He never said his assertions were based on personal experience.

From your second paragraph, I understand that you know or believe that the adherents of these thousands of religions have personal experiences. At least that tells you that there's more to life than what the natural realm or mere human logic can offer.

You're not far from discovering the truth.
“I don’t know or believe that the adherents of these thousands of religions have personal experiences.” That’s what they claim, it’s all a CLAIM that they can’t prove to others.

That was also what zeus worshippers thought and they also claimed they had experience, till we found out it was all mythology.

You’re not far from discovering the truth about your religion either.

HisSplendor:
When did I tell you that personal experience is proof?

However, your personal experiences can stand as proof for your own self. Not necessarily for others. Hence, others must find their own proofs.
If personal experience can stand as proof for your own self why were you asking him to show proof of his assertions?

We have hundreds of religion, thousands of gods and each of their followers claim their experience as “proof”.

I don’t think “proof” works like that.

Hoodrat:
When the bible say black man it really means what it means in any case. There are colours and hair texture everywhere in the bible regarding the physical description of God children been of dark skin,God himself having a wooly hair and physical colour in the book of revelation.
So the black man was about skin tone.

That’s what “belief” does.

Just listen to yourself man.
Listen to your advice sir, personal experience is not “proof”, a dictionary will tell you that.

Hoodrat:
Truth need to be told, the black man is a image of God on the planet earth.
What does a “black man” mean? Is it skin tone? Or continent?

HisSplendor:
We're talking about someone who never has dreamt. How do you prove to him that dreams exist?
I’ll tell him what causes dream, and also that dream doesn’t “exist”.
For an effect to occur there must be a cause!

We have people that “has never” had hiv, but they know what hiv means and how it works, what causes it and effect.

This is basic for a kindergarten.

Christianity Etc › Re: The Folly In Atheism by Maynman: 1:55pm On Nov 18, 2022
HisSplendor:
Meanwhile, that doesn't prove that dreams are real. How does telling someone what causes dreams prove to that person that dreams are real?
I’ll tell him what causes dream and also tell him dreams are not real, just as day dreaming is not real.

Christianity Etc › Re: The Folly In Atheism by Maynman: 1:52pm On Nov 18, 2022
HisSplendor:
Your rice and stomach ache example should be taken at parallel to the discussion but you're talking about the proof of the cause rather than the proof of the subject.

Have you ever dreamt in your life? How would you prove to someone who has never dreamt that the dreams are real?
I’m talking about neither.
Your personal experience does not count as proof, you need facts and evidence to call something “proof”.

I’ll tell him what causes dream.

if you watch the interview well he actually said arsenal almost immediately...its after piers morgan gave him a confusing look...he then retracted and said if man united doesn't win it he would want arsenal to get it
So what’s the fuss?

Neither do I need it nor ask you if stomach pain exists. What's your motivation for talking about rice and stomach ache on this thread?
If you do you’ll know personal experience does not count as “proof”

Read slowly: “If you eat rice and you get stomach ache, that’s not proof that rice causes stomach ache.” It was a REPLY to when you said “ Find your own proofs because I'm not responsible for your life.”

Get one if you need it.

Or create a group to discuss about your rice and stomach ache.
I’m not the one that needs it or asking “does stomach pain exist”

I'm here to discuss nothing literal about your rice and stomach ache.
Let me go and find my “own proof” that’s figurative cheesy

Christianity Etc › Re: The Folly In Atheism by Maynman: 12:34pm On Nov 18, 2022
HisSplendor:
Okay. I'm not here to discuss rice if what you said is literal.
And you are here to discuss “ does stomach pain exist?"
Christianity Etc › Re: The Folly In Atheism by Maynman: 12:30pm On Nov 18, 2022
HisSplendor:
What you said is figurative, and I've stricken a parralel with it on the main discourse.

If you're here to discuss about rice and stomach ache, I think you should find the nearest lab to discuss that.
What do you understand by figurative?

If you don’t know what “proof” means, I think you should find a dictionary.
Christianity Etc › Re: The Folly In Atheism by Maynman: 12:25pm On Nov 18, 2022

Are we talking about the cause of God or the existence of God?
You and who is talking about that?

This is what i said, read slowly: “If you eat rice and you get stomach ache, that’s not proof that rice causes stomach ache.” It was a REPLY to when you said “ Find your own proofs because I'm not responsible for your life.”
Christianity Etc › Re: The Folly In Atheism by Maynman: 12:14pm On Nov 18, 2022
HisSplendor:
You're not on track.

We're not disputing the cause. The question is "does stomach pain exist?" What caused the stomach pain isn't the subject.
The question was never “does stomach pain exist”
You formed that in your mind, totally off point and shows desperation.

This is what i said, read slowly “If you eat rice and you get stomach ache, that’s not proof that rice causes stomach ache.” It was a reply to when you said “ Find your own proofs because I'm not responsible for your life.”
Christianity Etc › Re: How To Convince An Atheist That God Exists by Maynman: 12:08pm On Nov 18, 2022
When will some illiterate theist know that Christianity is not the opposite of atheism.
Christianity Etc › Re: The Folly In Atheism by Maynman: 11:57am On Nov 18, 2022
HisSplendor:
I agree. But read my post again. We're not talking about the cause but the effect.

It's one proof that stomach pain exists.
How can there an effect without cause?

It’s not proof that rice causes stomach ache.

Stomach ache is not natural, so something definitely must have caused it.
Christianity Etc › Re: The Folly In Atheism by Maynman: 11:40am On Nov 18, 2022
HisSplendor:
But that's proof that stomach pain exists when the experience is distributed amongst a sizeable number of people in every generation.
Read again slowly: If you eat rice and you get stomach ache, that’s not proof that rice causes stomach ache.
Christianity Etc › Re: The Folly In Atheism by Maynman: 11:29am On Nov 18, 2022
HisSplendor:
We're talking about an abstract and intangible realm that's fully open to research. Meanwhile, it's also an experiential and relational realm very individualistic in nature.

Find your own proofs because I'm not responsible for your life.

And if you can't take the research, then keep on affirming your unverified claims if that's the wisest decision you can make.
I don’t think you know the definition of “proof”.

If you eat rice and you get stomach ache, that’s not proof that rice causes stomach ache.

Christianity Etc › Re: The Folly In Atheism by Maynman: 11:18am On Nov 18, 2022
HisSplendor:
Why don't you take responsibility like I did, and find proofs for yourself?
Are your own “proofs” subjective?
