South-South ADC declared for Amaechi, South East will Pick Peter Obi, North East will pick Atiku, North-West will pick Amaechi, North Central will pick Peter Obi...and South West may be Amaechi...By the Numbers, Atiku and Amaechi will be close...Atiku has the money and will likely emerge. Peter Obi by the numbers will come 3rd. If Amaechi drops out, Peter Obi will split NW with Atiku, take South South and it will be a close call...Atiku may still win and drop out for Peter Obi.

In the US, you use Event centers for Rallly or liase with Restaurants to do meet and greet for small positions. Its a win win cos people buy meals from the restaurants. They also campaign on road sides but you cant block traffic o...The only time they go all out is for Parades and other commercial activities ...Check out Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, NBA or NFL Championship Parade, Puerto Rican Day Parade.

A Nigerian lady living in Japan shares how politicians campaign over there and honestly, it’s shocking

No loud rallies. No blocked roads. No chaos. Just calm, organized communication with the people.
Now compare that to what we’re used to in Nigeria 🇳🇬…

The difference is clear—but the real question is:
Can Nigeria ever get to this level?
Watch till the end and tell me what you think
Would you prefer Japan’s style or Nigeria’s current system?

Colonialism still exists...Countries like US determine how big other countries will be. So when we wonder why Nigeria is not like Dubai...there are external factors. Funds stolen here make it into UK and US Banks. If you and I transfer 100,000 dollars or pounds, accounts will be flagged, but our politicians transfer billions to these same countries. Open your eyes...Be wise.

US Citizens were already getting tired of Israel. Trump barely won a war vote in the House by a vote of 214-213 and the Republicans told him he would lose the next one by the 60 day mark. No wonder Netanyahu had to declare ceasefire. If he did not, and US withdraws support. Even Trump had to agree to the opening of the Strait of Homuz. What a failure and....Israel is cooked. Cry me a river...even US cannot defeat all of Iran's proxy. Time is on the site of countries that do not have to ship soldiers thousands of miles away. This is why the Roman Empire fell.

Brought back Memories of Wesley vs AirForce Comprehensive competition finals...organized by a private educational center.

They came with AC luxury bus, dressed up in suit and ties...we came with public transport paid by us..

Chemistry- Tied
Physics - we led by one question
Biology- they won by one question
Math - Tied...then they missed one question and we won the bonus. We had one question left...if we miss it and they get the bonus...it goes to sudden death. We picked a question..and ESC campus said one wuruwuru thing...and they gave us the hardest question as last one. What is Tan 15 degrees...you have 30 - 60 seconds. For this question, you will first get a quadratic expression then solve to get sqrt 2 - 1.

Amazingly, I had practiced this question in Further Math. I almost jumped out of my chair. That is how we won o. Full British A Level Course and N5000 split into 2. This was 27yrs ago.

It was already partly developed during the colonial times
Just like Ibadan was the largest city in Africa during the colonial times.
It is only an illiterate that looks at a city with storey buildings and roof that are hundred years old and then insult the city instead of appreciating the early civilization.

In the city of London, Paris, Istanbul, Rome, Madrid and other major cities around the globe we have these old buildings, hundreds of years old.

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested 50 suspects linked to terrorism, kidnapping, and armed robbery, and recovered a cache of high-grade weaponry including an anti-aircraft launcher, in a series of coordinated operations conducted since the start of the year, officials said Sunday.

At a briefing at the Force Intelligence Department–Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT) headquarters in Abuja, police authorities described the crackdown as a strategic offensive against criminal syndicates that have long threatened public safety across the country.

Among the items seized from dismantled cells are 17 rifles of various models, one anti-aircraft launcher, 111 rounds of live ammunition, 17 live cartridges, five walkie-talkie devices, nine magazines, three mobile phones, and a Golf vehicle, according to a statement from the force’s public relations office.

The most significant operation dismantled a 33-member gang allegedly responsible for acts of terrorism, cattle rustling, and a violent attack on the Christ Apostolic Church in Kwara State, police said.

Authorities also reported progress in securing justice for three police officers killed in Taraba State. The kingpins behind the murder of the officers, who were attached to the Donga Divisional Headquarters in Donga Local Government Area, have been apprehended.

In the Federal Capital Territory and surrounding states, police said specialized units engaged in “one-chance” abductions, car burglaries, and the operation of fake police checkpoints have been arrested. Stolen property and operational assets used to terrorize citizens have also been recovered.

