As much as hate 5% rule of SL when entering a trade, as I prefer dynamic SL. I knew the 5% rules are specifically meant for this type of asset, you can survive in long run without adequately know what you are risking on any trade. And this one no be second guessing your setup you must be absolutely sure before delving in. This is just my first initial assessment and approach to be taken trading it.

I'll advise you focus more on currencies and indices.vix is highly manipulated

My first experience in this market was in 2007. And I have not seen one trader that survived the fx trading with high risk.
