Aduke007:The answer to both questions is No. There’s is no requirement and no documents will be required I believe. The only consequence is you’d get 0 on ‘spouse factor’. But with more than enough CRS points for French category, it’s inconsequential. Cheers
|
cucumbar:E shock you too?🤷🏼♂️😀😂 |
amnotapervert:Baba is there a “statistic” or official visa requirement of $45,000 PoF as a tourist? While your stats about visa refusal is accurate…it’s unrelated to POF. Which was the question OP asked. Let’s learn to separate verifiable facts from personal opinion. Fact: there’s increasing rejection rate of TRV. Opinion: having a significant POF ($45k that most Canadians don’t even have saved) that can be traced to the stated source of income improves possible positive outcome. And you’re 100% correct that the 2026 TRV rejection rate will keep increasing as Conservatives are asking for Diab to be fired for problems that predates her resumption of office. It has become very political now. Cheers |
Tvickie:Yes you should unfreeze it. Someone here had same ADR a while back. ‘Unfreeze’ it and show the paper trail from when the gift was deposited =>FD=> back in accessible savings account and highlight it in your statement of account. + a new bank reference letter. U can add a short LoE to provide clarity. e.g I received gift deed on xx/xx/2025 and to ensure the funds is exclusively for settling in Canada I invested in FD on xx/xx/2025. I liquidated the investment on xx/xx/2026 and the said fund is now accessible in my savings account with XYZ bank ltd blah blah blah. All the best!! |
ebonyalhjnr:Do you have the official Notification of Results? That’s usually ready before the certificate after senate has approved results. My spouse used it a few years ago without issues, might be worth exploring. Otherwise April is almost here😊 |
Sheron50:This ADR is a rarity, I know folks that used gift deed+ new dorm account combo without issue. The ADR u shared was not precise, it said “provide bank account “ as against their usual request for bank statements covering a specific period. My guess is the PA didn’t show funds inflow (Transfer receipt) from the Donor, hence the request. P.S: The person I know added an LoE explaining that the new dollar account was opened to mitigate potential lost of monetary value due to unstable forex. |
PrettyRX:If it’s gift deed, you should be fine. I know someone that used it without issues. Cheers |
Thazard:Like @Jedisco said, depends on the job. Most jobs have lower range and upper range, a quick search on indeed/glassdoor will reveal the going rates. If the $25/hr offer is within that range, rush am take ease your settlement and get Canadian experience on your resumé. After a while start applying to other jobs with higher pay. Cheers |
cucumbar:You will have 30 days to submit. if your passport won’t be ready by then, send an email/webform with compelling proof that you’ve attempted to get your passport back without success from the embassy. They should likely extend when you will be expected to submit it upon receipt. |
Please don’t fall for agent Layi’s lies this 2026😊😊
|
Bigzaddy2004:Have you evaluated your OND yet? If you haven’t, do that with WES asap as you’re preparing for IELTS- it’s an advantage. IELTS as a second language if you can prep well and get a good score too will boost your point so great planning there! Also simulate your potential score with your current French scores and potential ielts scores. Your CRS should be within the range of recent French draws if not higher sef. All the best!! |
Still on blue collars…Just incase someone might find this useful- https://www.canada.ca/en/services/jobs/training/support-skilled-trades-apprentices/loan.html Apprentice Pipefitter, electrician or insulator is a financially rewarding path into the energy sector especially if you’re in Alberta. Red seal journeymen in Alberta are ballers and there’s likely more energy projects in next few years IMO. No be everyone go get tech jobs. #DoYourOwnResearch |
Ifetech81:If she has valid work permit and job offer, she doesn’t need to show PoF. See the excerpt from ircc PoF requirement for EE attached. Go through the website too for clarity: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/documents/proof-funds.html Cheers and all the best to your family!

