Education / Will Universities Conduct Post UTME This Year? by mayorkun(m): 2:03pm On Apr 03, 2018
Will Universities Conduct Post UTME?
There’s been alot of questions from candidates asking if there will be Post UTME this year.

You will get the answer to the question below shortly.

There has been alot of questions regarding this year admission process if Universities will conduct Post UTME. Based on Logistics on what’s happened during few year Jamb has directed Universities to conduct Screening exercise and also directed Universities to conduct Post UTME.

Almost all Universities conducted post UTME during 2017/2018 admission process. Although some Universities didn’t conduct, the choice is on the the University of your choice if they would conduct any.

So whats best for candidates is to be ready for Post UTME at the University of their choice. You can get LATEST POST UTME PAST QUESTIONS HERE.

The admission race to enter into a university is not over has you will still be made to write Post UTME.
Here are things you need to do to score high at Post UTME.

1. GO THROUGH THE EXAM SYLLABLES: Most students don’t read until the exam is fast approaching before they start cracking the hard kernel, you are not helping yourself. Waiting till two months to examination is an announced failure, no offence though.

There are people who will start studying two weeks to exams and make it but please don’t try it; you may be surprised it doesn’t work out for you that way.

Besides, topics in the syllables are usually much and you need to go through them thoroughly to assimilate them bit by bit. Except you are an immediate high school lever, you know your brain is still fresh but if you’ve been home for a year or two, you need to go through the syllables, studying all the topics at least two to three times before the examination date. Do that when you still have time. Waiting till exams date is fast approaching puts you in a hurry, you won’t be able to concentrate on a particular topic and you’ll want to jump to the next because there is no time.

2. GET PAST QUESTIONS: It is quintessential of a visionary student that you dig in and get a compiled copy of the university’s past question and answers. This is very important as it helps to widen your thinking faculty, exposing the scope and procedure by which examinations are set and how to answer the questions without getting confused by the technicality of the question and the way they are being set.

This is also essential as past questions is usually like an expo helping you understand the angle from which questions might come from, though some questions are usually repeated, it is important to read all through noting vital points. You can get the past questions downloaded into your phones as these days, paper copies are fast diminishing but you can still go for it if you wish to.

3. KNOW THE SCHOOL’S CUT OFF MARK: Before you even apply for post UME, you should make sure your score marches or is above the university’s cut off mark before you apply. Some universities’ cut off mark is usually 200 like UNN, UI and other institutions while others are from 180. You need to be sure with your score; you can apply for post UME and stand a chance of gaining admission.

If you are not sure, you are advised to get a change of course/institution form before the deadline. Have handful knowledge about the school so you know what you’ll expect to see and won’t be frightened when you do.

4. APPLY FOR POST UME/PRE ADMISSION SCREENING: When applying, keep your options clear and focused on what you want and go for it. Get to know the venue for your exam/screening and keep your examination date at the back of your mind or on a special journal so you don’t forget because if you miss your date, that is immediate failure, no turning back.

5. ON YOUR EXAM DATE: You are advised to arrive early on your screening date. If you live far from the exam town, you are expected to arrive your exam town before the date, lodge somewhere safe and prepare for the exam. When you arrive early, it’ll grant you time to locate your hall and get settled.

6. FOCUS ON THE EXAMINATION: In the examination hall, make it your business to focus, disregard any thing that may distract you. Do not be involved in malpractice because if the caught, the consequence will be awful. Be thorough and read the questions repeatedly understanding each before answering and don’t be in a haste to submit, go through your work again to correct the errors before submitting.

Crime / Heartless Husband Pours Acid On His Wife Because She Had A Baby Girl (photos) by mayorkun(m): 12:58pm On Mar 10, 2018
A 25-year-old woman has been severely burned after her husband poured acid on her for giving birth to a baby girl.

Farah after her husband poured acid on her for giving birth to a baby girl

A man poured acid on his sleeping wife on International Women's Day because she gave birth to a baby girl when he had wanted a boy, Dailymail has reported.

The woman identified as Farah, 25, was severely burned in the alleged attack by Siraj, also known as Bhura, in the town of Moradabad near New Delhi area of India on Monday.

Giving reason for the act, the man accused her of failing to fulfill his demand for a dowry and not delivering him a male child. The 32-year-old is now wanted for voluntarily causing grievous bodily harm using acid and is the subject of a police manhunt.

Farah was rushed to the district hospital after the cowardly attack in a serious condition with burns to her face, hands, and abdomen.

Her sister Nusrat Jahan said the young woman married the labour contractor eight years ago, but they began to fight in the past year when he demanded a dowry.

She said the recent birth of Farah's second daughter was the trigger for the alleged acid attack.

Farah said her husband's family began to give her a hard time after she gave birth to her first daughter, and later escalated to beating her.

'After the birth of the first girl, my in-laws started to target me as if I deliberately delivered a baby girl,' he said.

'The harassment kept intensifying as time passed by. For the past one year, things had become really bad.'

Farah said Siraj, under pressure from his family, would demand she go to her parents and get money to give to them.

'When I didn't oblige them, they started to beat me up. It come to a head when my second daughter was born,' she said.

'I was trying to live with the daily dose of torture thinking about the wellbeing of my daughters. I was wondering if I part ways from Siraj who would provide for my two daughters and myself.

'But I could never imagine that he would go to the extent of pouring acid on me. I won't forgive him for this ever.'

Health / Horror As Woman Gives Birth To ‘strange Creature’ In Abia State (graphic Pics) by mayorkun(m): 10:04am On Mar 10, 2018
A woman has reportedly given birth to a very strange creature in a community in Abia, sparking quite a stir in the area.

It was pure confusion and panic that took over the Abba Trinity Hospital in Aba, Abia State recently when a really strange baby was born in the place.
The incident which happened yesterday reportedly shocked the hospital officials and those around following the ”strange” birth.
According to one Cynthia Chioma, the woman survived the delivery and is said to be alive. The baby died after birth.
While some think this has to do with something spiritual, others have argued online that this is a medical condition.
A Facebook user Chyomsie Okorafor Gregory wrote; ”He is an anencephalic baby, this kind of birth defect is caused by lack of folic acid in the body of the woman. If a woman’s body cuts short folic acid and she conceives, the lack of folic acid in her body will result to this where a part of the skull or the whole skull will be completely gone”.

”These babies grow like normal pregnancies but once the baby is born and detached from the mother the baby dies. Lots of us don’t know if our body cuts short folic acid until the person must have taken in and will discover she is carrying an anencephalic baby maybe at 5months”.

”So its important that once a woman is ready to start trying out for a child or gets married or is having unprotected s*x that can lead to pregnancy, she should start taking folic acid to prevent things like this”
