to be honest , atiku is far far far more intelligent than buhari and all his ministers
he submitted an economic recovery blueprint to buhari immediately after buhari assumed office , it was dumped
obj too submitted his own , it was also dumped
buhari never had a plan , he never knew what he was coming to do
atiku can participate in an economic debate anytime , he is just like obj . they are both highly intelligent and know the worth of young brains
look at the composition of buharis cabinet compared to that of obj or even gej
all Nigeria needs now is someone who can bring all these brains together and give them a political covering in order to make them deliver their best.
he seems to be a man that already has a plan laid down already to follow unlike buhari who didnt have any , even right now he still hasnt got a plan about how to move the nation forward

hmm...

so what is the essence of having ministers & special advisers?

a look at the various budgets of this administration shows that funds are set aside for consultants in almost every ministry...

& yet, they still pay millions to a foreign firm to tell them what they know...

well, if the minister, special advisers & other appointees on the economy cannot deliver, then they should be sacked & money for their salaries used to pay the consultants...
my thoughts exactly, all the consultant are require to do is same thing special advisers are required to do with ministry.

Easier access of European goods into ECOWAS and destruction of Nigeria production. All those trucks coming to load products in Lagos warehouses will now go to Morocco, the industries will close down and send your brothers and sisters to the labour market.

Shebi na can fish and holiday you come do for this world while others are making money for your head and fixing their country for their children,
nothing like that will happen Morocco does not have the economic might of Nigeria, besides its cheaper to transport on water than land,Nigeria stands to gain more if Morocco is integrated into ECOWAS, it's a bigger market for our business men and capitalist.

This is what happens when you bite more than you can chew, wole tinubu borrowed large sums of money in order to purchase conophillips assets in Nigeria around 2013 with the believe that oil prices will stay high hence he will be able to pay off the debt quickly that wasn't the case as a result of the crash of commodity prices that was engineered by Saudi Arabia in order kick shale gas producers in the United States Out of business. Oando has been unable to repay it's debt due to low oil prices and that has been affected it's share price that went from 15 naira a share to less three naira burning alot of investors like yours truly in the process.
thanks for the insight, now I know its not political

Thanks for not being a rude ahole like some of these people.
I read Achebe said he couldn't get money he left in bank.
But the point is, no matter how many millions you had in Biaftan money they gave u 20 pounds. That seems unfair.
the question is where was the bank located, don't forget on that time everything was in black and white nothing was digital, if Achebe's money was in a Nigerian bank located in the east ,same bank that was burnt down by the biafran army and looted, which is a normal thing in war, where do u think the bank, which as at that time was owned by private entities will pay him without records, if he claims he has a million in accounts how would the bank verify? Point is all others that had money in banks that were in the west and North got that money back because there were records, the 20pounds story is a political gimmick used to paint Yoruba/Awo bad and that my friend is what is unfair.

A lot of them..that is the educated few..who put their money in the banks withdrew their money which is normal but at the end of the war everybody was magnanimously given 20 pounds... 12000 naira...and everyone that had money in other banks got their money back after the war, people like Azikwe,Ojukwu etc. What better way should the government have taken if I may ask my Biafla people..after the same Biafrans have stolen all the money in Benin central bank..
I really don't understand why they can't see the bigger picture, I won't be comfortable telling my kids blatant lies for political reasons, it just doesn't make sense that's what "some" Igbo elders have done, others that knows the real truth deliberately kept quiet.

Bro, 9jadoc is right, many people got no money. My grandpa was rich before the war but became poor after the war and stayed poor rest of his life. I was told he got the 20 pounds. Why this was news was because no other family member got it..
sorry about your grandpa, but have you asked some salient questions from your folks? 1st where did grandpa stayed before the war,in the west, north or in the east? With this you are a step closer to the truth, now yes 90% of people all over the world losses their fortune in the time of war, except the undertaker and the gunsmiths, that said, the war didn't happen immediately most people of Eastern origin withdrew their "" Nigerian pounds "converted it into biafran currency, its not possible that they will leave their money in Nigerian banks and head east, there is no records of the banks refusing to pay anyone before the war the problem was that records of depositors were lost in the east due to destruction of the banks, everyone that had money in other regions banks got their full money back after the war.e.g Azikwe,Achebe,Nwabueze.