Tymally:IMO, seems like in-land spousal PR sponsorship after you land in his warm bosom may be the path to go as he is in Canada already. Good thing u informed IRCC after you got married. Perhaps you or husband can call IRCC for best “choice” in your unique situation. Or send webform. Kindly note that IRCC has recently been trying to check all the spousal accompanying/unaccompanying loophole. Some people’s applications getting rejected sef. If na me, I for collect visa land first. Then start inland spousal sponsorship immediately. Hopefully within 6months to 1 year baba sef go get PR. He won’t even notice the time fly as he’ll have your companionship 😃😍 |
Rtdrektboy:Give some context- How long ago was the marriage and what profession was on the marriage certificate? Why the disparity in NOC you got the ITA with? How long was the “brief” EE profile for? The scrutiny for all EE applications is higher now so you’ll need a solid convincing response. |
Sasaele24:Maybe your visa officer went on vacation/maternity leave 😀😀. Your options are limited. One call IRCC and ask for update. Each ircc calls makes the agent leaves a note on your file. Also Send a compassionate letter via webform appealing for finalising your application. State how your plans is stagnant especially as you’ve told your current employer you’re leaving as you have a job offer already in Canada. How you look forward to settling in Canada and contributing to your potential community in your little way. How the delay affects your mental health blah blah blah…be creative and convincing and hope for the best. Cheers! |
Thrombos:It doesn’t matter where passport is sent to I believe. As long as the transmission fee is paid to that VFS and the PPR letter is added to both packages.e.g u did biometrics in Lagos, you have to pay passport transmission fee in UK VFS for them to stamp your visa. If it will help you sleep well at night, you can attach a brief LOE explaining you’re(Principal applicant) currently in UK hence you’re submitting for only your dependents to Lagos VFS. You can also call IRCC for accurate information about this to dispel all doubts. |
atoleybaba:Upload what they asked in the ADR letter and send it via webform too. They can’t miss both |
Lanrebobokay:Recent trend, 3 to 7 business days for TRV |
clayfounder:Was your last sentence necessary? Experience they say is sometimes the best teacher baba |
AmiableMosquito:Yes, bank statements reflecting NYSC payments of 33k for 12 months. The description is usually “Federal LA” or something close but it’s consistent for 12 months. So that works great. No need to inflate gross salary on the reference letter…it’s not CV so you don’t need to look good, truthfully put what you can prove easily 33k x 12 = #396,000 Net Salary per annum |
MzSheila:You’re joking right? Someone should correct me if I’m wrong, I think you can use WES for your husband. They will only evaluate it as bachelors degree, it’s going to be less stress, faster and cheaper than medical board. Besides the difference between bachelors and professional degree for spouse is like 2 points or so. Better still contact WES and ask them if they can just evaluate his degree as he doesn’t plan to practice immediately. All the best |
Nickisindigo:Did you work the requisite hours performing the job and got paid? If yes, don’t see why not |
malakiMal:$10 na downpayment for town house in Alberta, no slack ooo baba. Especially in this inflation. Whatever advise/counsel Lawyer will offer, you can get it here trust me. Your tech experience after NYSC also shows career progression from data analysis you did for local government, so include that 7months too. Basically, you don’t need any professional or packaging sef. Who I mentioned previously worked in a government hospital during NYsC and used it to get category based draw. They asked for payslips and bank deposits in ADR, and she provided it. She dey Canada now. Speaking of lawyers, they only know as much as the cases they have dealt with….I’ve learnt this sad truth from a close friends experience. Something else the lawyer won’t tell u or doesn’t know is that marriage when you’re in Canada on TRV and eventual spousal application takes really long time dis days as IRCC is cracking down on fraud marriages meant to game the system. So the scrutiny your application will get even with a child involve will be more than EE. Not to talk of the possibility the lady will hold it over your head for as long as God knows. Claiming asylum with a Canadian child already won’t fly, cos impregnating a citizen already shows desperation if you objectively look at it through the lens of Refugee processing officers. It’s not worth tainting your record for life & potentially ruining your chances of seeing your child grow. **Lawyer Layi just wants to make an easy buck just like travel agents. Feel free to reach out. |
malakiMal:I think the 1 year NYSC experience is your best of the listed options. I know people that used NYSC without issues as it’s paid legitimate work and qualifies for what ircc requires IMO. what exactly did u do during NYSC? One person I know last year explained(LOE) that she was paid by a ministry in the government when they requested for payslips, she’s in Canada now. Can you get reference letter from ur exPPA without their mention of NYSC? Simply stating your roles in ircc format and gross salary of 33k X12months. Then add the 7 months experience in tech too. 526 is an enviable score….no slack baba. Your lawyer Layi probably dey dis same nairaland dey gather intel😀😀. Who no go no know! |
If e easy my whole village for Dey Canada.😀😀 Start at page 1. Babyodesco: |
Do you have counterfoil/immigrant visa stamped on the passport already? Or you’re just been proactive? I know airlines are not very rigid about passport validity for Immigrant(PR) Visa cos you’re immigrating and don’t need to book return ticket. It’s different with TRV though. In the past IRCC will advise you renew your passport if less than 6 months before they send PPR, don’t know if that has changed. If you’re been been proactive, renew the passport and send it via webform. chiderajude: |
GraciousWords:Turn up the volume please!!!🎤🙂🙂 |
Jeboy:That’s one way to look at it. I strongly believe It’s the prerogative of the country he plans to travel to, to grant him visa or not. It’s not his birth right. This is not Africa. On the other hand there are probably things we are not privy to. For example, do you know if there r evidences that he once committed war crimes? Which is not impossible in Nigeria. |
babatulla:1. Only Original Nigeria drivers licence helps you qualify for a road test(Class 5) after passing the knowledge test (Class 7) if you have previous years of experience in Nigeria. Driving history only helps with a few insurance companies to reduce your insurance premiums, most insurance companies in Alberta dis days prefer North American driving history. 2. Study Alberta driver’s handbook and challenge the Class 7 test at any registry close to you. A pass qualifies you for Class 5 road test, the registry agent will collect your Nigeria Licence for verification, to make sure it’s not Oluwole then inform you that you qualify for road test in about 2-3 weeks. Go to an alberta.ca or a registry near u to find out more. |
ifeanyija:You upload soft copy/scanned copy. |
Teeeteee130:Do you have paystubs, employment letter, promotion letter, statement of account that shows deposits from the company and any other documents that showed you worked for the company? If Yes, then you have nothing to worry about. You may get ‘Proof of Employment’ ADR to submit said documents. |
