tablet_girl: Thank you for being so open about it. God bless. Please, could you answer a few questions?

Please, did they pay before you shipped to them?
How did you manage with orders from far places and expensive courier bills or was it "free shipping" for them?
Did you register with Agofure as mentioned above or just gave to the driver?

Once again thank you smiley
To answer your questions quickly........
They have to pay to my account first then I ship their order to them. Its just like in the info marketing field where you have to pay money into the info marketers account first and then trust him to send your materials to you.

Managing orders from far distances is very simple... When people call to make enquiry, I ask them the numbers of quantities they wants. I let them know that they will have to bear the shipping cost if they are ordering from 9 pieces and below. But orders of 10 pieces and above will see them enjoying free shipping.

You don't have to register with any transport company. what I do is to go to the nearest park to me, which is Jibowu park. There you find vehicles going to all part of the country, then I hand over the package to the driver of the bus with the name and phone number of the receiver boldly written on it. Then I make sure I collect the driver's number, and flash it in his presence to confirm.

akorson5: pls sir am interested in buying of memory card ranging frm 2gb , 4gb 8gb from alibaba, aliexpress . Can u enlight me on how to go abt it pls..
Your best bet is to search for suppliers on Alibaba following the tips I shared with you in this post. You will get to buy the products at a very cheap price compared to when you are buying from Aliexpress. The only advantage Aliexpress holds over Alibaba is that its quite straight forward than Alibaba. But if you can find your way through, Ordering from Alibaba will pay you on the long run.

Just search for the products name on Alibaba and make sure you check the boxes at the top of the search page, i.e Gold supplier, assessed supplier, onsite check and Escrow services. This is to make sure that you are dealing with real and genuine suppliers.
BusinessHow I Made N100,000 Profit In 7 Days Advertising My Aliexpress Goods On OLX by mastercee(op): 10:46pm On Jan 08, 2014
I'm not going to bore you with stories in this post. I just want to share with you how I made N100,000 pure profit in 7 days advertising two set of wrist watches I bought From Aliexpress on .

Its obvious some people still have problem selling their products. I have a lot of people that do ask me to show them how they can easily market their products. We all know the Importation business is very profitable, Well, that is only if you have the market to sell your goods to and you have devised a channel to get it acrossed to them.

I believe we all know about OLX. One way or the other you would have come acrossed their advert on T.V. For those who haven't heard of it, OLX is Nigeria's biggest classified platform. Its a platform where buyers gets to meet sellers for various goods and services.

What I did after taking delivery of the wrist watches and selling to buyers I already had on ground was to create a simple but sweet and convincing advert on OLX. I provided enough pictures so that people can have good view of the products. And I made sure its not too expensive. After which I promote the link on Facebook to some groups which I belongs to. Within some few hours, I got my first order for one of the wrist watches. A two pieces order from Warri. I quickly sent it to her through Agofure Transport services. 2 days later she ordered for 30 pieces.

To cut the story short, I sold more than 140 pieces in 7 days because order kept coming in everyday from different part of the country. So far I have made N100,000 in pure profit just for the simple adverts I placed on OLX. You can check out the two adverts here:

http://ikeja./jq-rivet-rome-vintage-bracelet-watch-for-happening-ladies-original-cow-leather-iid-556202980

You can replicate my success. Just get a very good product on Aliexpress or any other Chinese trade portal at a very cheap rate, then sell at higher rate on OLX. VOILA!!!!

BusinessHow To Safely Source For Your Products On Alibaba - The Ultimate Guide by mastercee(op): 3:34pm On Jan 08, 2014
Its important to conduct proper due diligence when conducting a transaction, most especially online. Fraud is an inherent risk in any business dealings, either trading online or offline. One needs to do due diligence when dealing with manufacturers and suppliers on Alibaba and other similar trade portals. one of the challenges to overcome will be the diversity in cultural perceptions and language barrier. I know how difficult it can be when negotiating and communicating with suppliers on Alibaba. There are lot of things to better your chances of having a good experience with the Chinese people, but it requires some energy. I have decided to share some tips with you based on my personal experiences and researches.

