Travel › Libyan Officials Rape Most Young Ladies In Detention – Nigerian Returnees by MasterofNL(op): 1:37pm On Feb 15, 2017 |
Lagos – Nigerian returnees from Libya have appealed to federal and state governments to provide job opportunities for Nigerian youths to prevent them from endangering their lives looking for greener pasture abroad. Some of the returnees said on Wednesday in Lagos, that they decided to leave the country because they were jobless. They said that they travelled to Libya with the hope of crossing to Europe through the Mediterranean Sea in search of jobs. Recalled that on Feb.14, 161 Nigerians returned voluntarily from Libya. They were assisted back home by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) after being detained for several months in Libyan detention facilities. They arrived in Lagos singing songs of praise and beaming with smiles, thanking their creator for bringing them safely home. One of the returnees, Miss Bridget Akeamo, an indigene of Anambra, said her parents decided to send her to Italy when all hope of securing job after her school proved abortive. Akeama, who said she left Nigeria in August last year, returned with four months pregnancy. She said she was arrested while trying to cross to Italy from Libya by immigration officials. Akeama said: “Ever since then, I have been moved from one prison to another until I was taken to detention camp in Tripoli. “We were subjected to inhuman treatment while in prison, from the food we eat to the water we drink. “Most of the young ladies in detention camp were raped by Libyan officials and if you refused their advances, it will be hell for you. “Thank God I am back in Nigeria, I know all hope is not lost but it is painful that I will begin from scratch again with my unborn child.” Stanley Iduh, 34-year-old indigene of Delta, said that he was tricked by an agent popularly known as “Burger that he would facilitate his journey to Spain through Libya. He said that when his hope of crossing into Spain was dashed in Libya, he decided to stay back and work in the Arab country. “I worked in Tile producing company and their salary was good but unfortunately I cannot save my money in the bank. “I lived with other Nigerians. I dug a hole in the ground to save my money. “Unfortunately, one day, some Libyans came, kidnapped us and inflicted punishment on us. “They asked us to call our relations back in Nigeria and tell them to send N300, 000 as our ransom. “The 200, 000 US dollars that I saved, disappeared; they moved us to another place until we got to detention camp. “Nigerians should be discouraged from travelling to Libya because they are not treating us like human beings. “Our ladies were dehumanised by Libyan officials, it is very painful,” he said. Iduh, who said he sold the house left by his late father before travelling to Libya, urged the federal and state governments as well as wealthy Nigerians to create job for the youths. “It was because I was jobless for three years that I was cajoled to travel abroad to look for greener pasture. “I am back in the country after eight months, devastated and humiliated. “I have gone to look for greener pasture but here I am today; I have brought nothing green back home,” he said with tears running in his cheek. Paul and Marvellous Isikhuemhen are twin brothers who travelled to Libya in March and May 2016 respectively in search for greener pasture. Marvellous said that they regretted travelling out of the country because of the bitter encounter they had in Libya. He said that though they secured good job in publishing house in Libya, “it was suffering and smiling’’ until they were given the opportunity to return home through IOM. Isikhuemhen urged the Nigerian government to stop young ladies from travelling to Libya, saying they were molested by Libyan immigration officials. He said that most Nigerian ladies bribe Nigerian Immigration Officers to secure travel documents to travel to Libya. Isikhuemhen added that most of the children brought back home by these ladies had no fathers. “I can boldly tell you that the children you are seeing in their hands and those pregnant ladies are products of Libya immigration officers,” he said. As usual the Nigerian Army is always so powerful in killing defenseless villages, unarmed protesters and beating up civilians. When it is time to confront boko haram, other militaries, militants, the story will change to 'There was no air support, we don't have enough weapons, blablabla' These goats even abandoned their positions, threw away their riffles and ran into a river where they drowned in droves just to escape from adavancing boko haram fighters. Politics › The Yoruba Initiatives Cautions Against Agitation To Break Nigeria by MasterofNL(op): 4:36pm On Feb 14, 2017 |
The Yoruba Initiatives (TYI), a Socio-Cultural and Non-Political group in the South-West has cautioned against the growing agitation to break-up Nigeria. The group said this in a statement issued by its Spokesman; Mr Fola Olamiti on Monday in Abuja. Olamiti stated that the decision was reached at the end of the second meeting of the group held in Ibadan.
The group pledged to join other well-meaning groups in the country to canvass for and ensure that Nigeria was restructured. It also called on the Federal Government to consider a timely restructuring of the country as an immediate solution to the increased agitations. “Restructuring will end the multifaceted problems of Nigeria including corruption, inter-ethnic issues, stifled growth of the federation, widespread security challenges and general suspicion.