which many people got no money Govt knowing fully well they don't have records declared 20pounds to those that had accounts in the bank and those who didn't have which was the majority, you think govt will annouce free 12000 naira today for everyone ,the equivalent of 20 pounds today people that av accounts and people that don't av accounts won't claim it?

two people are saying two different things, there is an official records written by the clerk of the western house, meanwhile it was a parliamentary system not like the ones we have now, that said, saraki as senate president today was voted in majorly by members of PDP ,APGA and LABOUR party with few members of APC,can we now say the preferred candidate of APC was betrayed by PDP members, you guys should stop lying to yourself,Unogo was a staunch member of NCNC he is only lying, same lies Zik told his eastern brothers that is the Genesis of the hatred between Yorubas and Igbo's coz of ambition is what unogo is saying now.

Nigeria changed their currency. All Igbos were given £20
regardless of how much pre-war NIGERIAN currency they had. That is CRUEL!!
Nigeria did not change her currency before the war, they did during the war, one of the reason they did that was that the biafran army sacked the CBN office in benin took away all the money, the Igbo's did not av money on Nigerian banks before the war, they withdrew it and went to the east, converted their money into Biafra pounds, you guys should stop lying its too obvious, dispite that the Nigerian govt paid every adult 20 pounds even the majority who never had any money in the bank got it,is that not fair enough?

Exactly. An Ibadan paper throughout that time, propped up by monies Awo took as a politician. Zik's paper, founded decades earlier, was transnational, certainly not an Onitsha paper.
so awo took money as a politician? And Zik did not, interesting, Awo started his paper when he was not in a political office.

there is nothing like NCNC gimmick, NCNC was the 1st party founded by a Yoruba man, most of the stalwarts of NCNC were Yoruba's,it was seen then as the Lagos party,in the SW it couldn't clinch the majority none of the parties then had a majority, AG and Ibadan parapo went into alliance and they formed the government in the western region nobody betrayed Zik,the official record is still there no one alive of dead can dispute that, all this old men are just perpetual liars.

Yeah, ok. But then what happened. When it came time to actually hand power to the non-indigene they just couldn't do it. They quickly reverted back to tribalism and have never looked back since.
there was nothing like handing over power, a government was meant to be formed, non of the parties involved had a majority, NCNC and AG did not have the majority to form a government, the 3rd party Ibadan parapo formed an alliance with AG to form the majority in the house and they formed a government, no one cross carpet, no one denied Zik his seat representing Yaba Lagos whose majority of the voters were Yoruba from Lagos,H Macurley a yoruba man appointed Zik to led NCNC after his death, Mr Unongo is either Ignorant of History or he is just a liar.

My brother, nobody has ever tried to equate Zik with Awo when it comes nationalism. They were not in the same league at all. Not even close. Zik was clearly thinking Africa while Awo was thinking Ibadan. As Unongo rightly said Zik started in US, thinking Africa. While Awo started in UK, thinking Oduduwa. Zik's paper was called "West African Pilot". Awo's paper would have been "Ibadan Pilot".
lolz would have being.... Lolz not only Ibadan pilot it was ikene pilot,FYI Awo's paper is still in existence its called the tribune.

Bro, was it out of Awo's unconditional love for the Igbos that he brought about the infamous ten pounds policy to reimburse them after the war, even those that had millions in the bank?

Awo was a staunch tribalist, just a highly intellectual and stealthy one.
let me ask you a question, if war breaks out now or the country split, will you leave your money on Nigerian banks or withdraw them all before you leave. Events then was well documented Igbo's left enmass, withdrew their money from the bank, after the war everyone those who had and those who did not have money at the bank were given 20pounds,now tell me anywhere in history was that done to the losing side.

Labour should not plunge the Nation into another recession, 30,000 minimum wage is not feasible, each state should determine her own minimum wages since their revenues and expenses are not the same, this is part of restructuring.
