What authority do they have to prove the claim?

I would like to take this opportunity to state clearly.....a violent clash that will split the country is brewing.

Jonathan is not ready to handover and Buhari is set to snatch power from him. There is a bottled pressure and its approaching a blow point.....the steam is about to explode.

Its amazing how Asari has cleverly outsourced his war cries to FFK and FAYOSE. They are now the drum majors for Jonathan victory at all cost.

The exchange of brickbats between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2015 elections has taken yet another turn, with the PDP campaign organisation asking Muhammadu Buhari to explain his role in the events leading to the 1966 countercoup.

Addressing the media on Wednesday, Femi Fani-Kayode, the spokesman of the PDP campaign organisation, asked Buhari, the APC  presidential candidate, to answer questions on the “massacre of Igbo” in Kano in 1966 and in Asaba during the civil war.

He also said Buhari has been asked by foreign countries to legalise gay marriage in Nigeria in exchange for their backing in the presidential election.

Fani-Kayode told the media: “[Buhari] needs to answer questions about his role in the July 29, 1966 coup and the mass murder of about 300 Igbo army officers, including a serving Head of State, that took place that night.

» more This suspected armed robber says Ladipo Market is the recruitment center for criminals.  (PM News)

The Ladipo Motor Spare Parts Market in Mushin area of Lagos, according to an armed robbery suspect who was arrested by the  Special Anti-Robbery Squad of Lagos State Police Command, John Onyekachi Oshomi, is a den of robbers where gang members are recruited among the traders who double as spare part dealers in the day and criminals in the night.

The revelation came from the 25-year-old Enugu State born notorious criminal who swore that most traders stock their shops with stolen cars and other properties they get during robbery operations.

According to the suspect, most robbery gangs operating in Lagos metropolis recruit their members from traders at the Ladipo Auto Spare Parts Market.

The Sunday, who was reportedly arrested by the police with one of his gang members, Patrick Ifada, with guns and bullets at Festac Town while going for an operation, confessed that despite the fact that the market is known for sale of motor parts, many of the traders there are also involved in other criminal activities such as bank and highway robbery, car snatching and others.

Crying profusely while being paraded by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Kayode Aderanti, Sunday said he became involved in robbery because of bad friends and had to confess so that God will forgive him and save him from his predicament.

The suspect stated that when he came to Lagos, he started as a commuter bus conductor and later his friend, Ifada, convinced him to join armed robbery.

Sunday added that he was introduced to different gangs, saying there are several gangs in the market ranging from beginners, those that have matured known as ‘in-between’ and and big time robbers.

He explained that beginners are those still learning to be robbers, while those known as ‘in-between’ are those who had completed their training and do not have means to buy arms for operation.

Lastly, there are the big time operators called 'Ladipo Big Boys', who have assorted weapons and can hire them out to robbers for operations.

He revealed that most people posing as traders are actually robbers, noting that they only use the market as cover and in the night they go for robbery operation.

Sunday said not only the market is used for information dissemination, it also serves as take off base for robbers in the night and other drug related dealings.

He revealed that there are several take off points for robbers in the market. These include Five Star area and some axis that are accessible to Oshodi-Apapa expressway.

"Go there in the evening around 7.00 pm and observe and you will see people mainly criminals from different parts of Lagos assemble in the market to plan and move for operation."

• Imo chief nabbed for robbery months after coronation

• I only vandalize cars –Suspect

For Mbaise people in Imo State, Ifeanyi Nwigwe is one of the respectable men in the land, hence the choice of making him the Aku enwe ebe 1 of Ezinihitte Mbaise  (money is not restricted to any town). But months after he was crowned by the community, Ifeanyi was arrested in Lagos for robbery and now cooling his heels in detention.

Saturday Sun gathered that prior to his installation as the Aku enwe ebe 1 of Ezinihitte Mbaise, the suspect had been on the wanted list of the Lagos State police command whose operatives eventually arrested him along with his relative, Vincent Emezuem over a armed robbery incident in the state. Now guests at the Special Anti Robbery Squad, Ikeja, Lagos, the duo admitted to having vandalized hundreds of cars in Lagos and other states.

