If you can actually marry someone that is willing to live in the same one room, you can build enough savings to do the needful. Just imagine if she is making N85k too and you keep expenses the same other than transportation and feeding for her, you both can save N50k from both salaries and that will be N600k a year.

In 3 yrs, you both can save close to N2m...of course you will delay having kids with her. Then with the money, you create 1 revenue stream or do that after 2 years of savings. Then you can make enough to contemplate getting a bigger apartment to rent. The problem is...most people want to rent a bigger place and be house poor.

You can do the right thing at the wrong time or do the wrong thing at the wrong time. Either way, these would be bad moves. Do not be defined by your situation. If you have no plan to marry, then look for ways to further reduce your expenses or increase your earnings legitimately.

So reality is dawning on me for the tasks ahead.

Presently 33 with N85k/month salary job

During my days in school, I had thought life will be far better after school but here I am earning 85k/month and that is money that cannot even meet my immediate needs and not to talk of wants and unto other responsibilities.

By age, I'm supposed to have been married but still living in one room which is not advisable to even think of marriage in this condition.

To arrange myself for marriage, I need at least a one bedroom, furnished and comfortable. The yearly rent for that is about 400-450k

Then I am also worried about renewing the rent every year, year and year.

How about catering for the family? Aside rent, feeding, school fees (once married, you begin to reproduce), medical, clothing and so so and so forth.

To live a good life, you need a car for mobility sake as a family.

I can't continue to pay rent. Meaning I need to build a house.

Obviously, the 85k salary is not enough. I need to start a business.

And so many other issues giving me stress and sleepless night.

So my worry is, where would i get the money to do all these with these kind of job i am doing? For years i may not even raise a million naira.

I have seen situations where people no longer able to change clothes just because they now have a family and I'm trying to avoid that by all means.

I'm really really afraid of the future.

I feel there shouldn't be any future.

The person lamented the high cost from island to main land. The response in based on the posting. Lagos has a functioning BRT. NLC can push for and get into an agreement with Lagos State to increase the number and frequency of BRT buses. Unions negotiate for the welfare of its members not just salaries. We have Unions in the USA and they even offer dental and optical services. We only use medical negotiated by the Unions with the Employers.

Our own Unions in Nigeria only know how to ground the economy. We often go 3-5 yrs without contracts. Las Las, they will enter arbitration and agree to something...then backpay. We need Unions that can think outside of the box. Get into Transport systems and provide cheap transportation to members while still earning revenues for the Union.

NLC should focus on buying lands in surplus and selling to members to be paid for monthly. Same with vehicles...they are busy fighting instead of thinking. Why can't NLC build houses? Invest in stocks and increase portfolio so you can give more lower than bank interests to members?

You want to fight Federal, fight State, ground the economy, force private companies to keep paying more when we know prices will be passed on to customers. Never Ending Story...makes you wonder how they picked their leadership. This can't be the best Nigeria has to offer in terms of meritocracy.

“Last night, we had over 300 officers out here, and because of the intentional mindset of this perpetrator who went around our barricades in order to conduct this," the mayor said.

The FBI has taken over the investigation. Alethea Duncan, assistant special agent in charge of the FBI's New Orleans office, said later in the press conference that the incident is not being considered a terrorist attack.

“This is not a terrorist event,” Duncan said, adding that “an improvised explosive device was found” and the FBI is working to determine whether “it’s a viable device or not.”

I will only visit my country once in a year, am not married and am 33, n pressure of marriage dey my neck.

This is an awesome move.

Let me break it down for those without the wisdom to process this.

You are Person A, you buy stuff from Person B. (A = Nigerians and B = China)
You first must go to Person C to buy dollars which may not be at a good rate, then use the dollars to buy from Person B and if Person B wants to buy from Person A, Person B would also go to Person C to buy dollars first.

Now, both Persons A and C realize...why do we need Person C when we can just trade by barter. In the Past, cloth seller would exchange clothes for food, and fishermen would exchange fishes for beads without having to sell them first for cowries in other villages just to take the funds elsewhere to buy what they need.

Nigerians can buy from China using Naira, China holds the Naira and Chinese can also buy our produce in Yuans, Nigeria will keep the Chinese currencies...then they both swap them again. We both need each other...and need US dollars less. We need to do this with more countries...China is significant because we buy so much ...wigs, nails, technologies and so on.

I told someone who told me the war would be fast and quick...I told him I did a paper of Putin for my PhD leadership class, and that he doesn't know Putin. If you have not read his autobiography, please do or look for its summary. Do not believe the Western stories...Putin is not losing to Ukraine. He would rather die. He blamed the USSR Leaders for losing the Soviet Union territories. Russia Federation went through hunger and deprivation. Putin grew up knowing what suffering is.

The only other problem that Putin may have is with the Russia Orthodox Church opposing this War. He sort and got their endorsement to fight in this war. Look up the Russian Orthodox Church...did you notice the Pope never condemned Russia? I just feel so sad for Ukrainians because they allowed the clown President to push them further into this war. The West economies cannot sustain this war. UK is in trouble...Do not be surprised if there is a Recession in 1yr. Russia with the financial muscle of China, and human power of NK can keep on fighting. All Russia needs to do is continue to pump oil and deny gas to Europe. When the West is weakened, China will take Taiwan lol, and NK may just take South Korea.
