What makes you think that those lands belong to those who claim to have them? You can see in Lagos how many people built on illegal lands...some for decades. You think people have the right papers to all these lands? If those lands truly belong to the farmers, let them go to court. My guess is they try to settle these issues because no one truly can lay claims to these lands. One of my inlaws died and the children didn't attend to his properties for years...fast-forward...people already jumped the fence planting cassava and utilizing his massive land inside his compound. The daughter was so upset he cleared it all...Nigerians generally feel entitled. The herders are not saints, but the farmers may not be either.

The more I read this news, the more I feel somehow. This is my submission

1. People have been farming on lands that belong to no one for years and feel entitled to it
2. You now have nomadic farmers who have been told that those lands are common territories that belong to no one, and they have chosen to graze on the same lands.
3. The farmers think of the cattle herders as bandits and have no desire to share lands that belong to no one...even killing their cattle
4. The herders also feel entitled to the lands and follow the proverb...a child that won't allow the mother to sleep won't get sleep either.
5. Both sides call on the government to attack one side for the other.
6. The Govt is at an impasse because both sides do not own the land, and trying to share the land makes the govt look like its on the side of the herders.

Should the lands be left to the farmers even though they don't own them? If Govt needs to set up ranches, they also need some of these lands. Those in the SW or SE don't want ranches as well. Northern farmers don't want ranches...if the govt belongs to all people, shouldn't the govt protect the rights of all people, including the herders' right to lands and waters? It's just food for thought.

We need lasting solutions.

Some of these girls play abroad...its great to see everyone trying to outdo one another...for the first time, athletes are proud to wear the Nigeria Flag. Even those that have not switched to playing for Nigeria are thinking about it...Boxing, MMA, Long Jump, Hurdles..we are making strides. Our movies and entertainment industries are the biggest entry to the scene...it will only get better with more investment from NetFlix and other streaming networks. Nigeria is on the up and up...I see us being a massive nation in terms of places to visit in another decade.

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has expressed sadness over the death of the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.
According to Obi, the death of the elder statesman has left him heartbroken.

Naija News recalls the death was confirmed in a statement on Thursday by Jide Iwuanyanwu, the son of the late Chief Emmanuel. According to the statement, the 82-year-old Iwuanyanwu died on Thursday after a brief illness.

Reacting to the development in a statement on Thursday evening, Obi recalled that he recently visited the late Iwuanyanwu in the hospital and the elder statesman promised him he would soon be alright.

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has reiterated the potency of the ongoing Ekwulobia Flyover to open up new vistas of opportunities for the state, upon completion.

The Governor stated this on his social media handle while reacting to and sharing photos showing the status and progress of works on the flyover.

The Governor, who attested that the flyover is seriously ‘taking a shape’, also expressed enthusiasm to drive through it.

He further reassured of his administration's commitment to creating a livable and prosperous homeland, which, he said, must begin with putting the right infrastructure in place.

He wrote: “One beam at a time, the Ekwulobia flyover bridge is taking shape.

“I look forward to driving through this key infrastructure that promises to open up new vistas of opportunities for our homeland.

“We are committed to creating a livable and prosperous homeland, and this must begin with putting the right infrastructure in place.

“May Anambra continue to win!”

Reports have it that Governor Soludo made a promise to embark upon an expansive but phased modernization and urban renewal of major urban areas in the state, starting with Awka, Onitsha, Nnewi, and Ekwulobia urban areas.

In a move to accomplishing these the Governor, who pledged to turn Ekwulobia into a model city, in 2023, flagged off the construction of a flyover, a modern bus terminal, adjoining roads, security building, a fire station, among others, in the area. The project is being handled by the AG Vision Construction Limited, and the flyover, which is about 300 meters long and 5.4 meters tall, has a delivery time of 18 months.

Many Anambra indigenes have envisaged that the construction of the flyover, modern bus terminal, and other facilities in Ekwulobia will bring about ease of movement from Anambra into Imo State through the Uga-Akokwa corridor; as well as significantly reduce travel time and enhance connectivity between the two states.

It is further believed by many, that, the flyover, upon completion, will not only enhance the aesthetic value of the city but also improve the socio-economic wellbeing of the residents and further open up the area.

I doubt the German guy will come to Nigeria. You are right, he may never finish that house which tells me this story looks like a spiritual attack. We don't focus on spiritual things, but my guess is, a spirit is involved and that spirit is very angry.

On the other hand, it all depends on what the family wants to do. They might not even report he is around and I doubt we have a system in place to determine those wanted at points of entry. I notice most people see life as a coincidence until I start showing them things are tied to family and some things are not entirely normal. One advice I can give anyone looking into housing in any state. Buy a very old house with proper documents, use those documents to get newer documents. Then renovate or raze to the ground. It is so hard these days to know if any vacant land is even surveyed right not to talk of having proper documents. I've done the above and also made sure I have the right C of O for a new vacant land I bought 15yrs ago...I wont buy a new land now ....anywhere. Even buying inside an Estate is not safe...even the lawyers that will guarantee your purchase are all in on the fraud. Good luck.

The students are just like the masses. Govt created student loan for a reason, but I am sure 90% of the protesters did not even create an account. As a student, get a side hustle and buy solar lamp. I am seeking advice on relocating to either Germany or Canada at the beginning of next year. I currently work remotely as the sole UI/UX designer for a tech company in Nigeria. I am married and in my late 20s. The idea of relocating has been on my mind for a few months now, and I have seriously been considering leaving the country. I hold a degree in Electrical Engineering.

A friend suggested that I could move through a study program, but I am not sure if I can focus on academics at the moment. I am keen to hear how others have successfully and legitimately relocated. My wife is insistent that I shouldn’t leave the country without her, so I am planning for both of us to move together.