It was learnt that following intelligence reports on the activities of car vandals in Lagos, the  state Commissioner of Police, Umaru Manko directed the commander of SARS, Abba Kyari, who deployed detectives that tracked Ifeanyi down at ASPAMDA market where he had a shop stocked with motor spare parts. Realising that the game was up, the suspect was said to have fled and resurfaced when he felt the coast was clear. Unfortunately for him, the detectives, who knew his modus operandi, caught him in the act in the Ojo area of Lagos while he was busy doing what he knows best, car vandalization.

Giving an insight into how he ventured into the world of crime, the suspect said: “Shortly after I graduated from the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede Owerri, Imo State, my elder brother requested that I should relocate to Lagos and join him in his business. He was into auto parts business at ASPAMDA market, Lagos.

“I learnt the trade for one year and while I was waiting to raise money and start up my own shop, I decided to relocate to Ladipo market where second hand products known as tokunbo are sold. I joined a group of young men who served as middle men between customers and the main dealers. All they do is to source for customers and refer them to a dealer who has the product in his shop. You will be paid an agreed commission for each customer you bring.

“It was while I was in the process that I realised that most of the goods sold at Ladipo market were stolen. Reason being that they are sold cheap to mechanics and customers who decide to come and pick themselves.”

Desperate and impatient, Ifeanyi decided to cut corners by learning how to get those cheap motor parts from the right source. “I discovered that those who were supplying these stolen motor spare parts were driving cars and building houses. I briefly learnt from one Martin, how to successfully vandalize cars undetected. So, sometime in 2010, I went into full vandalization. Initially, our target areas were in big churches where they park cars carelessly without any security man ensuring the safety of the cars.

“It was becoming risky, so we started working at night and I discovered that for every successfully operation, we will almost leave with a bag full of motor spare parts. These include motor top gasket which we normally sell to dealers at the price of N10,000, N15,000 or even N20,000 depending on  the content. Others are side mirrors, the head lamps and so many other things that are in hot demand in the market. In Nigeria, there is much demand for Toyota and Honda products, so we concentrate on these two brands,” Ifeanyi further said.

For over three years, Ifeanyi made so much money and never forgot to extend the proceeds to family and friends. He also acquired so much wealth that he was able to start up his business, by securing a shop at the ASPAMDA market where brand new motor parts are sold. “God was on my side and the business flourished. I wanted to stop stealing; I saved so much money and rented a shop at ASPAMDA market. I also ordered a container load of brand new motor spare parts.

“Naturally, when you are making progress, people will love to associate with you. My community recognised me because I was so generous. This has always been my dream to help people better their lives. In recognition of my contribution to the progress of my community, I was elected as the financial secretary of our village meeting. Impressed by my performance, I was made the Aku enwe ebe 1 of Ezinihitte Mbaise in 2012.”

Unfortunately, Ifeanyi never knew that his crime was gradually catching up with him. Hundreds of his victims reported his activities to the police hence the manhunt. In 2013, they tracked him down but he escaped when he learnt that policemen visited his house and shop. “I had sincerely stopped stealing when they came for me. I wanted to hand myself over to the police but when I learnt that it was SARS, Ikeja, I decided to run for my life. For months I had nothing doing and only relied on my savings in the bank. When it finished, I had no choice but to return to the business of vandalizing cars.

“I needed to retain my honour in the eyes of my community so that I will not lose my respect. It was while on duty (vandalizing a car) on May 11, 2014 that the police arrested me. I am terribly sorry and I ask for another opportunity to get it right,” Ifeanyi pleaded.

His accomplice and relation, Vincent, confirmed his story and begged that they should be forgiven. “Our own style of robbery is different. We do not carry guns but instruments that will assist us to open a car with ease. We also go along with fireworks, this is necessary to scare anyone who dares to come close when we are on duty vandalizing cars. I am a father of three boys and I wanted to give my children a good life by sending them to school. Please, forgive us for the sake of my children,” Vincent said.

Africa Magic Yoruba and Africa Magic Hausa launched on Monday 1st March 2010 the 24-hour channels available today. Africa Magic Hausa and Africa Magic Yoruba are available on channels 117 and 118 respectively.