In a separate operation in Benue State, acting on intelligence, operatives arrested 25-year-old Nasiru Ibrahim in the Igumale area. He was found in possession of an AK-47 rifle, a magazine, and eight rounds of live ammunition. Preliminary investigations linked him to a notorious bandit identified only as Janari, who allegedly sold him the weapon. Efforts are underway to apprehend Janari and other members of the syndicate, police said.

Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu reaffirmed the force’s commitment to national security, describing the achievements as testament to the relentless pursuit of justice by the Nigeria Police.

Several main suspects are ready for prosecution in courts of competent jurisdiction, Disu said, adding that the force continues to pursue other accomplices and recover more illegal weapons.

“The Nigeria Police Force remains steadfast in its mission to uphold the rule of law and protect the rights of every citizen, utilizing both human and technical intelligence to stay ahead of criminal elements,” the force’s public relations officer, DCP Anthony Okon Placid, said in a statement issued Monday.

April 15th is TAX DAY in the USA. If they born you, do not file your taxes. You cannot want a GREAT country without proper taxation and fees. Car Registration in my state is every year or every two years..the prices have gone up. Insurance is a MUST - Car, House, Health...you even get fined in your taxes if you do not have medical insurance. You cannot be getting something from nothing. As the revenue increases, Govt can keep raising wages so our economy can grow. States and LGAs are collecting money...FG is doing its part.

I am not worried about the Loans we borrow. We have so many people that are not paying taxes that will be captured now. Let the funds stay in Nigeria. We would rather spend the funds to buy houses abroad, send children abroad and go on vacations abroad by not paying taxes. That is why you have your celebrities buying new cars every year. Time to redistribute the wealth...and with this new building with improved internet connectivity, we can eliminate human influence and corruption.

Here, you can doctor your taxes, but once you are caught...you are in trouble. People go to jail for taxes...lots of our people are on tax payment plans. Govt will add fines, interest rates on taxes you owe. That is the life in the WEST. Welcome to the normal world.

Poverty is SAD. It leads to desperation. A CAT...Na wa o

omikel:
Good day Nairalander,
I will be brief with my story of how I conquered one of the cats that have been terrorizing us for years in our compound. If you like, call it ANIMAL CRUELTY, but if you read to the end, you will know what I have endured for long.
On this beautiful but hot evening, I wanted to go have my shower at the tap outside with the hope to cool my body temperature.
I felt something moved fast towards one edge of the boys quarter, my instinct doesn't deceive me, IT IS ONE OF THOSE UNCULTURED CAT that used to make irritating noise while mating behind our fence. I wouldn't know if they usually come from different places to have their usual DO THE DO at our backyard. I took no offence for them doing that because nature can not be cheated. But the problem is the noise at the wee hour of the night when one is supposed to be deep in sleep.
They will make different kind of Moaning like human and at times cry like a toddler whose biscuit was snatched by his elderly one, I don't know if anyone has had the kind of experience I am trying to narrate here.
But one of them ran into the hands of an angry man who the current situation on ground has made more angrier, like the yoruba will say "Ajá tó yó, kìí bá aiyo seré"
Na so I retreived back to my room to pick up my self defense tool any day (a matchet).
I tip-toed back and lay still in the dark with my touch light on the left hand and my thumb on its switch.
Cats are very sensitive and can see in the dark like tomorrow no dey, but na luck help me kill am this day "Oluwa lo funmi pa* 😁😁😁
Immediately I felt some movement again, my thumb was the first action taker on the switch of my Torchlight, gboa! Light everywhere, the cat's eye self is another version of Torchlight on me. But I summoned courage, it is either you die today or you escape and never come back to this vicinity.
We entered battle, I pursued the 'were' to one end where where it believe is an hiding place but there is no escape route except through where I was standing with my Torchlight beaming at it and it was gazing at me also. Who will make the first move?
I tricked it into believing I am tired, within a twinkle of an eye, I blinked the light by tapping the switch pim pim the mad cat want to run out of its enclave na so I matchetted it like a criminal who is about to steal phone through the window.
But to be sincere, the thing get power, with that one hit, I thought it will be dead, rather it make one hunch back style of defense, and began to make some buzz sound with its mouth and all its claws were sharply released out, na so I woos am the second time before it succumb to weakness and finally third hit made it surrender to alumuntu.

Lol this Erdogan thinks Israel is northern Cyprus or Greece. Maybe in his head, he thinks he can start trouble like when he shot at Russia and ran like a cry baby to NATO and US for help.

A country that fought Iran and didn't lose a single war plane, whereas it's American allies - the strongest military on earth lost some. That tells you, you are about to pick on the most combat tested experienced airforce in the world.

BTW, iran is mar more a stronger enemy to Israel because it has asymmetric capabilities like Hamas, Hezbollah and a chokehold on strait of hormuz. Turkey has nothing to blackmail Israel with.

