Abuja is working on it but not all saner climates have great public transport system. I have been to some parts of US where people still use Uber to get to the train, and the bus systems are limited. Same with Toronto, USA and so on...if the system was so good, people wont get cars given the cost implications involved. We carpool, we manage petrol and where we go in saner climates...and these saner climates have existed for over 200yrs by the way. Let us be guided.

Abuja does not have a proper public transport system within the metropolis, which ordinarily should connect residents and workers to Suleja, Mararaba, parts of Nasarrawa, Kogi and Kaduna. That way, living costs are better managed, and people live dignified lives.

Private car culture in a poor country like ours, without a solid credit finance system, does not augur well.

Looking at the building before collapse, it looks OK. Does not show any sign of distress. This is my own take. Lagos Land is shifting and will continue to shift given that Lagos is bounded by an Ocean. Some of these buildings need a steel framework. I believe buildings over 2 floors in Lagos should be mandated to have steel framework. If not, you may see more of these in the near future even for buildings that look good. You saw the newly constructed buildings bending and developing cracks within few years...that is the reality and compacting the sand is not enough. You cannot build something on nothing...sand is not ideal. You need a very deep foundation and steel framework.

Huge Blow For Amaechi As Wike's Loyalists Burn ADC Ward Office

Suspected political thugs on Friday morning set ablaze a ward office of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ubima, the hometown of former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Residents said the incident occurred in the early hours of Friday, just hours before Amaechi was expected to formally register with the party at the ward.

Sources alleged that the attackers were loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. Both Wike and Amechi are former governors of the state.

According to sources in the community, the assailants stormed the ADC ward office in Ubima and set the building on fire, destroying party materials and other items inside the facility.

“Thugs loyal to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike burnt down ADC ward office in Ubima, the home town of Rotimi Amaechi early Friday morning,” a resident said.

We see proof of N2m that they fought over...No proof of N15m...It is hard to trust Nigerians.