“The idea to restructure Nigeria has been thoroughly debated and agreed to during the last National Conference by all the geo political zones of the country. “This is the reason why the government should stop dismissing the idea with a wave of hand.’’ The group said the secessionists in some geo-political zones of the country were gaining attention owing to widespread disenchantment with the state of the economy. The group said it was disposed to networking with the State Houses of Assembly, National Assembly and other stakeholders to drive the restructuring agenda of the economy.
It said the communiqué issued at the end of the meeting had rejected secession and advocated for the full restructuring of the country. The communiqué said all the geo-political zones supported restructuring in the last National Conference and pledged to join other groups in the South-West to work out appropriate mechanism for the restructuring. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/02/south-west-group-cautions-agitation-break-nigeria/ |

kelvinovie: Donald Trump Didn’t Talk To Buhari- Stephen Bannon Insists THE PLAINTRUTH A Chief White House strategist, Stephen K. Bannon has insisted that President Donald Trump did not speak with President Muhammadu Buhari as reported in Nigerian Media Stations. Earlier when President Buhari’ s Personal Assistant on New Media, Ahmad Bashir twitted that his boss had scheduled to speak with Trump at 3:45p.m from London residence, THE PLAINTRUTH immediately put a call through to confirm but Bannon debunked the insinuation, saying there was nothing of such. Bannon Said,”I don’t know…I don’t know. President Trump has not told me, thank you.” Nigerian Media outlets had widely published that President Trump spoke with Mr. Buhari, quoting the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina. Adesina, in a statement released to journalists in Abuja, said “The conversation was cordial and President Buhari congratulated Trump on his election as President of the United States, and on his cabinet. The two leaders discussed ways to improve cooperation in the fight against terrorism through provision of necessary equipment. “President Trump encouraged President Buhari to keep up the good work he is doing, and also commended him for the efforts made in rescuing 24 of the Chibok Girls and the strides being taken by the Nigerian military,.” As of press time, THE PLAINTRUTH can authoritatively report that President Trump has not spoken to President Buhari. Politics › Invite Goodluck Jonathan For Questioning, Northern Clerics Tell Security Agencie by MasterofNL(op): 10:50am On Feb 07, 2017 |
- Some Northern clerics have condemned comments made by the former president Goodluck Jonathan on the crisis in the regions
- The clerics said the statement made by Jonathan last week in a meeting with the United State congress on the religious crisis in the Northern part of the country is reckless and unpatriotic
- They also called on security agencies to invite the former president for questioning
Some Northern clerics have condemned comments made by the former president Goodluck Jonathan on the crisis in the regions.
The clerics said the statement made by Jonathan last week in a meeting with the United State congress on the religious crisis in the Northern part of the country is reckless and unpatriotic.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Monday, February 6, the national chairman of the Middle Belt Patriotic Front Musa Fomson urged security agencies to invite the former president for questioning.
Fomson said an invitation and interrogation of Jonathan will enable security agencies unravel his intentions about Nigeria.
“It was the mindlessness of his administration that amplified the schism to a point where persons that were once neutral learnt to hate adherents of other faiths. It was Goodluck Jonathan that made religion and ethnicity into campaign issues in order to cover the incompetence of his rule in the quest for re-election,” Fomson said.
The cleric added that the former president used his comment to sow seed of discord.
Fomson said: “Ill advised romance with the then President of the Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, who even ran errand as weapons buyer, was instrumental to reducing Christendom into the current level where whatever CAN has to say is being second guessed."
He said Jonathan failed to tell his US audience that killers herdsmen would not be on rampage and occupy the position of the fourth deadliest group in the world if he and his aides had not stolen the money meant for buying weapons to defeat Boko Haram.
"Several of his aides, like Ankio-Briggs have stopped short of endorsing the war these militants are waging against the Nigerian state. His speech before the US House Committee stopped short of doing same by anchoring the attacks on oil export infrastructure on resource control,” Fomson said.
"If the former president thinks we have forgotten his foot soldiers and multiple persons from the Niger Delta threaten to make the country ungovernable should he lose the 2015 election, which he glaringly lost because of his serial failures and rejection by Nigerians,” he said.
He further blamed the former president for the hardship faced by many Nigerians in the country.
“If Goolduck Jonathan truly loves Nigeria, he must immediately stop all his subversive activities like the speech he made before the US House Committee in which he usurped the role of a sitting government by negotiating a US intervention.
"He must speak with all his cronies to return all monies stolen from Nigeria, whether it was the one meant for arms purchase, stolen from crude oil sales or foreign loans that were channeled into their personal pockets.
