PoliticsRe: Why Egbetokun Resigned As IG - Bayo Onanuga by MasterTeeUSA: 3:23pm On Feb 24
I think he was against state police, and so far he has not been able to get the police force to act better. What these leaders fail to realize is, you cannot sit inside office in Nigeria and make Nigeria great again. You need to dress as civilian and take public transport and visit checkpoints, record your officers, fire and show up at their stations late evenings or early mornings, coordinate with commissioners of police, and get their itineraries every week...making sure your commissioners are actively working and visiting their states' police units.

Nigeria work is HARD work. Without the energy or the desire to do the hardwork, it is failure from the start. I was telling someone yesterday...this is why Real Estate renting is not working for a lot of people...they want to hand it over to others to do the work or not stay engaged. It is just like another business. You put in your sweat and blood or else, tenants will not pay rent, agents will make deals with tenants, lawyers will fleece you if you go to court and you will be at the receiving end. If you need advice on real estate, I am considering starting a whatsapp group. Email me

The case against suspects accused of the murder of e-hailing driver Isaac Satlat has been postponed to March.

This after accused number one, Dikeledi Mphela, was not brought to court from Attridgeville prison in Monday's court proceedings.

According to documents from correctional services, Mphela is only scheduled to appear in court in March.

Despite this, the matter was set down for Monday in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court

The misunderstanding stemmed from a J7 form, which authorises the detention of suspects.

The form is dated the 3rd of March instead of the 23rd of February, resulting in the accused not being transported to court.

Six suspects were arrested in connection with Satlat's murder, who was hijacked and killed in his vehicle.

Meanwhile, the lawyer representing the Satlat family has described the delay as disappointing.

"We are not happy, because this is a highly sensitive matter its a public matter, missing a date of court should not have taken place, there's no reason why they should miss the date."
PoliticsRe: FCT Election: My Experience At Dutse Alhaji Polling Unit, Bwari by MasterTeeUSA: 11:49pm On Feb 21
All those shanties are gone...so you would not see those people voting in Abuja. grin grin grin They have relocated lol...I am sure Abuja politicians probably had them transported over the years to work and vote lol. If people are not coming out to vote, why do we bother? This is an off cycle election. Even my Mayor here wins with less than 1000 votes lol every time, and my community alone has 123 homes ...which is close to 500.

SageTravels:
Today, I voted at my polling unit in Dutse Alhaji under the Bwari Area Council in the FCT Area Council elections, and the experience left me thoughtful.

I arrived a little after 10 a.m., and to my surprise, the environment was unusually calm. It almost felt as though nothing significant was happening. Unlike previous elections where the atmosphere was crowded and energetic, this time the turnout was noticeably low. Out of 133 registered voters in my unit, only 14 people showed up to cast their votes.

Despite the low turnout, the process was completely peaceful. Security personnel were present, but they had virtually nothing to do. There was no tension, no conflict, and no disruption of any kind. It was 100% calm.
I collected both the Chairman and Councillorship ballot papers and voted for the candidates of my choice without any interference.

There was no harassment, no intimidation, and no pressure from anyone. Political party agents conducted themselves responsibly they did not attempt to influence voters, and there was no sign of vote buying. Everyone was allowed to make their choice freely.

One of the highlights for me was the professionalism of the electoral officers (INEC ad hoc staff). They were transparent in everything they did. They openly displayed each step of the process, and after voting concluded, we watched as the results were entered and transmitted online in our presence. It gave a sense of credibility and openness to the exercise.

Interestingly, APGA won the Councillorship election in my polling unit. In a time when many believe everyone has aligned with the ruling party, this result was a reminder that people still have independent minds and will vote for who they truly prefer even without inducement or heavy spending.

From what I witnessed in my unit, it is clear that when elections are allowed to be free and fair, people can regain trust in the electoral process.

My only hope is that the results remain intact through the collation process and are not altered at the collection center.

Overall, it was a quiet election day but a credible one.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iuujPUE5I0

Anna Marie Crocker, a former Wisconsin elementary school aide, was sentenced to 51½ years in prison after pleading guilty to seven felony charges, including first-degree child sexual assault and child sexual exploitation. Prosecutors said she sexually abused four boys between 2023 and 2024, using sleepovers and digital platforms like Snapchat to groom and exploit the victims. The court ruled she will not be eligible for release until she is in her 80s, describing the crimes as a profound breach of trust within the school system.

According to court records and statements from the Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office, 34-year-old Anna Marie Crocker, a former educational assistant at Riverview Elementary in Silver Lake, Wisconsin, was sentenced on February 17 to 51 and a half years in prison after pleading guilty to seven felony charges.