There is no doubt that the country Nigeria is a very important market for Multichoice. Being Africa’s largest population and home to Nollywood, it not only offers most of the movies on Africa Magic, but also offers a ready consumer market for the direct-to-home digital satellite TV service called DStv.

The two factors that must have brought about Africa Magic Igbo would be demand and competition.

The Demand for igbo channel has led to accusation of tribalism on DSTV.

Africa Magic Igbo channel underway

From what we are gathering, TV network, Africa Magic on DSTv and Gotv is set to launch an Igbo channel. The station had been criticised for having Hausa and Yoruba channels, without an Igbo channel. But they had always responded that there are not enough content yet to start an Igbo station. It seems they now have the content they want and they are set to launch it soon.

Though none of their staff is ready to let the cat out of the bag yet, an insider confirmed that they have finally moved to end the complaints of what some see as marginalisation of Ndigbo. They will be introducing a channel for Igbo language in a matter of weeks. An inside source said that they might be waiting for the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA), which is holding today, to end before making the announcement.

African Magic entertainment bouquet now boasts of eight channels. While there are dedicated channels for Hausa and Yoruba films, there has been none for the Igbo, one of Nigeria’s three major ethnic groups.

I believe Yoruba and Hausa were there because of their spread amongst speakers beyond Nigerian borders. Ibo is not spoken across the borders.

Abia, Enugu, Imo, Anambra States and other south-eastern states of Nigeria are fast becoming the home of baby factories as many of them keep sprouting every other day, with the recent rescue of 14 pregnant teenagers and 8 children by soldiers from 144 Battalion, Asa, in Ukwa West local government area of Abia from one of such homes masquerading as a motherless baby home at Umunkpeyi Nvosi in Isiala Ngwa South of the state.

Beside the rescued girls, 6 young men whose jobs were to impregnate them and two girls who were in charge, were also arrested while the proprietress of the home known as Nma Charity, managed to escape.

The home which is allegedly run by the woman after having gotten the approval of the state government, is said to engage in child trafficking with the pregnant girls being forced to sell their children when they put to birth.

Information has it that the girls, on delivery, got N20,000, while their babies were sold for between N80,000 and N150,000 for females and males, respectively.

One of the suspects who was caught at Eke-Akpara in Osisioma Ngwa local government area of the state while trying to steal a baby, confessed that he had been in the business with Nma Charity for a long period, stating that his role was to steal a child and deliver it to the her, who in turn sold it to her customers.

Acting on the confession of the suspect, the Commanding Officer 144 Battalion, Lt. Col. Omolori Rasheed, ordered his men to raid the home where about 14 pregnant teenagers and six young men were arrested, while the proprietress of the home was away at the time of the raid.

The report further adds that the babies, between the 1 and 6, as well as the pregnant teenagers, would be handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Traffic in Persons and Other Related Matters, NAPTIP, while the other persons would be handed over to the police for prosecution.

PoliticsRe: Why Couldn't We Stop Human Rights Abuses To Get Better Weapons? by MayorofLagos(m): 6:21pm On Mar 07, 2015
@OP,

In international relations, government statements are given in measures. US government does not sell weapons. They approve the sale of weapons. Contractors are the ones that sell weapons.

Before that statement was made they have had roundtable discussions with arms contractors, CIA, political think tanks, trade and commerce experts to weigh the trade offs and impact of US influence in Nigeria.

If they brlieve for instance that Nigeria's relations with China should be the tradeoff for arms supply then Nigeria would need to reposition its closeness to China and lean more to US before approval is given for shipment. Perharps US contractors have struggled for years and unsuccessfully to flood our country with genetically modified foods, maybe our congress have snubbed US on its intetest to seek protective laws for homosexuality....is it remotely possible that these arms could end up in the hands of terrorists in Delta who would then use it to create endangerement in oil producing areas?

Well, the contractors dont speak to the public on arms procurement. If they did they will speak in terms and language that will destroy international relations. Therefore the US State Department (diplomatix..lol) speaks....and they do so with tact and diplomacy.

So, this refusal to supply us arms has nothing go do with human rights abuse.....but if it does, then its based on the decision of our government not to recognize homosexuality, an act US satanically classifies as a human right!
