I understand its hard for people to believe that humans can gift people things without expecting anything in return. Going by this and even assuming we got N6.28 trillion every quarter, we would still be short of the 2024 appropriation. My guess is that we did not even make N6.28 trillion in Q1, so we are definitely behind. The only silver lining is that we are earning close to the appropriation, so we may not need to borrow from CBN like we have done in the past via Ways and Means. I stand corrected.

A Bolt Driver, Stephen Abuwatseya has finally apologised to House of Representatives member representing ABA North/South of Abia State in the National Assembly, Hon. Alex Ikwechegh for insulting him when he went to deliver a package to him.

In a video personally released to the press, Mr Abuwatseya begged Nigerians to forgive him and equally move forward.

According to him, "Good day, Nigerians. My name is Stephen Abuwatseya. I had a misunderstanding with Rt. Hon. Alex Mascot Ikwechegh a few days ago. I actually want to apologize to him for whatever I must have said or done to provoke him to that level of anger. I want to tell Nigerians that it’s not time for us to start dividing ourselves based on religion, tribes, or regions. We should actually come together, see how we can unite this nation and move it forward."

Abuwatseya continued, calling for unity and forgiveness. “Please, Nigerians, let’s forgive and forget, as it’s even contained in our Lord’s Prayer, that ‘Lord, please forgive us, as we forgive those who trespass against us.' For there is no justice without forgiveness. Thank you very much."

In his heartfelt message, the driver also took time to thank his family and well-wishers for their support. "I want to use this medium to thank my family members, my parents, my brothers, my uncles, and everybody that stood by me. I want to appreciate all of you. I love you all. Thank you. God bless Nigeria."

This apology comes just days after Ikwechegh himself issued a public statement, acknowledging his actions and expressing regret over his behavior during the altercation. In a message posted on his Instagram account, the lawmaker apologized to the Uber driver, the Nigerian Police Force, and the National Assembly, asserting that his actions fell short of the standards expected from a public officeholder regardless of how intense the Provocation must have been.

Ikwechegh explained that he had engaged in alternative dispute resolution with Abuwatseya, which led to a "mutual and respectful agreement" between the two parties.

Anyways...if a family is making N80k each, N160k and they have 1 or 2 children, they can survive in Nigeria. That's N1.92m. Rent should be no more than N500k, 25% of the budget so a room and parlor will suffice or 1 bedroom apartment. Schools should be public with N30k for private lessons for both kids all year...say another N400k. Food can be about N40k - N50k a month which means one must plant to supplement and then some savings. Ideally they shouldn't have kids if they are just starting off with minimum wages. You can marry, work hard for 4-5yrs then raise both incomes before 1 child and then 2 children on or before 35...so marriage at 30. This is how the West does it and manage. Some couples live in one room. Naija we just overdo our life, and love Aso Ebi.

Summary.