The charges include first-degree sexual assault of a child, second-degree sexual assault of a child, child enticement, and sexual exploitation involving the filming and exchange of explicit material. Prosecutors confirmed that Crocker will not be eligible for release until she is in her 80s.

The sentencing follows a December guilty plea, bringing to a close a case that first surfaced in late 2024 when multiple minors reported inappropriate conduct.

A Pattern of Grooming and Exploitation
According to filings reviewed by ANGLE 360, the case began with allegations that Crocker sexually assaulted a 12-year-old boy during a sleepover at her home in the winter of 2023 to 2024. The victim told investigators he was asleep in a basement when Crocker allegedly woke him, removed his clothing, and assaulted him.

Court documents indicate the child repeatedly attempted to push her away and told her to stop. The filings describe the act as non-consensual, a critical legal factor given the age of the victim.

Months after the alleged assault, prosecutors said Crocker contacted the boy via text message, asking him to apologize for what happened and urging him not to tell anyone. Investigators described the communication as manipulative and an attempt to shift blame onto the child.

Authorities later uncovered allegations involving three additional boys aged between 13 and 16. One 14-year-old reported exchanging explicit messages and images via Snapchat, and alleged he was assaulted in a parking lot in August 2024. Investigators said Crocker admitted to receiving and saving explicit content from that minor, and to forwarding it to another student.

A search of her phone reportedly revealed password-protected files containing sexual videos, along with hundreds of exchanged messages in short time spans.

Institutional Response and Accountability
Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office stated that Crocker’s conduct represented a “profound breach of trust.” District Attorney Xavier Solis emphasized that when individuals connected to schools exploit children, the harm extends beyond the victims to the wider community.

Riverview Elementary, part of the Silver Lake-Salem Joint 1 School District, confirmed that Crocker was initially hired as a substitute in 2020 before becoming a full-time educational assistant in 2021. She was terminated following the filing of charges in October 2024.

While the swift termination signaled administrative action, the timeline raises critical questions. According to investigative details, inappropriate communications and alleged misconduct spanned months before formal charges were filed. Experts in child protection argue that prolonged digital grooming often evades detection unless institutions proactively audit staff communications and enforce strict safeguarding protocols.

The case underscores the vulnerabilities that can exist within educational environments, particularly where staff members are granted informal access to students outside school premises.

Digital Platforms and Child Exploitation Risks
Investigators revealed that much of the alleged misconduct involved Snapchat and text messaging, platforms that have previously drawn scrutiny for ephemeral messaging features that complicate oversight.

Child advocacy groups have repeatedly warned that digital grooming often begins with seemingly casual interactions before escalating into coercion. The fact that over 200 messages were reportedly exchanged in a matter of days suggests an aggressive communication pattern that might have triggered red flags under more robust monitoring frameworks.

For parents and guardians, the case reinforces the importance of digital literacy and open communication about online safety. Resources on child exploitation prevention and reporting can be found through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the U.S. Department of Justice Child Exploitation Section.

Legal Consequences and Broader Implications
During her sentencing hearing, Crocker reportedly apologized and said she accepted responsibility for her actions. However, prosecutors argued that acknowledgment does not erase the psychological trauma inflicted on multiple minors.

According to ANGLE 360 findings, sentencing in child sexual assault cases often reflects both punitive and deterrent objectives. A 51-year term effectively ensures lifelong incarceration, signaling the judiciary’s intent to impose severe consequences for crimes involving abuse of authority and minors.

Beyond individual accountability, the case prompts broader scrutiny of hiring, supervision, and digital conduct policies in schools. How frequently are background checks updated. Are staff interactions with students beyond school hours monitored. Do districts conduct mandatory digital conduct training.

These questions remain central to preventing recurrence.

ANGLE 360 will continue to monitor developments in school safeguarding policies and legal reforms aimed at strengthening child protection frameworks nationwide.

Could be...could be not. Banks react if there are issues...maybe around that Christmas period, there was an uptick in fraud business from Nigeria that you are not aware of so they had to take extra precaution. I always transfer all the funds I will need before traveling and I also let the banks know I will be outside of the country. $30k is a lot of money to move across country...even within the US, they will flag that transaction. I am glad you got it resolved. Next time, ask your bank what you should do before you travel or have backups...someone that can front you money, so you would not need to travel back just to claim your account. Madness everywhere.

Trust me bro, I know about the process more than most people here. I was assistant branch manager at TD Canada trust and worked in three different branches for a span of five years. Prior to this time, I always had access online and had everything setup before leaving. I think this was purely a case of discrimination as I was calling from Nigeria and the fraud officer who blocked my etransfer was not comfortable with me transferring about $30k in three days.

