Ado-Ekiti- The 156 years old Riemann
Hypothesis, the most important problem in
Mathematics has been successfully solved by
Nigeria Scholar, Dr Opeyemi Enoch.


With this breakthrough, Dr Enoch, who teaches
at the Federal University, Oye Ekiti (FUOYE),
has become the fourth egghead to resolve one of
the seven Millennium Problems in Mathematics.

The Kogi State-born mathematician had, before
now, worked on mathematical models and
structures for generating electricity from sound,
thunder and Oceanic bodies.

A statement in Ado Ekiti yesterday said Dr
Enoch presentation of the Proof on November 11,
2015 during the International Conference on
Mathematics and Computer Science in Vienna,
Austria becomes more symbolic coming on the
exact day and month 156 years after the problem
was delivered by a German Mathematician in
1859.

The Riemann Zeta Hypothesis is one of the
seven Millennium problems set forth by the Clay
Mathematics Institute with a million Dollar
reward for each solved problem for the past 16
years.

According to the statement, “Dr Enoch first
investigated and then established the claims of
Riemann. He went on to Consider and to correct
the misconceptions that were communicated by
Mathematicians in the past generations, thus
paving way for his solutions and proofs to be
established.

“He also showed how other problems of this
kind can be formulated and obtained the matrix
that Hilbert and Poly predicted will give these
undiscovered solutions. He revealed how these
solutions are applicable in cryptography,
quantum information science and in quantum
computers,” it stated.

Three of the problems had been solved and the
prizes given to the winners. This makes it the
fourth to be solved of all the seven problems.
Dr Enoch had previously designed a Prototype of
a silo for peasant farmers and also discovered a
scientific technique for detecting and tracking
someone on an evil mission.

Enoch has succeeded in inventing methods by
which oil pipelines can be protected from
vandalism and he is currently working on
Mathematical approaches to Climate Change

their way to Gambia for final preparation
ahead African U23 Championship

Nigeria U23 team escaped plane crash on their
way to Gambia on Sunday morning towards
perfecting strategies for the African U23
Championship billed for Senegal.
The Dream Team VI opted for the west African
country after their trip to Morocco was
cancelled owing to visa issues.

Goal gathered through one of the Nigeria U23
officials as at the time of writing this report
that the pilot of the Arik Airline made and
emergency landing in Accra, Ghana due to
unexpected technical difficulties to the
aircraft and has since been left stranded in
the Ghana capital.

"Thank God for his goodness and his mercies
we escaped plane crash on our way to
Gambia, the pilot had to make an emergency
landing in Accra we are still in Accra," a
senior official of the team told Goal after the
incident.

"We are still stranded here and we are yet to
get any news from Arik officials.”
The team is likely to depart Accra on Sunday
evening after the Nigeria Football Federation
might have arranged new travel plans.

[b]The Nigerian Army said on Wedneday that troops had rescued about 338 people held by Boko Haram as well as killed over 30 Boko Haram terrorists. The Army in a statemet by Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman Acting Director Army Public Relations and made avaible stated that the troops of 28 Task Force Brigade Nigerian Army deployed at Bitta and Pridang carried out a successful raid on suspected Boko Haram terrorists camps at Bulajilin and Manawashe villages along Bita and Damboa road at the fringes of Sambisa forest on Tuesday. The troops were able to killed 30 Boko Haram terrorists.
The unit also rescued 338 persons that were held captive by the terrorists in the enclaves. The rescued persons which comprised of male 8, female 138 and children 192, have since been evacuated to Mubi. Troops also recovered arms and ammunitions during the raid operation which include 1 General Purpose Machine Gun and 2 Dane Guns, 150 rounds of 7.62mm (NATO), 6 boxes of 7.62mm (NATO) and 3 cutlasses.
In a related development, troops based on a tip off, ambushed and killed 4 suspected Boko Haram terrorists on a suicide bombing mission to Gubula, Madagali Local Government Area, Adamawa State. Apart from 2 AK-47 rifles recovered, the troops also recovered some Unexploded Ordinances (UXOs), mortar bombs and cash sum of N153,385k was retrieved.
It is worthy to note that the raid operation on the Boko Haram Terrorists enclave coincided with the Chief of Army Staff’s operational visit to the Brigade Headquarters in Mubi. The successful clearance operations and ambushing of the terrorists has further degraded them and saved the lives of so many innocent victims of their suicide bombings. Having appealed and given the terrorists final warning, we would like to state that from now on troops within bounds of respect for human rights and rules of engagement, we shall continue to decisively deal with Boko Haram terrorists until they are defeated.
Therefore, we are appealing for continued vigilance, security consciousness and above all cooperation with the military and security agencies to enable us successfully defeat the terrorists. You are please requested to disseminate this information to the public through your medium.