Just remember the following.

1. NATO will not save you.
2. Ankara will not have a airforce and it's navy will be half gone when this misadventure of attacking Israel is over with.

That nonsense has started in the USA with Oba of New Jersey and Oba of Minnesota...but the Obas have warned them, and some of these guys have been banned from Oju Ode. As a matter of Fact, i think they change their names officially to Oba Kunle .....so it remains part of their names and give stupid titles to other people too. This madness must be dealt with by the FG.

dododawa1:
The Federal Government has described the coronation and activities of Eze Ndigbo “Igbo Kings” in foreign countries as embarrassing.

Amb. Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday, against the backdrop of the Imeobi meeting, the highest decision-making body of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide in Enugu.

The minister in the statement issued by Dr Magnus Eze, Special Assistant on Communication and New Media, Office of the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, described the situation as an embarrassment.

According to her, it has become a big embarrassment to the government, Ndigbo, Nigerians and other foreigners in those countries, where they have Eze Ndigbo.

“This is as the National Executive Committee of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide in collaboration with the South East Council of Traditional Rulers abolished the concept of Eze Igbo outside Igboland”.

She narrated that Igbo associations in diaspora usually stage cultural activities to promote their heritage, but unfortunately, the enthronement of traditional rulership by some of these Igbo groups has severely caused friction.

This, according to her, is not just among the Igbo communities themselves, but also between the Igbo and their host communities.

The minister stated that people could still express themselves culturally without causing nuisance to the indigenous people of the host country and others.

She recounted that recently, violent protests erupted in South Africa’s Eastern Cape, following the controversial coronation of a Nigerian Igbo leader, Solomon Eziko, as “Eze Ndigbo na East London” Igbo King in East London.African economy outlook

Also the event sparked an outcry from local residents, traditional leaders, and political parties, leading to violence, the torching of foreign-owned vehicles, and looting.

“On March 14, 2026, Eziko was crowned as a traditional leader in KuGompo City, East London, a move interpreted by South Africans as an unlawful challenge to local sovereignty and traditional leadership structures.

“Protests began on March 30, with demonstrations organised by groups including ActionSA, which quickly escalated into violence. The protesters targeted foreign-owned businesses and vehicles, with reports of no fewer than 13 vehicles being destroyed.

“At least one stabbing incident was reported, and police had to use stun grenades and tear gas to restore order.

“The Eastern Cape House of Traditional and Khoi-San Leaders condemned the coronation as flagrant violation of customary protocols.

Also, the South African government’s Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs declared the installation illegal and in violation of the constitution,” she said.

She revealed that the ministry deployed diplomatic channels in tackling the situation, adding that the Nigerian High Commission in South Africa distanced itself from the coronation, acknowledging it was a cultural event misinterpreted and not formal, recognised monarchy.African economy outlook

She also said the Nigerian Embassy in Pretoria officially apologised for the confusion and crisis, urging Nigerians in South Africa to maintain a low profile and avoid further confrontations.

The minister said the Deputy High Commissioner, Olajide Ogunmadeji, had addressed some protesters saying the situation was misinterpreted, as the coronation was only ceremonial, rather than the installation of traditional authority that defied the existing system.

She recalled a similar incident that occurred in Ghana in July, 2025 because of the Eze Ndigbo issue, while addressing the Ohanaeze Imeobi/General Assembly.

She disclosed leading delegation to Accra to douse the tension, as Ghanaian protesters demanded Nigerians must leave, saying aggrieved Ghanaians issued compatriots quit notice, insisting Nigerians must go.

The minister urged Ohanaeze Ndigbo to prescribe sanctions for any persons flouting its directive abolishing Igbo traditional rulership outside Igboland.

She quoted the President_General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Sen. Azuta Mbata, to have presented the decision of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, saying they have adopted the position of the traditional rulers abolishing the Eze Ndigbo title in diaspora.

“Anybody who is being awarded that type of title anywhere outside of Igbo land is on his own.

It is unknown to the Igbo people and we will call upon all state governors, we will correspond to all embassies in the world informing them about the position of Ndigbo.

“The position of Eze Ndigbo anywhere outside Igbo land is hereby alienated and proscribed. That is the position of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide.

“We will determine in consultation with the kings of Igbo land what the punishment will be for anybody who goes against this position and that punishment will be implemented at the village level.

Your hometown, your town union will be under injunction to implement that punishment but we are going to declare that punishment after due consultation.”

She further assured that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would help disseminate the Ohanaeze communique on the issue through its Missions and High Commissions. (NAN)