Tough situation...if Naira strengthens, it means you can convert Naira to more USD. Some will just increase their USD account balances, and stop spending. Others will buy more USD and import more...affecting local manufacturers....even though local manufacturers will benefit by buying things cheaper, Nigerians will still buy more foreign goods. As Naira gains, FG must ban more importations and force the purchase of local content. Before you travel, call your western banks and let them know so they would not block your activities in foreign countries. Given your local numbers are usually tied to your accounts and needed to verify codes, you would not be able to do that either.

Best to always use emails and have a dedicated google voice number as backup to verify. With a good VPN service, you can avoid stories that touch. If you want more advice on life decisions, email me.

Nnamdipapa:
So I had the most insane experience last December. Something that still makes my heart race when I remember it.
I was in Nigeria, just jejely making transactions from my foreign accounts, when suddenly all my accounts were blocked on suspicion of fraud. Just like that. No warning.
I called the fraud department at Scotiabank, fully expecting to clear things up in five minutes. After all, I passed every single authentication question. Everything. Then the agent calmly told me I had to appear physically in Canada to verify my account.
I laughed at first. I told him I was in Nigeria. How exactly did he expect me to fly across the Atlantic in the middle of winter just to “verify” myself?
Before I could even process what was happening, my online banking access was shut down completely. These people had already concluded that I should be living in Canada.
That was how my Christmas plans scattered.
I started searching for the cheapest ticket I could find. After hours of looking, I found a United Airlines flight transiting through Dulles Airport in Washington. 11:59pm on Christmas night. About $1,200.
I tried booking with my foreign cards. Nothing went through. My location in Nigeria was now suspicious everywhere. I had to call United directly on the 24th to book manually. Return date: December 30th.
I was pained. Deeply pained.
It would have been my first Christmas in over a decade without snow. No shoveling. No icy wind. Just Lagos vibes. Nigeria sweet, I swear.
But instead, by 7pm Christmas night, I was heading to MMA airport.
We landed at Dulles on the morning of the 26th. As I stood in line for border control, fear gripped me. I was thinking about all the negative things I’ve said about Trump online. I was convinced they would scan my social media and drag me into one interrogation room.
When it got to my turn, the officer asked one simple question and waved me through.
Just like that.

Three-hour layover. Then off to Toronto.
Because of extreme weather warnings in Calgary, I decided not to continue there. We landed at Pearson International Airport in Toronto around 8pm.
I had to wait for missing luggage from the next flight. Retrieved it around 9:30pm.

Then I made the mistake of trying to save money.
I searched online and found a room in Etobicoke for $45 per night. In Canada. In December. Red flag, but my mind was on budgeting.

Outside, it was -12°C. Windy. Dark. Brutally cold.
I took a cab to the address.
The moment we pulled up, my spirit dropped.
The house looked abandoned. The street was dead silent. No movement. No life.
I knocked. A groundsman opened and led me inside.
Then I entered the room.

That was when my night turned into a horror movie.
There was another man on the bed beside mine. Unkempt. Dirty. Lying down, staring into his phone and laughing hysterically. Not small laughter. The kind that makes your spine freeze.

Aye mi!

How was I supposed to sleep in the same room with a complete stranger behaving like that?
The room was dark. Only light from the TV and his phone screen. He didn’t greet me. Didn’t acknowledge me. Just kept laughing and scratching himself aggressively.
Outside, snow was falling heavily. Temperature dropping toward -16°C.
And guess what? I didn’t even come with a winter jacket. This trip was never planned.
I told myself I would endure till morning and check into a proper hotel. I dropped my briefcases, brought out my laptop to finish some client work.
Then I saw something.

The guy started scratching himself violently. Almost desperately. Still laughing.
Kilode?!

As I sat there, uneasy, I suddenly felt movement on my sleeve.
I looked down.
A small brown bug was crawling up my jacket… heading toward my neck.
In that split second, my childhood flashed before my eyes.
Growing up in face-me-I-face-you, I battled bed bugs. I know them too well.
I slapped it instantly. Crushed it. Rubbed it between my fingers.
Then I lifted my hand to my nose.
ALAS MY PEOPLE… IT WAS THE UNMISTAKABLE SMELL OF A BED BUG.

I didn’t think twice.

I grabbed my bags and ran out of that house into -16°C snow without a winter jacket.
Yes. I chose freezing over infestation.
Outside, it was 10:40pm. Snowstorm. Wind slapping my face. No idea where I was going.
I ran across the street and entered a shawarma store just to escape the cold.
From there, I called an Uber to the nearest Walmart. It was closing at 11pm. I had less than 20 minutes.
I was already paranoid. I felt like bugs were crawling all over me. I needed new clothes immediately.
By pure luck, they let me in at 10:50pm.
I ran to the winter jacket aisle. Grabbed a heavy coat, toque, gloves, winter socks. I didn’t even check prices.
After paying, I took another cab back to Pearson Airport.