Things to Note when searching for suppliers online........

1. Many so called "Manufacturers" are actually Middlemen Sellers. Have it at the back of your mind that you won't be dealing with the actual manufacturers most times.

2. Everything is negotiable with the Chinese. Always try to get a fair deal and not a good deal. Negotiate in such a way that both parties would walk away saying, "That's Fair". If you try to squeeze the supplier's margin, you tend to starting out a partnership with one side feeling slighted. This has been one of the major reasons people get scammed. The supplier couldn't ship the product profitably, so they disappear.

3. If you ask 20 suppliers if they can make a product according to your specifications, they will all say yes. The truth is, maybe one of them can actually do that. But never take their words for it. Always ask for samples and references.

4. For every one product available on the Alibaba platform, there are tons of suppliers selling the same product. Always search around and get a few prices and samples, then compare to get the best.

5. Always remember that the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) on Alibaba is negotiable. Although, you may have to pay more for a lower MOQ. you need to decide what is more important: Limiting your risk by reducing your inventory or buying the product cheaply. The result of your product testing will surely help you decide.

Now, Here are the things you need to do:

Research
Carry out a research on the product you intend buying. Check out the market selling price, the varying levels of quality of the product, common substitutions etc. you have an adequate knowledge about the product before proceeding into negotiation with Chinese suppliers. While sourcing for supplier, it was suggested using Google translate to convert the product name to Chinese and using the Chinese term to search Alibaba or other Chinese trade portals. Chinese List price is always cheaper compared to the English list price. For example, the English list price for a football jersey was $15, whereas the Chinese listing was $7. Always Conduct an extensive research!

Be Clear as much as Possible in Your Communication
The greatest challenge of buying from Chinese Manufacturers/Suppliers remains Language. The language barrier is very real. Chinese speaks little or not English at all. They frequently use translation programs to translate, and in most cases mis-translate e-mails. This can make the negotiation process a little frustrating. Always use simple and straightforward English. make use of numbers and bullet points as they can be easily be translated without problems.

Introduction Email
When searching for a supplier, keep your initial email contact clear and straightforward. Tell the supplier the exact product are seeking, your expectations in terms of quality, pricing details, cost of sample unit and including shipping to your address.

Here is a sample of simple email to send to suppliers and which I use most often:

"Hi (You can put his/her name here if you see it on their page)

I am interested in finding a supplier for (Insert product)

I have several questions:

1. What is your price per unit?
2. What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)
3. What available colors do you have?
4. What forms of payment do you accept?

In addition, I will require a sample to inspect for quality. How much will 1 sample unit cost including shipping to Lagos, Nigeria.

I look forward to building a great business relationship with you.

XYZxyz@abc.com"

Get Samples
Contact many suppliers and request for samples. At times, I get 5-10 samples before choosing one. sure it will cost me money but its probably one of the most important decisions you will make in the business.

Be Ready to Walk Away
As with any business negotiations, always be ready to take a walk. If the price isn't fair enough, walk away. From my experience, Alibaba suppliers would follow-up relentlessly, they will send an email with a better price few days later.

TIPS FOR CHOOSING AND RESEARCHING A SUPPLIER ON ALIBABA

1. Do they have GOLD Member status?

2. Check the suppliers company info. Do they have Telephone, website and valid email address?

3. Does their email address match the company name? Would you trust a supplier communicating with a Hotmail or Chinese equivalent email address?

4. Although, this really isn’t an option for many people, try to visit manufacturer’s factory and tour of the factory floor. If you can’t do that, at least pretend that you are considering coming and ask if you can set up a time to come by. If they say no, it might be a red flag.

5. Invoices should be clear, written in English and specify all clauses and guarantees. Does all the information on the invoice match the previous information you know and have collected about the company?