"He must ask his militants in the Niger Delta and their proxies operating as separatists in the south-east to immediately cease hostilities against the Nigerian state. His coded call for them to scale up attacks is well noted when he said
"Also, the military crackdown in the Niger Delta will not end the agitation there. It will have the opposite effect of provoking the youths which will cause them to seek to acquire sophisticated weapons to defend themselves and their communities.
This may in turn lead to secessionist movements and the reincarnation of the Isaac Jasper Adaka Boro led revolution and the Biafran civil war." https://www.naij.com/1086811-invite-goodluck-jonathan-questioning-northern-clerics-security-agencies.html

Politics › Just Before We Turn This Into Christian Vs. Muslim by MasterofNL(op): 12:57pm On Jan 26, 2017 |
I want to make one thing very clear before we all get it wrong.
The major problem we have in Nigeria today is not Muslims but the Hausa/Fulani especially the Fulani. Before we make this a Christian vs. Muslim issue let us remember that we have Yorubas that are Muslims. I have related with them for years and I can tell you that they are much different from the jihadists we have in the core north.
Their reasoning is better and their behaviour is better too. The Yoruba Muslim will not start killing Christians because of a cartoon done in Europe or anywhere else. When a cartoon was done in Denmark years ago, the Hausa/Fulani Muslims rose up to attack Christians in the core north. They slaughtered Christians and vandalised their properties but nothing of such happened in the South.
The Fulani herdsmen issue is one which is about to set this country on fire. They have been going about annexing lands of Christians for grazing cattle, raping women, killing people in droves, sacking communities and occupying their land especially in the MB & South.
These same Hausa/Fulani are the ones that will have children that they have no plans to cater for. One man will marry four wives and have like twenty children. Ask him how he will take care of them he will tell you that Allah will take care of them.
It is these children that grow up without any parental upbringing that make up a ready pool of recruits called almajiris for boko haram and other terrorist bodies. These ones also lie around ‘mai shais’ lazily waiting for the drop of a pin to start a riot so that they can plunder Christians.
The major challenge we have in Nigeria today is the Fulani and the sooner we answer the Fulani question, the better for everyone. |
Politics › Re: It Is Unrealistic For President Buhari To Think Of A Second Term by MasterofNL: 6:12pm On Jan 24, 2017 |
Orikinla1: I have been receiving reports of the unrealistic expectations of a second term for President Muhammadu Buhari.
The only reason majority of Nigerians voted for him was to guaranty national security. But I cannot even give him a C on national security, because as the Commander-in- Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces, he has not impressed me and many Nigerians. He does not seem to have command of the Nigerian Armed Forces, because terrible things have been done without his command and he was left embarrassed.
The failure of military intelligence is still the Achilles' heel of the Nigerian military that has delayed the defeat of Boko Haram. Boko Haram seems to have superior military intelligence, because their spies have infiltrated the Nigerian Army and recruited saboteurs who have caused the unfortunate deaths of several army officers that were killed after being ambushed by the insurgents. The suicide bombers have been able to bomb motor parks, markets and mosques, because of failure of military intelligence and absence of 24/7 military surveillance systems. All these primary sitting duck targets should have 24/7 bomb detectors at all gates and also aerial surveillance drones that can detect explosives.
The war on corruption is lopsided, because there are political untouchables who seem to be above the law. And only scape goats have been indicted and detained. There is more political propaganda than pragmatism in the war against corruption.
If President Buhari cannot defeat Boko Haram and eradicate political corruption in the corridors of power in a single term of four years, then he has failed and should be reasonable enough not to even think of campaigning for a second term. Only idiots and political opportunists will support and vote for him. Where is omenka/progressive01? I am sure he is the only one that will campaign and vote for his beloved lord and master sai baba. |

Politics › Nigeria Might Be Living On Borrowed Time! by MasterofNL(op): 9:16pm On Oct 16, 2016 |
There is a popular saying that the toad does not run in the day time unless something is pursuing it.
If you observe the zeal and desperation with which Buhari is searching for crude oil in the north, any discerning mind can see that something is going on. I am beginning to think that Buhari has received classified information that Nigeria is almost at the end of her lifespan hence the desperation.
To show how desperate Buhari is, he has ensured that the NNPC is firmly in the hands of the north and only them know how much of Niger Delta oil money they have been using to search for this crude oil. I am even beginning to think that the recovered stolen monies is being channeled to searching for oil in the north.
Buhari knows something we don't know that is why he is moving heaven and earth to ensure large quantities of crude oil is found in the north.
Nigeria might be living on borrowed time.
