her clients back for all the business deals? Or someone just sat in one room and decided to bring her down based on a foolish report? Well, there are many blog sites out there?
So many website/blogs are thriving out there despite their malicious and obscene contents. It's a lesson, owning your site would be a better idea afterall.

PetsRe: Dogs Attacked My Brother Inside Our Flat ─ Seven-year-old by masqot(m): 10:29pm On Oct 07, 2014
It's just a pity the havoc the owner of those dogs has caused despite prior warning. I wonder why he unleashed fierce security dogs a shared compound. That might be unforgivable. As much as I love dogs, I want pet and not wild animals.
Moreover, kids are in that environment. For more than 1 hour, he (the owner) was not available to tame his wild animals.
Anyway, may God give that boy a speedy recovery so that the parents will be consoled.

AgricultureRe: Why Can't Apples Grow In Nigeria? by masqot(m): 9:20am On Sep 27, 2014
I want to believe it's a function of weather. Agric Scientists must have been trying to cultivate it here in Nigeria but with little success; so, they wouldn't publicise their work. There could be subsistence cultivation here but commercialization is still a tall hurdle "all" apples on the shelf are imported.
If scientists could develop a variant, an hybrid, that would thrive on our soil, better for us.