6. Check/search the forums on Alibaba: has anyone else been scammed? Is the manufacturer’s name mentioned at all?

7. What are the payment terms? Does the manufacturer accept Escrow? Escrow is the best way to pay suppliers on Alibaba. Safer than any other means

Conclusion
Completing all these steps and point can help you have a good business experience and avoid being scammed. Remember, there is no replacement for common sense. If something feels weird, walk away. If a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.

EducationASUU Strike And Its Ripple Effect (written By A Friend) by mastercee(op): 6:32am On Dec 23, 2013
It is indeed ironical to find that the same set of people who clamor to make Nigeria a foremost contender among the world's most buoyant economies are the ones draining the yolk of its future representatives. As sluggish days progressed into nerving weeks, and then into unbearably arduous months, the 2013 strike action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities proved to be one of the most devastating and lack-luster uproars ever staged by the body. With most stringent issues being left unattended to, while sensitive blame and provocative accusations are now the daily topics of public discourse, all seems to be unwell among the custodians of our nation's constitution.

However, this piece is not aimed at revealing the harbingers of the incessant turmoil in the country's various administrative dispensation, nor is it a pointer to the quiddity behind the ASUU/FG showdown, instead, it posits the discernible effects and most importantly, imminent results that the strike action may deal on the Nigerian youth. One ideology that guided the entire citizens to be the punch line of the just-concluded battle and perhaps, the reason why it garnered much publicity and support from within and outside the country was the FG's unwillingness to fulfillits promises to revamp the educational sector, either by allocating more funds or increasing the pay of university lecturers, if not both. The two parties had been accused of having alternative motives for their stern refusal to reach a comprehensive agreement, with ASUU coming under fire from prominent bodies such as Catholic Bishops and the Market Women Association of Nigeria. Meanwhile, Nigerian students who are essentially on the receiving end have been left to question who is really fighting for their welfare.

Also, various chapters of the executive committee of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) did not emerge from the discord unscathed, having being accused of incompetence and accepting bribes from top government officials in order to remain docile throughout the course of the strike. Needless to say, nothing qualifies to be held tangible enough for the restoration of the educational sector. Recent polls have cited Nigeria to possess the most numerous amount of Internet users, the redundant undergraduates taking a lion's share of the pie chart. While some are beginning to see Internet fraud as a booming occupation owing to the sheer oppression by the ostentatious lifestyles of their peers, others have simply taken solace in online pornography. The number of attendees at night clubs has also witnessed an overwhelming surge, thereby paving the way for constant abuse of drugs and alcohol.

Efforts at reducing crime rates in the society have taken a sudden plunge, with most holiday job providers now more reluctant to employ students-turned-urchins to their workforce. The pungent strike discouraged a large number of undergraduates from reading their books since most of them felt there was nothing to read for. Several social networking sites declared huge profits from the sky high increase in the number of registered users. Although, it is quite remarkable to find that amidst the anarchical political system, some students strived to make good use of their time either by volunteering to participate actively in governmental and community services, or modeling, blogging, just to cite a few.

In addition, the strike created a thriving habitat for famous bloggers both in Nigeria and the diaspora, to reveal various acts of indecency, negligence and corruption at the various arms of government and its parastatals, backed with pictorial and corresponding evidence. This did nothing other than sorely fuel the lividity of the ASUU top guns and its members, who seemed relentless in their struggle for stability in the country's most promising sector. It would be of no surprise if the new annual ranking of the world's best universities is devoid of a Nigerian institution, thereby leaving a sordid indentation on the erstwhile blooming reputation of UI, UNILAG & OAU amongst others. Furthermore, an impending malady might come to play if the victims of the 2013 ASUU STRIKE are rendered unemployable due to months of inactivity, with undergraduates in the medical and engineering field standing to take the most fatal gash. This however, allows either for downright nepotism or rigmarole in job acquisition, while the redundant populace are left to venture into unrelated lines of work in order to make ends meet. The phrase, "ASUU SUSPENDS STRIKE" is a reminder of a possible reoccurrence of an industrial action in the case of a breach of agreement, which underscores the horrendous level of dishonesty at the country's helm of affairs. For the average Nigerian student, the road to redemption stretches to endless extremes.

