this is not entirely true my friend with a pending spousal sponsorship application applied for visiting visa. They never processed it and processed the sponsorship application like 3 months later.

Hello! I’m looking to move from Ontario(Aurora) to Edmonton with my son. Looking for advice on good areas to rent in or possibly buy a 3 bedroom townhouse. I’ve been in Canada for a while but Ontario is just not cutting it for me anymore. Renting or buying is just too pricy here now. A super visa can be used for a step mother if she meets the definition of a parent for immigration purposes. According to ircc, a Parent is defined as "a person who is the natural parent or adoptive parent (legally adopted before the age of 18) of a person". Therefore, if your step mother legally adopted you before you turned 18, she can apply for a super visa as your parent. However, if she did not adopt you legally, she cannot apply for a super visa as your parent.

I need to ask the questions below as regards my application and sequel to my post yesterday;
1. Will cancelling my submitted application affect my payment, I mean does it affect the visa fee already paid?. Otilo

2. Is there a way I can mail them or call as regards the refusal or the best bet is for me to cancel and submit again? You can send a webform to Lagos and Nairobi and hope for the best. Someone recently said he/she got rejected even after sending mail/webform. While another person said they sent a mail giving him opportunity to explain the visa refusal before they finalized the application.

Please advise.
Ultimately the choice to (1)withdraw the application or (2)send a mail/webform and hope for the best however uncertain is Yours.

It only occured to me after submitting when I realized that my biometric was seen and I will need not go for biometric again.
My question is this, what are my chances for not stating this even though it skipped my memory? Secondly, can I write to them stating this now that a decision has not been made? If yes, how do I go about this.

I need some advise. I am on PGWP in Canada as i recently graduated from a Canadian school....I plan to write a letter inviting him to stay with me for two weeks. Should I submit 4months of my Canadian saving account, employment letter and pay stub. Or simply writing an invitation letter is sufficient.

In my case i already have my Copr (express entry) and i have been applying for jobs. I'm in tech and have over 6 years experience in software qa engineering and 1.5 in data science & analytics , i have several certifications and already have a masters.

The stories i hear are scary but I'm very optimistic and hopeful.

So my question are this.

1} can I flagpole even when we didn't update our marital status??
In my opinion a safer/legitimate option will be for you guys to update your status. You got married after visa approval so nothing to worry about here. It's not like you lied you were single in ur visa applications.

2} if I should update my status before leaving hope it won't complicate issues for my wife??
Because she haven't update her.
She should also update her status, again no issues here as marriage happened after visa approval. Besides she's already there.

3} will my tourist visa be cancelled if I update my marital status??
Being married to someone with study visa is not a prerequisite for tourist visa approval. I don't think they will cancel ur current tourist visa, but IRCC can be unpredictable.

4} Can I travel after I send IRCC my current status or am I too wait until they update it ??
Its advisable IMO to wait for their response, that way you can travel and then apply for spousal open work permit from Canada as a spouse of a student visa. They'd probably approve it faster so you can start working and support her.

5) if I send email to IRCC can I delcare on POE that I have a wife in Canada??
If they ask yes especially as you would have informed IRCC before your travel.

6) can my wife update her marital status through her school portal??
Would the school inform IRCC? Because IRCC need to update her marital status to enable you apply for SOWP.

For someone whose is the sole sponsor of his spouse and kids that are studying in Canada but working in his home country and visits occasionally. Is he meant to also pay income tax in Canada after paying income tax in his home country?

You guys got married last year, he traveled back to Canada shortly after and communication between you two was good, at least for some time.

4 months ago, he cut communication with you. Anything could be wrong. Did anything change about you after he moved back to Canada? Were you putting undue pressure on him? Like finance and putting pressure on him to file for you so you can join him?

Again, it's possible that he's not married and that email from his 'other wife' could be him sending it to you to give him some space.

Relax! Your case is not ideal but give the young man some time. He's a student. 20 hours/week and he's funding his studies and stuff.

Just 4 months of no communication and you're already thinking of bringing the poor man down. What will you do when you land? Like I said earlier, you can claim spousal abandonment until at least 12 months.

ircc does not handle marital disputes, at this point you can’t establish the real situation too. At this point start looking past this so called marriage. No be marriage be this. It is also your right to Bleep him up too, he deserves it

It is obvious he has been struggling with finances and school. However, the extent to which it affected his current behavior is still to be determined

I think he unblocks you when he need to send you messages but blocks you afterwards. I think you have enough to build a case and you shouldn't worry about fake divorce documents because it helps your case to deal with him.


I will say give him more time preferably 4 months to finish his school. I know this is difficult but you have to be seen as have done everything humanly possible to remedy the situation before you act. During this period, keep trying to communicate, talk to his parents etc. You can create new profiles and emails to reach him and see if he blocks that one too. Keep documenting the evidences .

It is possible he may realize himself and come back to you or continue in his way. If nothing happens at the end, you can decide how to deal with him.
