In a bid to stop trolling and online harassment, Twitter has now begun to reduce the reach of abusive accounts. The social media site's new vetting system temporarily restricts the tweets of abusive users, making them effectively invisible to those who don't already follow them.

For this week's Head of House task the Housemates had to use only their right hand to unfurl a large roll of tissue paper. The goal? To find the the hidden roll of blue tissue paper hidden underneath. The Housemates had to work quickly but there was not guarantee that the roll they got started on had the hidden blue roll underneath making it anyone's game.



Right off the bat Bally got knocked out of the running. It would seem he didn't pay close attention to the rules and used two hands to unroll the tissue paper. Biggie's voice boomed through the speakers telling him to step away as he'd been disqualified. Looking sullen and dissapointed in himself, all Bally could do was watch on as the the rest of the Housemates tugged at the tissue rolls frantically.

The task proved to be a really hectic arm workout and the Housemates were sweating by the end! ThinTallTony finished first but found no blue roll. Instead it was Ese who came out victorious. She collected her crown and sceptre as Biggie congratulated her and told her to rule with pride!

The Ekiti State House of Assembly has summoned the former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi to appear before the House on Feb.7.

The House at its plenary sitting on Thursday in Ado-Ekiti frowned at the failure of the former governor to appear before it for two consecutive times since March 8, 2016, when he was summoned.


The House had invited the former governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi twice on the allegation of diversion of N850 million State Universal Basic Education (SUBEB) counterpart fund.

The House, therefore, condemned the attitude of the former governor, saying he was responsible for the setback being witnessed in the education sector in the state.

Dr Samuel Omotosho, a member of the house said “the house is empowered by the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under Section 129, Sub section 6, to issue a warrant of arrest to bring him before the court.’’

Another member of the House, Mrs Titilayo Owolabi said that the former governor should be given another opportunity to appear before the House on Feb.7.

She said that former governor should be compelled to obey the summon as “nobody is above the law’’.

Mr Ekundayo Akinleye, another member, expressed dismay at the damage the former governor had caused the state, alleging that it led to high level of illiteracy in the state.

The Minister of State, Petroleum Resources , Mr Ibe Kachikwu, said that Nigeria is capable of producing three million barrels of crude oil per day from the Niger Delta region.

Kachikwu stated this at a stakeholders’ meeting organised by the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs on Tuesday in Abuja.



Apart from the Niger Delta Ministry, the convener, the meeting was also attended by officials from the, the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCD&MB), among others.

The minister said the insecurity in the region had been undermining the nation’s capacity to realise its potential in oil production.

“It is important we continue to sustain the institutional engagement and negotiations which are key to the development of the region.

“Our target is zero militancy by the middle of 2017, and an incident reduction in the region by 90 per cent by 2018.

“We must resolve current militancy problems and bring back oil production to 2.2 million barrels per day,” he said.

He lamented that over $40billion had been spent in 12 years and there were no infrastructures on ground to justify the huge expenditure profile.


Kachikwu said that a lot would have been achieved if there were zeal to collaborate in such a manner.

Kachikwu urged the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and other partners to commence immediate action in this regard.

Kachikwu said there was need to create stability incentive schemes, jobs and investment opportunities, so that the government would look at cross border investments to strengthen the region.

The minister said the government was introducing a joint account with oil companies to foster transparency in cash calls and ensure that inflows were clearly understood by all.

“We are targeting 30 per cent cost savings, which we can link to transparency.

“What is most important is not the amount of the fund; it’s the conceptualization of that funding.

“Governors will have to come together as a regional
block to look at cross-state investments in roads, railways, town facilities or specialist hospitals.

“We are going to pool in energy and ensure we look at cross border investments to strengthen the region” he said.

Kachikwu said government was also looking at the amnesty programme to absorb some of the trained ex-agitators in the areas of coastal patrol and Niger Delta paramilitary type organisations.

The Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), (retired) Brig.-Gen. Paul Boroh, in his remarks reaffirmed the readiness and determination of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to find a permanent solution to the problems of the region.

Boroh, who doubles as the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs, said that the current administration deserved cooperation and support for appreciating the environmental challenges of the region.

He disclosed that the ex-militants in the region were trained on fish farming, snail farming etc by the National Biotechnology Resources Centre, as parts of the Federal Government’s efforts to gainfully engage them in responsible living.

The housemates were each given 45 seconds to nominate two fellow housemates for eviction and Miyonse, Soma and Gifty got the most nominations from other housemates.

Report has it that a top executioner for Isis has allegedly been stabbed to death in an attack on his car during an ambush in Iraq.

Abu Sayyaf, who is thought to have beheaded more than 100 people, is said to have been killed in the Nineveh State after being swarmed.

The executioner, whose name translates to ‘father of swordsmith’ was known for collecting the heads of his victims and throwing them away in the same hole.

Journalist Muhammad Yawar told ARA News: ‘Abu Sayyaf was one of the scariest executioners in Nineveh. He was known for his huge body and heavy arms. He was one of the renowned faces in the ISIS propaganda videos.

‘Abu Sayyaf was a reflection of the brutality of this terrorist group.’

His death has yet to be independently verified, but it is believed that he was killed along with another militant who was with him during the attack.

It is also unclear how Sayyaf was killed with some reporting that he had been stabbed while others said that he had been shot dead.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has labelled Paul Pogba the world’s best midfielder, but warned he will not win the Ballon d’Or unless the award changes.

However, the 23-year-old made a slow start to his second spell at Old Trafford leading some to question whether he was worth the fee paid by United.

His form has improved in recent weeks, along with United’s as a whole, and Mourinho insisted it would always take time for Pogba to readapt to the rigours of the Premier League.
“The Premier League is very difficult,” Mourinho told French television. “You play three, four years in Italy and you come to the Premier League and the world is completely different.
“He's doing well, he's doing more than well. His evolution is clear. So I can imagine that next season for Paul will be top.”
Pogba has scored five goals for United this season and contributed a further four assists but while Mourinho believes he is the world’s best midfielder, he feels the 23-year-old will never be voted the world’s best player because he is not a goalscorer.
The top three in the Ballon d’Or – Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann – are all strikers and Mourinho insisted the award must change if Pogba is to realise his dream and win the trophy.
“At the moment, if you're not a goal scorer, you cannot win the Ballon d'Or,” Mourinho said.
But if the perception changes, then Paul can win it, because Paul is not a goal scorer.
“Paul is a midfielder who will score more and more goals, because I think he has good conditions to score goals. Paul is a midfielder, in my opinion, the best, the best in the world.
“Obviously, he's young, he can still improve, he wants to improve, which is even better.”