The series of ongoing events all culminate in a famous saying, "a nation divided against itself is destined for ruin.” Will Nigeria yield to the Americans' proposition of a nation that would cease to exist come 2015, even though they have their own dirty linen to wash? Will the Nigerian youth one day, stage an uprising and rid the government of corrupt officials as seen in other African countries? Or would the state of affairs be returned to a pristine state following fruitful dialogue and national conferences? These and many more are crucial questions left unanswered by the respective Nigerian bodies, and would go a long way in determining the credibility of the nation's heritage. In the end, we are all Nigerians and certainly are culpable if things go awry.

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Odikwa Madness...... End time things
LiteratureWole Soyinka: Things You Didn’t Know About Him by mastercee(op): 11:03am On Nov 26, 2013
Wole Soyinka is well known throughout Nigeria and the rest of the world as a brilliant playwright, poet and political activist. With more than 50 pieces of work, his writing includes novels, memoirs and a wide variety of essays. He is the first person in Africa to win the Nobel Prize in literature, and is respected for his willingness to speak out against repression and corruption. But beyond all of that, there are still many things you may not know about Wole Soyinka.

Though his father was an Anglican minister, Wole was an atheist

Wole’s father, Samuel Ayodele Soyinka, (whom he called S.A. or “Essay”) was an Anglican minister and headmaster of St. Peters School in Abẹokuta. His mother, Grace Eniola Soyinka, owned a market shop, was active in the women’s movement in her community and also was a practicing Anglican. Wole, on the other hand, was an atheist. His beliefs contributed greatly to his writing.

He’s got some pretty influential family members

Wole’s mother, Grace, was a member of the Ransome-Kuti family, known for its contributions to Nigerian art, religion, education, medicine and politics. His cousins include activists Beko Ransome-Kuti and Yemisi Ransome-Kuti, musician Fela Kuti, and Health Minister Olikoye Ransome-Kuti.

He helped found the first confraternity in Nigeria

While pursuing a degree in English literature, Greek, and Western history at University College in Ibadan, Wole helped found the Pyrates Confraternity with six others. It was built as an anti-corruption and justice-seeking student organization, themes that would play into much of his later work.

He’s been arrested multiple times

Before he was famously arrested during the civil war in Nigeria, he was imprisoned in 1964 after being accused of making political radio broadcasts disputing published election results.

Despite imprisonment, Soyinka was wildly productive, writing and producing several plays

Some of Wole’s most famous works were written during his 22-month imprisonment. He smuggled in materials such as books, pens and paper. Much of his work at this time, unsurprisingly, was focused on criticizing the Nigerian government that was restricting his freedom.

Wole went into voluntary exile amid concerns over the political situation in Nigeria

After resigning from his professorial duties at the University of Ibadan in April 1971, he spent five years of voluntary exile in Europe. During this time, he worked as the editor of “Transition,” Nigeria’s leading intellectual journal.

He has been married three times and divorced twice

He has been married to his third and current wife, Adefolake Soyinka, since 1989 and has three children with her (he also has children by his other wives). Adefolake is a former student of Wole’s.

He has never been afraid to criticize other nations or his own

Wole is well known for making contentious statements against other nations, including European nations where he lived in exile. It demonstrates his commitment to exposing injustice regardless of the location, and his willingness to make unpopular moves.

In Nigeria, he is considered a political activist first and a playwright second

Despite his amazing body of work, Wole’s long history of criticizing the Nigerian government and taking action against corruption are among his greatest legacies. He remains an influence on writers and activists in Nigeria and across the world.

He has been named Commander of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

This is a Nigerian honor first established in 1964 people who served and benefited Nigeria. Soyinka was awarded in 1986, the same year he won the Nobel Prize for Literature.