That night, I slept on a bench.
Actually, I didn’t sleep.

I emptied my entire bag on the airport floor. I was shaking. I was inspecting every single item. I even considered dumping all my clothes in the trash.
I called the woman who rented the room to me and threatened to report her to Health Canada.
The audacity of this woman…
She said maybe I was the one who brought the bugs.
Imagine that.

Anyway, that was just Day 1.
Four days of hell followed before I finally escaped back to Lagos.
I couldn’t wait to smell Nigerian air again.

(To be continued.)

A lot of people do not understand why it was so easy to pick all these girls and very quickly too. I have my own theory based on personal experiences online.

I always see a lot of ladies from Nairobi match with US guys or Western guys that I was forced to ask. Why would you want a guy thousands of miles away when you have Kenyan guys? One of the ladies told me...Kenyan guys are not serious about settling, some of them just have kids with different women, and some are even gays...lots of them. So I think over time most of these ladies watch single parent lives and struggles and see foreigners as the way to get out or stay out. Lots of them are working in Dubai too. They are also very trusting of foreigners and they often believe even if he does not marry them, he can continue to fund their lifestyles because you would not need much from abroad to do so.

One literally told me she is looking for a white man to take care of her. She is a single mother, daughter not even 2yrs old. She was in love, but on getting pregnant, the guy left her. She said she would skip secondary school or leave school early just to meet this guy and sleep with him. Very unfortunate..She is now in Nairobi looking for work, and daughter is left with Mom and family in their small town away from the city.

So the issue here is desperation, poverty, life choices and mistakes, and looking for saviors and messiahs. These ladies are victims, and they are also creators of their own miseries.

You did not blame him when Nigerians were flying to London just to party for a weekend. Blame yourself for not being able to manage resources and grow. We were spending like drunken sailors buying abroad....and this is where we are now.

I do not disagree with this sentiment...but the cattle rearers claim they pay farmers when they are allowed to encroach...probably not always the case. Some of them are clearly not educated enough...they may not even realize some are farmlands...i am not making excuses for them here...we just need to do better overall and cant just be shouting stop open grazing...what would they do? sit at home?

If they were grazing only on 'the weeds we refuse to cut down' there would be fewer problems.

Instead, they are grazing on cultivated farmland. That's why there is trouble.

Go and research how much US Govt pay in subsidy to farmers...even chicken and Govt provides Small Business Loans amongst others. You sit there saying is it Govt that will do this or that...Please how do you expect a cattle owner of 20 cows that is using his nephew to move cows from one place to another probably in exchange for 2 cows from the mix to set up cattle ranch. The one the Govt created, how viable is it and what is the cost and how does that benefit them? You cannot just claim to create something without a benefit plan. I can also sell lands for N100m per plot...does that benefit the average man?

Tenses:
So it's the job of the government to setup ranches for a private cattle business.

As bizarre as the idea may be, several state governments have setup ranches for cattle rearing but the herdsmen won't patronise them.

Personally I do not see a big deal about cows moving about. The Govs are not ready to create ranch systems. A lot will also go into a ranch system...feeds and all. Until that is done, the cows can move around eating all the weeds we refuse to cut down.

My proposal

Create a ranch system. When Farmers send food from the North, we load them with feeds.
You create jobs by having people go into farmlands to cut grasses and weeds....then you have central locations like we do for plastic bottles.
They weigh them, store and pay the locals.
They gather them in bulks and alert trailers so they can load them back to the ranches.
You need to build massive tanks to store water and sewage systems to process wastes.

You create JOBS in the South and stop the movement, but you must be ready to pay more for meats because instead of cows eating for free by moving about, farmers will be paying for daily feeds.

I stepped outside to catch some fresh air.
Next thing I saw, was an entire Fulani VIP delegation of cows rolling through the area like they own the place.

Big big cows, chest out, tail swinging like they’re doing Azonto, herder behind them doing small security escort formation.

This was in a city center around Arab Junction, Utako market area, Abuja, the federal capital territory.

Yet everybody just dey waka normal normal like say na new BRT lane cows dey use.
No horn, no abuse, no “abeg comot for road”, nothing.

The cows don upgrade to permanent residents with right of way under the leadership of Wike our land grabbing FCT minister.

Power pass power.
See pictures I took live.

We focus on the physical...some of these things are supernatural. Why were they at that location at that time? They could have ignored but they choose to confront. Even the apprentice they tried to save is probably still alive and yet this guy is dead and gone...and his properties if any will become someone else...this does not look or feel normal. May God help and protect us o.
